A new bike (yay) and the dizziness is back (nay)

Happy Monday! I hope your week started off nicely!

Welcome to another MIMM. Thank you Katie for hosting!

4 days to go. 4 days at the office, then I am off to a Chill-Weekend with my girls and on Monday, I fly off to the beach. It’s unbelievable how much I look forward to the sun!

But let’s start with the weekend first. On Friday I met up with Toby, my Ex-Ex-boyfriend which was great since I haven’t seen him in way too long and he is probably one of my most favorite conversational partner. He knows me so well and he is smart and funny. A good combo to talk about some important things. I also got to know his little family he has now and I am really happy for them. Oh, and the food wasn’t too bad either.

In the evening, I killed it at the box – I had a skill session with one of the coaches (skill: Toes to Bar – I managed 3 proper ones until I ripped my hands) went to Powerlifting and added 90 minutes Advanced CrossFit. Let’s face it – I couldn’t walk nor properly take off clothes anymore for the rest of the weekend. SO SORE.

Saturday morning I got up early to pick up our Powerlifting World Champion Nora to drive her to the Junior Switzerland Championships in Olympic Lifting in Lausanne. We babbled all the way in the car and arrived fresh and ready at the location.

Of course she broke all the Swiss Records. She’s a star. Look at that perfect snatch with an easy (*coughcoughcough*) weight of 80kg/176.3lbs.

After the award ceremony we drove back and I dropped her and her boyfriend off at their home and then went on to a little dinner party at one of my best friends house. It was one of the most relaxing and funny evenings in a long time and I took exactly one pic (of the booze of course) and then ignored my phone for the rest of the night. Oh, and I had 2 glasses of prosecco and was already supertipsy. I didn’t realize that I didn’t drink in about 4 weeks. WHO am I??

Sunday morning I did my sprints outside and then stumbled (did I mention I couldn’t really walk anymore from damn Barbell Walking Lunges??) to the train station to travel to a guy who wanted to sell me his bike. Sleepy and trying to hold my phone with sore arms from Pull Ups and weighted Push Ups.

Thank God I had food with me. Seriously guys, After Friday workouts like this, I eat like a lion. You can also call me bottomless pit, no big deal.

I bought the bike. It was a super bargain. You’re absolutely right, I already have a race bike, but the one I have is really exclusive (Klein Alteus) and I am paranoid that it will die in winter or maybe get stolen. So I need a back up. Diana with the pink stripes is now MINE and I absolutely love it. Both of them will be taken care of carefully, that’s for sure.

See, when you’re on the road alone, you just have to get strangers to take pics of you. You’re either a blogger or you aren’t. I am clearly used to get on people’s nerves frequently. It’s part of the job. Totally fine with me ๐Ÿ™‚

I came home and started to do the debriefing work for Nora’s competition when I was hit by dizziness. I had it 2 weeks ago already one afternoon. Maybe you remember the day back in February when I spent a whole day at the Emergency Room cause I was acting like a complete drunk with throwing up and all that jazz at 7am in the morning. Now yesterday it wasn’t as bad, but it was definitely not possible to ignore and I had to cancel my CrossFit class, which I HATE. I don’t know what it is or where it comes from and I just hope it won’t happen again. I really hate it and it scares me. So, I spent the rest of the day in bed with my laptop, trash TV, blogging, Facebook stalking, a lot of sleep and dozing and killing mosquitos.

Yes. I have mosquitos in my bedroom regularly lately and I am just SO confused as to what the HELL they are doing there. It’s NOVEMBER guys, your season is over, so DIE and leave me in peace, damnit.

I guessย it is just the work overload and the lack of sleep lately – my last vacation being back in May and the break up, the move and all the changes happening since then. Good thing Israel and Spain is just around the corner.

Have a great day guys!

Do you still have mosquitos where you live?ย

I have seen a mosquito in a month or so. I live in Colorado, US. Glad they are gone!

  2. Pam Lambert says:

    “Haven’t seen” ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. The first two weeks of living in my dorm this year, I was EATEN ALIVE by some type of bug. Either a mosquito or a spider, but my legs were covered in itchy huge bites! It was terrible :O

  4. Susan says:

We have lots of mosquitos in Texas but they were far worse when we lived in Mandeville, Louisiana! OMG. They were awful!

You really should go to get a full check up and maybe go and have an Ear, Nose & Throat Dr check things out for you. You could have an inner ear thing going on. Being anemic can cause dizziness, too.

Get well soon and I hope you keep us posted on how you are feeling.

