Guys – life is good.
Hi from Spain. Can we agree that travelling alone is MARVELOUS? It is!!!
There’s already a lot to tell so I try to keep everything short and let the pics speak.
Before I headed off on Friday morning, I celebrated the beginning of my vacation with Jonas my male Bestie or childhood BFF (I know he’s reading now. And laughing. Hi Sweetie 🙂 🙂 ) on the rooftop of Che Que Lomo, the fab place I’ve been with Laura too. It was such a glorious summernight and Jonas and me had the best time like always. Spending time with him is ALWAYS perfect.
Most important moment on the plane……I almost overslept it!! But I heard: ‘Schöggeli?` and I was wiiiide awake. (Schöggeli = Schoggi = Chocolate) Once landed I took the car and drove to the casita. First time on my own on the spanish highway. Interesting. And lots and lots of curses. Nothing new there. But I arrived!!
I was welcomed by summertemps and blue sky – SO beautiful!! View from the bedroom and the terrasse….. Saturday morning I made my way to the gym by bike. Cycling along the ocean is definitely a convenient way to get a workout started! I actually start to realize what a celebrity life is like. Whenever I am on my bike or running along the beach, my path is crossed by so many spanish cyclers. They grin and wave and shout at me – crazy. Friendly as I am, I smile and wave back – without a clue what I am supposed to say (my spanish is crab = non existing) – and then they freak completely out. HI-LARIOUS. I guess they should visit California one day where a blonde running girl isn’t so exotic 🙂 🙂
Of course I had to take a gym selfie in between all the spanish muscly men. I think they thought I am a freak spending my workout in THEIR free weights area. I wonder if I should let them know that there are other exercises than bicep curls too ?Perfect sheep situation on my way back….. Postworkout – practising handstand. My goal is to do pushups (I can do very very tiny ones but only with the wall) or a one handed at the wall. Still a long way to go…..Rest of the afternoon was spent sun bathing!! It is seriously SO warm and I can catch a nice tan. Definitely nothing to complain here.
As for my emotions, I am doing pretty well. There are moments when I miss Sandro, and I get nostalgic about our times here. Of course. But I also realize that I wore the ‘retrospective-glasses’ quite strongly the last few weeks and now – while I am here and the memories come back – I realize that definitely not everything was as pink and rose as I thought it was.
This morning I went for a beach run which was perfect as always – LOVE them!!
Do you speek Spanish?
