Good morning and Happy Monday!
While you are reading this, I will probably be in the middle of 200’000 people downtown at Basler Fasnacht, aka Carneval. You remember – I wrote about it the past few years and most presumably the major part of you think I am completely nuts for being part of this tradition, but I roll with it.
Anyway, first things first: A week full of good things lays past me. I was so free to take 2 half-days off from work to catch up with girlfriends. Nothing better than spending time with my loved ones.
It actually felt like Spring two days this week which makes cycling SO MUCH more enjoyable. I absolutely LOVE to be on my racing bike, we know that by now, but even more so when the sun’s out and I can ride in a shirt and with shades. Perfection.
Training: CrossFit Games Open start in only 5 days! I have to be good at carneval and I will – for the first time since I am carnevalising (30 years now) – go to do a training twice during these 3 days. We did some tough competition prep sessions past week, I inserted some Powerlifting stuff (Swiss Championship in FOUR weeks!) and as every week, I went to Gymnastics. I love it more and more each time I go – even though I still move like a wet sack on the rack (wheeeee, RHYME!!) – I do see some little progress.
Highlight of the week?
Burlesque Party with my CrossFit peeps. It was a damn frolic BLAST. We started at the box and then moved on to the club where there was dancing, drinks and Burlesque shows all night. Absolutely, absolutely loved it.
