I am head over heels with Summer, we know that by now. Yet, I am kind of ok with fall too. Kind of. When my hours spent outdoors still surpass my indoor shenanigans, I’m fine. Having said that, I spent 11 hours in bed last night and no, unfortunately this did not include one single session of mad monkey loving, hence a lot of blissful sleep.
After 11 days into the new month, it is legit to share a Currently list. Listing is the ultimate if it comes to crazy phases in life, am I right.
Yesterday Monday at noon sharp, I ended the third 25hours shift for the week. To make work and the grey-ish wet-ish weather bearable, I baked for the kids and sneaked in a trailrun before diving into shift work.
Beanie, beanie, beanie and leather. This sounds way naughtier than I intended, but you catch my drift. This is what I love about this weather – my jeans, my beanies, my sneakers and my leather jackets. And scarfs of course, huge, fat scarfs.
Current bane of existence:
My Health. The docs stated a decrease of my lungs volume and a strong lack of iron in my blood. I realized how hard of a time I had to get through CrossFit workouts or interval cardio – shortage of breath regularly makes me almost choke during intense trainings, so I went to check on it. The procedure now is regulating the iron and see if that has an impact – otherwise testing my lungs will continue. Plus, during this crazy work week, I caught a nasty cold. Insert frown here. Training is my safe and sane place, so being limited there sucks balls.
It doesn’t keep me from joining the classes regularly and working hard – I am not giving up the level I worked myself up to and I am definitely not giving up my booty gains. Two snaps, a kiss and a twirl.
I am ingesting bowls of nutritional goodness to support my health and to feel better about myself – in as many ways as possible. Cheese is involved in pretty much every meal. Because cheese.
As always, I wish wine and chocolate would fulfill all my nutritional needs and my world would be perfect. Alas, I balance it out with humongous rice milk lattes, water, green tea and beer. Because beer.
Current favorite waste of freetime:
Besides sweating next to my CrossFit loves, and sleeping hilarious amounts of hours when I am not nightshifting, I am out on the prowl for images, and, of course, writing. The art project on the fabric campus is entering the final stage and I can not get enough of the vibes there and catching glimpses with my cam. Drinks downtown with the Bestie. In case I wasn’t already clear, I love to sip on wine and chat and stare at cute guys some nights. If we’re talking strictly quantity, it’s moderate – I like to prove anyone wrong who thinks I intoxicate myself every night or even now and then.
I booked a week of Spain in November. You remember the beach house? Yeah. It’s a small wonder that I am not yet crying over not having been to the beach in almost five weeks now, and I am not even kiddin’. Now it’s the foreseeable future and I can’t wait to board the plane. For the love of my teenage kids and the job, I keep up with my regular life in the best way possible – a reason, why I am totally fine with not being a nomad for the time being. Who am I?
I have 2 days off, the pink edition of Sex and the City to watch, and some more than awesome plans with lazying around, meeting friends, training, photographing and sleeping. All I need to be happy.
