Social Media/PR Chick going live and official

13. October 2014 by swissfitchick

Good morning!

I warn you. It’s highly possible that this post won’t make any sense at all. It is 10:30 pm while I am writing this and since 2 days I film, photograph, blog, Facebook, upload, photo edit and email media mails. It’s not so hard, but like everything you do for the first time, I acted like a stupid beginner and it took me YEARS for things that normally take 30 minutes. Blogging for my sweet little blog seems like the easiest thing to do right now.

But yeah I feel a little…..

Beyond my nerves?

….beyond my nerves?

I didn’t have any caffeine. Nor booze.

Ok, wait, let’s get this sorted.

I went for a Sprint/HIT-session on Friday morning – 30 minutes intensity, nothing more, nothing less. Grocery shopping, houshold stuff, phonecalls with Besties and then off to lunch with the CrossFit boys. Powerlifting class at 5 and then home. The boys thought it was hilarious on how nervous I was to be the Social Media/PR coordinator from now on and before my first job at the Olympic Weightlifting Competition. Very funny, haha. I wanted to do it perfect, so of course I was nervous.

A little revenge:

I was so giddy, I prepared myself all evening in the middle of laundry piles and my own Social Media/Blog craziness-addicition.

HomeNot without my favorite dessert on the side:

Saturday was competition day. They did SO well. I think I did too. I hope. No one complained so far. Not sure what that is supposed to mean.

Now what really lacked was my reminder to take pics. I SO wished I had one of me as the PR/Media Chick. Seriously you guys, I had no idea what I was doing, but I acted like I did. It’s always the way to go if you have no clue about the world around you. I carried my cam around my neck, had my writing pad and pen (and always took notes, I felt SO important), and waved around with my iPad and iPhone all freaking time like a mad woman. I ran up and down the stairs as if I was SO busy, when in reality I just always forgot everything everywhere. Not typical, ey? (…)

But hey, a guy even went to Tom to ask him if I was from the press. Baaaahahaha. Goal reached!!! Btw, I gave myself a title in my CrossFit Basel Email: Lucie Pfaendler, PR/Social Media Communications. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

The ladies won 1st place in team!! Arent’ they beautiful chasing the podium?!

The boys did good as well. Silly kids.

We went for dinner back home and again, I forgot to take one single pic. I need to do better next time. We had the best time. I was so confused and exhausted after this day that the only thing I did was gulping down one huge bucket of prosecco, shoveling beef and risotto into my mouth, talking nonsense and laugh like a sillyΒ chicken all night long. I collapsed in my bed after midnight completely knocked out.

Up at 8am and starting to do all the debriefing work. Thank God for food on the side. My photo skills said goobye.

I went to CrossFit class at 5 and did some more strength circuits after.

Class was a medball warm up, Floor Press, DB Rows and Double Kettlebell Swings, and this WOD:

…and then worked some more at the box.

Box Work

I love it. It might be a lot of work, but yeah, I love it. It includes everything I am passionate about, writing, photographing (& editing), Social Media, being with people/friends, and beside it I can do my training and write about it. I can represent the place online where I spend my freetime at. Seems right, right? I secretly hope they make this job a fulltime position for me. C’mon. It’s so perfect.

A big thank you to my filled freezer and a fridge that was stocked up with fresh veggies. 5 minutes prep meal:

I need to go to bed. Let’s hope I find the Publish Button before I go.

Good night.

Favorite Questbar Flavor?Β

Do you tend to get nervous when you do something for the first time?Β

Ketchup, yay or nay? Ours is nay, cause it’s filled with sugar. I still like it πŸ™‚

  1. You made me laugh with the ketchup comment. πŸ™‚

SO glad it went well!!! I want to see ll the pics when they’re done!

  2. Donya says:

I just tried the Cookies and Creme one for the first time a few hours ago hahaha! I thought it was okay but everyone I know loves this flavor the most, my personal favorite is Double Chocolate Chunk, (with some warm almond milk late at night) … Heaven! I love your blog! I am currently working on overcoming my own unhealthy eating trends and with your posts the past couple weeks it has given me strength and greater insight. These more joyous posts give me hope that I too will one day become stronger and healthier, but most importantly such a happier individual that I can also spread joy. Thank you for being a guiding voice πŸ™‚

    • Oh thank you Donya!! So glad my posts help you and I know things will get better for you. Just keep on going!! Always here if you need to chat!
We don’t have the Double Chunk here, I would LOVE to try it!

  3. Not going to lie- I am DEF a ketchup gal…especially when potatoes are involved!! Way to go on the event- it sounds so up your alley and you did so well! I bet this role will naturally make you a better blogger too- double win :)!

  4. I am so jealous right now!! πŸ˜‰ Your new Crossfit Basel Email name is on point! What an amazing opportunity…I would totally act like you! Ha! Whenever I start something new I act like the Duracell bunny..too much energy! πŸ˜‰
Favorite quest bar: mixed berry bliss! I prefer the fruity ones!

    • Haha, oh yes, the Duracel Bunnie, that is exactly how I felt! And yes, I think too it is the perfect opportunity and I SO hope that I get to do more stuff and be more employed in the box. It would be perfect.

  5. Ah, I know you’d do fabulous!! Im so proud of you, Lucie! Keep up the good work you Social Media/PR Chick πŸ™‚

  6. How exciting- hope this does turn into a full time gig for you! Oh ketchup. They just released a stevia sweetened one here. I will NOT buy it. Give me the sugar sugar one.

  7. This sounds like the perfect opportunity for you, and I hope it does go full time. Does this mean you’re doing this in addition to your regular job? If so, make sure to keep your sanity in there with all that work. If you can do it, let me know how because there are some folks here in Cleveland I want to ask about doing their social media, and I’m not sure if I can handle it with everything else in my life. I.e. I need tips.

You are my favorite blonde, especially now that I’m a ginger.

    • yes, for now, I do it additionally. I hope things change a bit and I can do more for CrossFit.
To be honest, it is stressful, both jobs – and considering you have a hubby and cats, I wouldn’t recommend it. No one is waiting for me at home, so I can sit here and work all weekend long, but I don’t think your lovies would agree with that….
      I love your gingerstyle.

  8. Emily Hawkes says:

Kale chips with ketchup – gotta be done! But yes, I do feel the sugar-guilt. I bought a mixed box of quest bars so I’m working my way through the flavours. Didn’t like double chocolate Chunk, but did enjoy that cookies and cream πŸ™‚

Good job on the PR/social media stuff – you go girl!!! xx

    • We don’t have the Double Chunk here, would love to try this one! And I am superjealous of your kale chips. I am too lazy to make my own πŸ™‚

      • Emily Hawkes says:

I suspect I have another in my mixed box. PM me your address πŸ™‚

Kale chips so easy – pile them on a tray, spritz with oil and put them in the oven for 15-20 mins. You don’t have to flavour them but a sprinkle of salt, pepper, herbs keep the flavours fresh πŸ™‚

  9. I often joke that I eat my ketchup with a side of food… It’s DEFINITELY a yay for me. The only thing I prefer over ketchup is sweet and sour sauce… and that’s usually only if we’re talking fries from McDonald’s

  10. yup I have my nervous tendencies too but I’m told I come off as being confident. It’s all a sham though! Fake it till ya make it is what I say!

  11. cottercrunch says:

yeehaw! love that passion. You are great at it! and i can’t wait to see how this new gig unfolds! p.s. how have i not tried the squash and chocolate? p.p.s all your chocolate you sent is LONG GONE!

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. β€š'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
