CrossFit, Powerlifting and Party Berlin-Style

Good morning!

I appologize in advance if this post doesn’t make any sense. I am completely sleep deprived and probably have some leftover beer and gin in my blood. Shit.

But hey, it’s all MARVELOUS!

As mentioned on Thursday, I spent my weekend in Berlin, visiting Tim.

We don’t need to talk about my packing habits. I am not ready for that yet.

PackingI took the train this time, which was great! Except that my neighbours didn’t have any space next to me (hello mess) and really…..I hit the guy next to me when I fell asleep and then twitched crazily cause I probably dreamt that I have to do Double Unders or that I stumble over my own feet, or…..anyone else knows that?  Waking up cause of your own crazy movements during sleep? I swear, I frightened the whole compartement. We then were all awake, starring at each other (cough, at me, coughcough) and smiled embarrassed. Oh Lord.

Lucie Train At least I had my book and my pillow with me and caught some gorgeous views on the journey.

Train Tim picked me up at the station around 10pm, we cooked some food and then I fell into a sleep coma that wasn’t even normal anymore. I slept until 9:15 the next morning, got up and started to spread my mess all over the place.

Berlin I was tagged by Meghan to do a #stopdropandyoga Selfie. So I did that just the minute after I got out of bed. Embarrassingly enough, when I checked the other Yogis, they all did beautiful pics with professional poses on gorgeous places. While I stand here in a poor wanna-be-tree-pose in my tatty PJ’s. Go me!

LucieLater in the day after hanging around Tim’s appartment and writing, I went to myleo CrossFit to do a class. It was great! And I didn’t get lost on the way. #win

Naturally, I got some strange looks (#wtf blonde Swiss Chick, what does SHE want here), but fortunately I was able to do all the skills without a problem – ring L-sit hold – one of my favorites; plus rope climb is in our current strength cycle – , as well as the WOD. I gave my best to be a worthy representative of CrossFit Basel!

Berlin Berlin Berlin Errr….and then I had to walk back after I was gone for 5 minutes, cause I forgot my CrossFit Drinking Bottle there. Tell me something new.

Speaking of forgetting things – I forgot my transfer cable for my Canon at Tim’s place. Means, the actually GOOD pics won’t be posted today….You’ll have to wait until Wednesday, saarreeyyy.

I then picked Tim up from work and we drove home, I cooked dinner and again, I passed out before midnight and slept like a stone.

Saturday morning we went for a Powerlifting session at Tim’s Gym. Before we started, I did my mobility stuff, practised Double Unders, Handstand and Pull Ups. The moment when Tim took the pic of me standing on my hands, I actually managed to stay off the wall for about 7 seconds. Hehe. Anyone who reads this and can do a Handstand Walk, is probably like ‘#wtf get a life girl. You’re nowhere.’ But yeah, for me, these are tiny progress steps and I love it.

Berlin I always practise Wall climbs first – as I was taught so. Standing at the wall makes me arch my back too much, so Wall Climbs are actually better to practise. Finally I manage to touch my shoulder left and right with one hand for about 15 times – nearly dying, but I can do it.

And this. LOL. C’mon, it IS hilarious!!!!

LucieIs it obvious that I like balls?

I pulled them up 🙂 67kg (147,7lbs) my bodyweight and an 8kg (17.6lbs) kettlebell. Not from a hanging position though, but well – at least I was smiling.

Tim then tortured me of rounds of Deadlifts and Bench Press, Crazy Core Moves and other things that look easy and are shitty hard.

Imagine here some nice pics of my Photowalk through Schöneberg. ………..

The only one I got is this – Tim LOVES when I take selfies of us (dripping sarcasm).

Later at night, we met up with Tim’s friends and went out. We were the seven of us and it was such a fun night. We started at an Oktoberfest tent and I drank my first mass of my life. ONE litre of beer.

Scary, how big my smile is cause of holding a bucket of booze in my hand.

