What I Ate Wednesday and an important question

6. August 2014 by swissfitchick

What’s first? The food? The question? The food? The question?

The question.

So here’s that. You are my readers, and I love you. I love your support, your positivity towards me, your comments and that you take your time to come to this little space of mine on the internet to listen to my ramblings. I love the blogger community and all the hilariousness that is happening behind the scenes and I am just very thankful you guys are part of this blogging journey of mine. Ok, enough KnickKnack now. But it’s true!!Thank you

Wait. I am not going to stop blogging. BUT! I want to make it BETTER for YOU. I want to engage you more and I want to know which topics are your favorites.

Now that I am close to be fully recovered from my Eating Disorder (hopefully), I can talk a lot about my experience, I can share tips that worked for me or I can support and maybe inspire others who are struggling. I am NOT an expert or a professional, but I guess I can help with telling my story. Are there any topics related to that subject that you are explicitly interested in?

What about recipes? Would you like to see more of them, and what kind of – snacks, breakfast, sweet, savory, glutenfree, paleo, dinner, desserts?

Any thought provoking topics you want me to start a discussion on? I try to keep them in my frame of knowledge, but sometimes it’s so interesting to throw out a theme and see what everyone has to say. I LOVE it.

Lucie’s Life? In all honesty, my life is wonderful, but it isn’t exciting. Or I just don’t tell all the exciting stuff. And I understand if your head crashes the keyboard when you read my weekend recaps or just think I am a self-obsessed narcissistic bitch (which is true). But this blog is MIIIIINE, so I won’t stop talking about myself, sorry.

Workouts – I am a lot more into CrossFit as you noted and I hope I don’t bore you to death with it in case you don’t do CrossFit. But it has become a big part of my life, so we have to roll with that. BUT – I could still share favorite workouts, PLAYLISTS or tips on YouTube videos, workout clothes I wear and love etc.

LucieLast but not least – what about Vlogs? I made a short one and a longer one so far – if you like that kind of posts I will try to keep in working on them.

Ok, folks, the round is yours – ENLIGHTEN ME. PLEASE, PLEASE provide me with your feedback! You can do that in the comment section or just drop me a Facebook message or an email. I WANT to hear from you!

Now on to FOOD! Thank you Jen!! Sorry Buddy, no shrimp today, but I photographed my scallops for you to drool, keep scrolling.

At the BBQ without light: fresh mango, cashews and a cookie. Yeah – look at the second pic…..

Dessert….this is how it actually looked, but since I don’t eat any frozen stuff, no sorbet for me. This was a strawberry-basil sorbet or something.

Sorbet Of course I ate countless of my Paleo Banana Chocolate Muffins.

Or a Lindt Chocolate Bunny.

It was in my face way too quickly. Why do chocolate moments always end so soon? Need more of them.

What do you mean, it’s not Easter? Who cares? As a matter of fact, I demolished my last Chocolate Santa Clause in late Spring. #eatallthechocolateallyearlong

That’s it for today – have a fabulous day!

Questions are above……

What does dorade taste like??? I’ve never had that type of fish.
I’d love to hear how you convinced yourself that it was ok to stop restricting your diet. How did you deal with the fear of weight gain?? How did you deal with family not understanding how difficult it all is?

    • Dorade is a very neutral taste – not fishy at all, so great to add tons of spices!
Great points. I totally know that fear and the struggle to explain things to others. Thank you for your feedback, it’s on the list!!

  2. Linda @ Fit Fed and Happy says:

I didn’t know you used to suffer from an eating disorder! So happy that you’re happier now 🙂 Your eats look so good, especially that nut butter. You also have awesome handwriting!

  3. Marianela says:

I would like to know more about your journey with the eating disorder. I struggle with that too, and I seem to be getting better. I would like to know more of your thoughts on it.

    • Marianela, first of all I am so happy you are getting better!
I realize i will need to roll out my story again in more detail – will do that! Thank you so much for your input!

  4. Angela says:

In terms of eating disorder, I was wondering if you could talk about the physical pain that comes with recovery – e.g. bloating, feeling of fullness, how you overcome negative thoughts after feeling like you ate too much, how fast the physical change comes, etc. thanks!

  5. Juliah826 says:

I was wondering if you could speak of relapse/and how you dealt with recovery, in terms of your eating disorder.
Oh, and more about you posts or day in the life posts are fun to read too, believe it or not.

In terms of food….I love paleo recipes:)

  6. Greta says:

Gorgeous ladie, gorgeous food – you have it all and that’s inspiring! Thank you for sharing YOU with us.
p.s. chicken breast in tomato sauce? I might have missed this recipe here. Must check, must make – looks divine 😉

  7. Honestly I love when bloggers post from their heart, i.e. whatever it is that they want to talk about…as long as you enjoy blogging, I am almost certain I’ll continue to enjoy reading your posts! That cookie looks phenomenal- is it shortbread? And snap on breakfast- I just had pancakes too :)!

