Blasting in the Swiss Alps and a few resolutions

6. January 2015 by swissfitchick

Happy New Year!! Yeah, I am a little late, but that’s nothing new and some things should stay the way they are even in 2015. Did I flirt my way out of being such a sucking blogger in the past 3 weeks? Eww. Maybe not. Damn.

But I have a resolution – maybe not for 2015, but at least for January.

1. Being a better blogger with regular posts and keeping up with the community – my timing sucked so bad lately, it’s not even funny anymore.

2. Stop eating sugar like others eat vegetables

3. Stop drinking alcohol like others drink water – I swear, I drank all the drinks and then some. Wonderwall I am not poisoned yet.

So, let’s see what was happening during my post christmas vacation! I went to help with things in our new and second box which opens in one month! Thank God I wasn’t drunk for once, falling off this ladder wouldn’t be the funniest thing. Or maybe it would for the ones watching I guess. #ladderfail on YouTube or so.

LucieBesides being consistent with being non-consistent on blogging and cutting out sugar, I kept up with my workouts. There was too much adrenaline in last Tuesday’s Advanced class and we finished off with 100cals on Air Dyne. Gasp.

I crashed myself with an Open Gym workout in the morning of the 31st and then took off to my bro’s and sister in law’s place in the mountains. It was simply a blast. Besides that my brother watched me drinking cause I fought a bladder infection, we had quite the party – followed by one of the most beautiful 1st of January’s ever.

Sylvester Sylvester Sylvester SylvesterOh, noooooo nonono, I didn’t go snowboarding. TOO bad, really, but I am actually permanently running on sleep deprivation, so I had to sleep in and laying around on the sun terrasse in my pj’s until the afternoon. There was no way I would move my butt for a second.

Friday, I spent at the box with work and training and later packed my stuff AGAIN to drive to St.Moritz (another Swiss Alps spot) to watch Christian’s Swiss Champtionship in Bobsleigh.

St.Moritz St.Moritz

Ramon, Head Coach and owner CrossFit Basel and Sabine, an other member of the box were with me and we probably had already the best weekend of the year. It was a blast and my abs still hurt from all the really, REALLY silly jokes.

Ramon and Sabine went for the guestrun together with Christian. I will go coming weekend with him and our officecrew, so I stayed out, drank some champagne and took pics. Not that I complained or something.

Oh, and I left my iPhone a few times unattended. Will I ever learn?

St.Moritz St.Moritz St.Moritz St.Moritz St.MoritzAnd then I come to work on Monday morning and this happens:

imageI almost made it. But I was good. I swear, I heard my body screaming for structured and clean meals. I take WIAW to show you if I listened! Expect a proper WIAW post tomorrow, as I said, I am going to be a better blogger as of now.

Happy Tuesday!

Any smart New Year’s resolutions?

Did you ever sit in a bobsled?

Do you Iceskate? Ski? Snowboard?

  1. I hear you on alllll the drinks. I drank all of them and then some. Ooops! The good news is that we are all so over the decadence train that we’re committed to getting back to clean eating together! Vegas is even doing it with me!

I skied 2 days in Tahoe. It was fun but they didn’t have much powder. One day I’ll get to live closer to the snow and learn to snowboard too.

I don’t like to make New Year’s Resolutions – I try to be awesome always πŸ™‚ I’ve never skied or snowboarded – well not properly, I did try a dry slope a couple of times, but it intimidates me. I hear you about running on sleep deprivation – I need to catch up!!! πŸ™‚

  3. You can flirt all you like.

I am so impressed at your willpower on Monday with that in sight…….I would actually faceplant the toblerone itself.

Remind me to tell you my ski stories when you’re here. There is a reason I despise snow so much.

Come on, your sugar consumption cannot be that bad, considering so many people barely eat veggies at all… πŸ™‚

  5. Everything looks like so much fun! And the pics of champagne made me crave some again… I realised that if I had more of a disposable income I would have champagne with breakfast every Sunday (Sunday only, you know, to be restrained!). Christmas and new year makes me realise how much I love the stuff!

i actually did good this year, we didn’t even have champagne and I went to bed at midnight. haha. But cheers to a new year and now you must go get some sleep!

  7. Well sitting in a bobsled must have been a pretty interesting experience..Ha! I love ice skating! I try to think I am not bad at it but still enjoy the pretty hard slip falls once in a while…;) I loved the video! It looked like so much “tough” fun!

I thought that the little tiny toes bathing in Mr Sunshines light over looking the beautiful mountains would be a favorite photo from this post until I saw the bobsledding photos. Love Bobsledding!!! The sound of those racers on a sheet of ice is unreal & you have to be there to appreciate it, right?!?!? Gr8 post for 2015 & A Very Happy New Year To You!!! Cheers

i feel your pains, seriously! i may have over consumed a bit too much as well – in fact, one drinking epside on christmas night was so traumatizing, i didn’t want more than 1 glass of champagne on New Year’s Eve! i have a few more parties this month, then we celebrate Chinese New year next month, so much celebrating to do – so by the end of Feb i’ll be SOOOO ready to become a sober person, lol.
i miss St. Moritz so much, your photos make me happy and wishful at the same time!

  10. I LOVE Toblerone! I have never sat in a bobsled but I would if the cutie patootie in the red in your pic was standing behind it πŸ˜‰

  11. Didn’t go snowboarding?! The horror! πŸ˜› I’ll be going this weekend, and I seriously can’t WAIT. I’m just hoping that the weather warms up a little, because we’re currently sitting at around -25. And I think I’ve been skating since I was about 2 years old, buuuuut I don’t know how to ski. I tried it a few times when I was younger, and gave up and turned to snowboarding instead. Best.decision.ever.

    • I know! But I would have had to go to sleep really early for that and with my bladder infection I really didn’t feel it. But I will go soon, that’s for sure! Hope you are having tons of fun on the slopes girl!! These temps are crazy, I would simply die.

  12. I have definitely been on the “alllllllll the sugar” train lately and I need to ease up on it a little. Only a little though πŸ˜‰

  13. I’m glad you had a great New Year and finally seem to be on the mend. You’ll make it back the blogging community when there’s time; just make sure to take care of yourself first. We’ll be here.

I can’t ski. I don’t know how to stop, other than to just fall down. It’s super graceful.

If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