    • Oh I can only imagine the mosquitos there!! Compared to them ours are babies, lol.
I know, I alredy made several checks back in February, but they didn’t find anything it was so odd!! But I have to go back and check again.

  5. Oh no hope you are feeling better Lucie- in a way it’s almost like a blessing that you felt off now rather than during your travels. And OMG Israel?? I CANNOT wait to hear about your trip- how long is the flight from Switzerland?

  6. I also struggle with dizziness constantly but i know why, it’s because of my Crohn’s disease that is torturing me every day. It usually happens during exercising when my heart rate gets high. I know how frustrating and scary it can be. It’s a terrible feeling. I hope it’s nothing serious with you but please go check with a doctor. You are such an inspiring person! Love your blog โค

  7. Oh those cheeky mosquitos!!! Ha! I an so glad they decided to leave here but this summer one day I woke up with 23 stings! 23!!?!?!??! That day I was a ball of fire..in the meanest possible way….!
I am sure that AMAZING vacation will be your cure! I mean Israel and Spain! Jealous! Xxx

  8. Dizziness o no! So sorry to hear that I hope you get well soon or find out what is causing you to feel that way! Thailand is mosquito mania it drives me insane and I have to spray myself all day with nasty chemicals which makes me cringe but at least I am not covered in itchy bumps! Tiger balm works well to calm the itching down! Love the new bike ๐Ÿ™‚ All my love C

    • I know! I hope it won’t come back ever! I hate it.
Oh, and I bet Thailand’s mosquitos are NASTY. I remember when I was in the Philippines, 2 sec without the nasty chemicals and I was covered with stings!!

  9. Emily Hawkes says:

Hope you’re feeling better today Lucie, try to take it easy this week before you go away.

I love that you got a stranger to take a photo of you – I still feel nervous taking my own photos all the time wondering what people think ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t know about mozzies but I found a ladybird in my bathroom yesterday โค

  10. cottercrunch says:

hmmm dizziness.. i wonder if it’s low zinc, potassium, or magnesium? You know i am all about finding out what to do to heal. Keep me posted! but yay for new bike!

  11. Considering that we are currently buried under a pile of snow – pretty safe to say that the mosquitoes are gone here! And the new bike is so pretty! I miss my bike. I hope you figure out what’s going on with the dizziness thing – that’s a bit worrisome!

  12. Nora blows me away. Total bad ass!!!

The dizziness is so scary! Take care of yourself. That’s an order. xo

  13. Love the new bike! I’m ready to build one of my own for the first time – I want to buy the frame, then the components and wheels separately – make it my own from the ground up. ๐Ÿ™‚ Scary about the dizziness, hope you can figure that out soon!

    • Ou that is SO cool!! I wish I could do that! I guess mine would turn out up side down or something – definitely not talented in this area ๐Ÿ™‚
Let us see a pic if you finished it!

  14. danielle says:

wow i LOVE your new bike!!!!! it’s super cute, sharp, pink, awesome, and hot – oh, hey look at the owner? sisters! lol ๐Ÿ˜€
so i must tell you, 4 weeks???? my mind is blown right now. i am not getting wasted every day or anything, but i feel quite impressed with myself if i go for more than 2 days without a sip of anything… hmm. well i’m okay with a glass after a long day, and i suppose my new job has been really crazy so every day feels long! i’m happy when i’m too exhausted to drink actually, ha!
here in texas, mosquitos are the devil and the devil is every damn place you can imagine. i hate those beasties and they love me. ugh! so irritating, i have no sympathy for killing them… even though i love animals and nature, smashing these blood sucking shits is not a problem. tmi? lol.
my trash telly has been gotham and good wife and nashville.. and house hunters. i need to work on this area of life, lol. xoxox

    • Right??! I don’t know how that happened, but I just wasn’t out that much or if, I was with the CrossFit Crew who don’t really drink. It’s ok though, I guess my body thanks me ๐Ÿ™‚
And thenks, I love the bike too, so happy with it!!

  15. The good thing about snow and winter is that it kills off all the annoying summer bugs. The bad thing is that… well… it’s cold ๐Ÿ˜ฏ And girl! You -need- to start taking it a little easier if you’re getting dizzy spells like that! I know it’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting to do ALL the things, but you goat make sure you don’t stretch yourself way too thin. I’m glad that you’ll be enjoying some time off soon ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Jessie says:

A vacation & beach trip with your girlfriends sounds like a blast. If only i could be joining in on this fun. Can you at least consume a beverage.. or two…or three for me? ๐Ÿ™‚

p.s. I hope these dizzy spells you’re having end. I mean gosh, I don’t want to hear that your not feeling well.
