Good morning and welcome to Monday’s Party – thank you Katie for hosting!!
So, I am back at work since a week but not for long🙂 2 more weeks and we close up for the holidays. Nothing to complain here. I fell flat on the floor of reality when I did my first training back at the box on Tuesday. 1 hour Olympic Lifting (50kg Clean PR, yeah!) and 2 hours Advanced Class. I remember that sometime originally, it was scheduled for 75 minutes, but yep, that fact got lost somewhere in space. Michael punished us with a Strongman WOD that nearly killed me.

I don’t know about you, but after intense trainings like this, I am wide and wild awake. I was in bed by midnight and checked the clock the last time at 1:30. Oh well. I take it as an excuse to drink some wine next time.
On Thursday, I was back at Gymnastics and planked my friend Roby. 78kg-human-plank.
The weekend was definitely marvelous, it was filled with tons of friendstime – best thing ever. Friday night the traditional Friends Christmas Dinner at Sylvia’s and her husband’s place. Good good times.
Spoilt for choice with a herd of shoes…..after 2,5 weeks of no-make-up, beach wear and flip flops, I LOVED to dress up, wearing make up and jewelry and being with people almost all weekend long.
Saturday I trained and hung out at the box and caught some impressions of this Winter-Weekend-Day there. Saturday offers almost everything: Competition Class, All Levels Classes, Olympic Lifting, Intro Classes and of course there is Open Gym. Typical Saturday.
Later I had a visitor from Zurich – Anne – who I spent time with at the Christmas Market. Of course with spiced wine and followed by dinner at one of my favorite Italian places in Basel. It’s so good to have her around. Endless good talks and laughs.
Sunday I slept in until 9:30. And I had no intention to get up whatsoever – but I did. Quick outdoor sprints and a little WOD on the schoolyard near my house. Playgrounds are the perfect gyms. I didn’t intend to whine about the weather – but please bear with me. We have a grey color since I am back from Spain and accompanied by drizzling rain. Honestly? It SUCKS. My way to fight the sadness – go out, catch the fresh air and sweat. Winter in the city is pretty unnecessary if you ask me. Anyway, my outdoor session made me feel so much better and was followed by mobility at home and this hip routine by Tara. I posted the video already sometime earlier – I do this so often, it is SO good to open up those hips. And I don’t have to think, just follow. Win.😉

Jonas (my male Bestie🙂 ) picked me up later in the day to hang out all Sunday with them at their place. It was fabulous and my favorite way to waste a grey Sunday. We obviously had a blast taking selfies. OMG. My abs. It might seem absurdly to outsiders why we sometimes laugh about things like we do, but well, I wanted to lay down in fetal curl and laugh for the rest of my life.
Little man then wanted a selfie too. We then had a delicious veggie quiche for dinner and storytime with little Blondie.
Cross fingers that next Sunday will be snow and sun – Jonas and me plan to finally hit the slopes!!!
Did you ever try hot spiced wine? It’s the only wine I drink like it’s my job…..
