Showcasing life – Summer in Switzerland.

Is it ok to ask for the last name of a kind-of-date only after the third night? Don’t answer. Or actually do, but no questions to add please. I mean, not that I need to know – God forbid. I was just wondering. Not important. Ignore me.

Remember when I said I want to work on those intros? Me neither. I think intros are overrated anyway. I got to keep my word count in check, so how’s that for a reason. Anyhow, I have a few days off work and my Australia Bestie is here to visit me. Trying to be the best host ever, I am showcasing her my life here in Switzerland with all its bits and pieces – literally.

While making plans as on how I could show Bee that my home is worth moving, I realized how much I love it. Watching her face when she caught a glimpse of the breathtaking views on top of the Alps made me realize how lucky I am to call this place home. While soaking up the sun in the middle of downtown at the river and enjoying summer in the city, I felt in tune with this place, so much. While turning completely hyper when catching up with a myriad of my peeps on Friday night at the rooftop bar and having a blast, I have found that there is no reason to change the beauty I have in my life.

I took a myriad of pictures of places I have seen many times before. I could have given every stupid tourist a run for his money, except that I understand the weird jargon called Swiss German. I also own an apartment, 2 racing bikes, 1 city bike and a car in this city. Right, my love for Switzerland may be biased due to being born and raised in this small but famous country and having a plethora of beautiful people around me. However – beyond doubts, I created my world here in the best way possible.

I love traveling with a passion and I will travel many more places, that is as sure as the wineglass in my hand. There are enough reasons for me to do so and based on my gutsy, adventurous and hyperactive nature, there is no way for me to stay away from a plane for too long. However, I recommend my readers who have not visited Switzerland before to do so. Apart from the amazing views, we make the best cheese and bread. Also, the chocolate is porn, undisputable and based on popular science. I am almost if not utterly convinced that the mentioned food groups fulfill all my nutritional needs – for the fruit part I would choose wine from the menu. Balance is key, not to be confused with obsession. I simply like that stuff.

While sitting on the terrace of the Spalegna with a unforgettable and priceless picture right in front of us of the Swiss mountains, we were having a chat with a dutch couple. The woman said:’ I will never get used to some of the Swiss’s grumpiness. I have been living in this country for ten years now and I am amazed every day anew how good life is here and how stunningly beautiful too. Some people here forget how lucky and privileged they are to call this place home.’

Downright right. Traveling is beautiful – especially when I get to travel my country to showcase it to my tourist friend. Next one will be going back to Australia or South Africa or any other place – to explore and see the beauty of the rest of the world.

  1. Alright, you’ve convinced me – I need to visit. I’ve actually always want to go to Switzerland, but back then it was to go boarding in the mountains😛 I might be in Europe next summer…

  2. Sometimes I can’t believe how long I lived in Europe and yet have seen so little of it. Brits don’t really travel, I never did with my parents and then I was too busy with uni. I’m so glad that David and I developed the travel bug together and we will see as much of the world as we can, I’m sure of it. For now, I just want to explore as much of Australia as I can, so much to see! But one day I will be amongst the beautiful Swiss Alps for sure!🙂

  3. So long as you’re not asking about their first name, I think it’s perfectly acceptable.

Your city and country is amazing. I can’t wait to explore it with you. So stunning.

  4. I think as long as you can recognize him in the morning, names are optional.😉

Your home IS beautiful. I’d trade you in any time. Plus, you’re slo close to everything. You can freaking DRIVE to Italy. No Trump. My jealousy is growing by the moment.

  5. Wow – seems like I’ll have to find myself a mountain to hike up next time I’m in Switzerland! Those views are absolutely stunning!❤

I don’t bother to find out last names unless we are officially a couple. Don’t worry about it haha

I knew Switzerland was beautiful, but wow! These photos blew me away. I need to get my butt over there!