Berlin Or two??? Naa, I stole the other one from Melanie. One was hard to manage anyway, but I gulped it all down.

Berlin Berlin We moved on to clubs….Ritter Butzke, which I REALLY liked. It SO reminded me of my clubbing years – it was so nice to finally be in a good club again!

Berlin Berlin We returned home by maybe….5? I don’t know. Let’s forget that we only had liquid calories that night – we simply skipped dinner. Oh God. After 4 hours of sleep, I got up, packed my stuff, had breakfast, said goodbye to Tim and caught the train to Basel.

Party People :-)

Party People 🙂

Stay tuned for Berlin Pics on Wednesday. I have fishi’JEWoipj¨mef¨0iwj 0JWIKLDSMLÄDJS

SORRY. Got to go to bed now.

Did you ever drink a huge bucket of beer like this?

Clubbing, yes or no?

Crazy moves when you dream at night?

I have sipped beer but never finished one! Insane!

Love all of your posts. You live an exciting life compared to me!

  2. What fun! Your weekend sounds like a blast, Lucie :)! That beer picture makes me laugh- talk about huge ha! Sorry for the TMI but I find that too much beer makes me kinda gassy..1 bottle is just about all I can handle! As for wine or prosecco? The bigger the glass the better…and I’m sure you will agree with me on that ;)!

  3. WOW! Headstands, Pull ups..looks like Berlin did some good for you! Yikes girl!!! 😉 I am sure those peeps were like: “Damn this blonde Swiss chick!!!”.
I am sure Tim enjoyed your company specially if you had his tummy satisfied!
I think I actually don’t move at night…I am so tired I face plant in a weird position and wake up with marks of my sheets and covers all around my body..Great…not!!!

I love the giant beer – we went to Munich for our first anniversary last year. My hubby put away a few of those, but there’s no way I could manage it. I want to Oktoberfest now 🙂
Nice one on the handstand and weighted pull ups – I wish I could do that (working, working, working) xx

  5. I am offended that you weren’t wearing the traditional oktoberfest costume when you drank that!

Also…the chained ball suits you but DAMN. Those videos? You are a machine! I used to love clubbing but it’s been yonks since I’ve gone…may need to be rectified.

  6. I think my clubbing days have passed (I had enough of those in uni) but should I ever find myself in Berlin again you better bet I’ll be hitting the clubbing circuit.

  7. I started getting back into a clubbing phase lately…so we’ll see how long it lasts 😉 I’d definitely be hitting up clubs in Europe though! Now, to actually get my ass over there…it’ll happen eventually.

  8. hahaha! you and your balls, priceless.
I thrash around so much when I’m sleeping that I actually get injured in my sleep – I have thrown my shoulder out of socket, twice. Seriously. My chiropractor thinks I’m insane. I prob need a head doc, lol.
i say yes to clubbing, especially 80’s clubs. i don’t go often but when i do i love it!
    unce unce unce

  9. You look so beautiful because you look so genuinely happy. That makes me so happy for you! Also I would totally do the tree pose too haha hey, it might not be hard but to me that’s the epitome of yoga so why not?

  10. It’s been a while since I’ve been clubbing, but I used to go probably 3 or 4 times every week. Insanity. How I managed all that while going to school, I’ll never know. But the clubs in Europe are SO much better than the ones we have here! I go whenever I’m over there visiting family, so you better plan on showing me all the awesome spots if I’m ever in your neck of the woods!

  11. I’m thrilled you got to drink buckets of beer and go clubbing and I’m even more thrilled you were able to get some decent nights of sleep. Hopefully this means you’re totally recovered and have shaken that cold.

You need a second ball so you can have a pair of ’em.

Can I just say your smile is contagious? You look so happy and genuinely healthy!! Ps you’re a badass

  13. Oktoberfest…beer…clubs—I miss Germany! Lived there 1995-1996–I know I’m showing my age :O

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. ‚'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