  8. Even if you write about how to remove eggs or how to add salt to a salt shaker id still read.

To be completely honest, I think your greatest posts have been ones sharing your personal journey. I know many readers would and will Contonue to benefit from reading these posts- to see that there truly is light at the end of this harrowing illness- that there is hope- through living proof (in you).

And scallops….. Oh man. First davs, now you. Jelly jelly.

  9. Sarah says:

Playlists would be great. Also “Day in the life” kind of posts, and maybe your beauty routine, what prducts you use, or for your Swiss readers (like me :)), where to find nut butters, protein powder, bars, basically all the stuff I’d love ton find easily at Migros but have to rely on the Internet for…or on trips to the US

  10. Don’t you ever -dare- to stop talking about yourself. The day your blog turns into recipe after workout after recipe without the faintest hint of talk about personal life – I’ll stop reading. Honestly, I’ve stopped reading blogs in the past when there was no person shining through in their posts anymore, no real human I could relate to. So I don’t care what exactly you’re writing about because I think you’re a pretty awesome person. And because we both eat out-of-season/ old chocolate. #noshame

  11. I’m basically going to be the most useless person ever and just tell you that I’m happy to read whatever you want to write! I want to learn about you, so I’m perfectly happy with you talking about yourself and about your life.
Now as for the chocolate bunny…it’s all chocolate in the end, which is the most important part…who cares if it’s a tad out of season 😉

  12. I always have such a hard time answering when a blogger asks those kind of questions, because the reason I come to a blog in the first place is because I already like what they’re doing 😛 I love your personal posts; I love your recap posts; I love your recipe posts… basically, I just love you in general ❤

  13. Thank you for making these questions! Really!! I know it is hard to write about personal issues especially when they are so close to your heart and have profoundly affected you over such a long time. I feel that if you write about this topic you should definitely approach it in a positive way. With this I mean writing about things you have learned over these years, the foods you have come to love, the workouts you have tried and the ones you prefer. Although I would love to hear about your journey I think your present situation would be a wonderful example for me and for others. Thank you again!

    • Great points, thank you Elsie!! I always try to keep things positive, even if they are difficult.
I will definitely roll out my story a little bit more in detail to show how recovery is possible!

  14. I want to know where I can find Quark in the U.S.!! Everything you make with Quark looks so good!! 🙂

  15. July says:

What everyone else said haha 🙂 If you keep on showing all the different assets of your personality, I’ll definitely be a reader.
& I like your crossfit posts, they’re motivating!

  16. cottercrunch says:

i say post what your passionate about now! we love hearing about it and seeing! crossfit, paleo, etc!

  17. mooshka says:

Suggestions for those of us (ME!) who just don’t want to give up the “control” out of fear of gaining weight and losing control and being judged. Loaded question I know but Im about to turn 42 and kind of am at peace with this whole lifestyle despite my having no close relationships even with family.

    • Loaded questions are good!! Keep them coming! I know what you mean and I will definitely make a vlog or a post about this issue. Great points, thank you so much!!

  18. I love the handwritten note! I say you blog about whatever the eff you want. Of course we write about ourselves a lot… you have to be a bit of narcissist to be a blogger. 😉

Seriously though. It’s your blog, and you’re so hilarious I’ll read whatever you write. That said, I really like your recipes and seeing your Swiss adventures. Even if it does make me miss being there.

  19. […] a nicer note, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your feedback on my last post!! Seriously, you guys rocked my socks off and gave me subject matters to write about for at least […]

  20. Jen says:

I love all you write! I would also love to see photos of weird things in Switzerland, or wherever you are and your random, “Lucie-style” thoughts about them next to the photos. Like a photo of Swiss dog or garbage can or graffiti. Random things, beautiful things, ugly things, cool things. I want to know more about your world and Switzerland. I also like the photos of the weird things you do, like biking with your mattress. And Lucie gifs! Can you make your own gifs???? Like you dead lifting or stuffing your face with eggy oats or praying to your chocolate bar or face-planting into your pillow. Because you are silly and Lucie gifs would make the world a better place.

  21. Just keep doing/being you. That’s what I love about your blog. Give me a little crazy, some Crossfit, a ton of Lucie and I’m good.

  22. […] I am starting the first part of my series ‘my story’ – after asking you guys on what you like to read, I got a LOT of requests to tell my story more detailed and especially how I managed to recover and […]

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. ‚'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
