WIAW#61 – Oh hey there liver, what about a detox?

Poor organs. Poor liver.

Since I turned into a single from one day to the other my alcohol consumption assumed alarming proportions. Ok, that’s an exaggeration, but you hear me. I gobbled down prosecco pretty mindlessly – wait, the last 2 weeks I was even up for Gin Tonics almost daily and some Amraone and Whiskey with Laura. Bad girl.

Very similar behavior here with sugar – talk about cookies, chocolate, desserts…..I had them daily.

I was fine. I did not blame myself. I loved the drinks and you all know how much I love chocolate. I had my bad/fat days, but I never binged and my negative talk was kept to a minimum. I kept up my clean meals in between (lol) and my workouts. Means, with a surplus I gained quite some muscle and I look more athletic than I did a year ago, you can tell.

June 2013

Lucie6And I like it.

Though now it is time to lean out a bit – and since I didn’t have the energy to create my plans on my own with my rollercoaster life at the moment, I registered with Lean Bodies Consulting. I follow them since more than a year and their concepts and attitude convince me. Additional to that it will be a GREAT opportunity for me to learn more about my body, workouts and nutrition.

So day 1 was this Monday! I have 2 mealplans, one for Off days and one for Training days. And I must say – so far it goes very well. I am pretty sick of all the sugar and feeling bloated, so for the moment I am loving the clean foods and have no cravings (let’s see how long that lasts, haha ).

There is no cutting out carbs or fats or things like this. I eat a LOT of carbs and fats and it makes me HAPPY!!

Breakfast:

Eggs and Eggwhites, Oats and Vegetables

Eggs and Eggwhites, Nutritional Yeast and Vegetables

Postworkout:

Protein Smoothie with Oats or Fruit

Lunch:

Salad Greens with Turmeric Chicken and Broccoli and a LOT of Sweet Potato on the side

Dinner:

Seafood (here scallops) with spinach and quinoa

Bedtime Meal:

No fat Quark with Almond Butter

So this is only a peek – the days are different and the meal combos as well.

The workouts are intense, geeeez. No Cardio at the moment though – so curious how my body will resond to this! I totally trust the LBC Crew.

That’s it for today – Go and check more foodspiration and delicious meals over at Peas and Crayons!

wiawloveyourveggiesmonthbutton2Have you ever gone through a phase where you got sick of sugar ?

  1. Oh yes, post Christmas I haaaaaate it, and then new year’s arrive and…yes, well we all know what happens then! It’s fun though😉

Oooo eggs or avocado… I would say eggs are the primary reason I would be a rubbish vegan…

Just polished off a slice of Amanda’s banana break with chocolate chips🙂 I was feeling fancy and bought posh dark chocolate to smash up and put in it – YUM.

This looks great! I’m so interested as to the no cardio… Are you still carrying on with CrossFit?

    • Hahaha, I would be a total rubbish vegan as well🙂 No eggs, no way!!

And yes, I will carry on with Crossfit but cut back a little at the moment – but I never give it up!!

  2. Oh girl… my life after every holiday! Christmas is probably the worst since it’s basically a month long celebration, but Easter and birthdays can do the he same sort of thing. Woof. I do love my sugar, but there’s definitely a point where my body has had enough and all I want to eat are healthier foods.

I find the more I eat sugar, the more I crave it, so for the most part I try to stay away and it’s never usually a problem (although if I’m craving something I’ll generally oblige).
My favorite fat is probably . . . butter. Lots of butter on toast. So fatty and good. And not as unhealthy as some people might think!
I’m about to eat my favorite homemade recipe of black beans with white rice, cheese, avocado, and scallions. With a salad and some mineral water. Yum!

  4. LBC is the best!!! Never worked with them, but I totally would. Love all their Facebook posts. Let me know how you like working with them!

  5. While I’ll never give up sugar entirely…I definitely have days where I’ve felt like I’ve overdone it. Usually around my birthday and major holidays😉 But then my cravings pull me towards veggies, fruits, and generally more fresh food, so I can pull myself out of my sugar-filled black hole.

  6. I find if I eat out too much that I notice the difference in salt and sugar and I crave a salad or home cooked meal.

  7. Ow Ow! Check you out. Looking fineee :] Haha! In all seriousness though, I’m so happy you are loving this new program your on. Your meals sound and look awesome, and it really seems to be putting you in an good mindset & have you feeling goOood! :Proud of you for allowing yourself to indulge & not binge. You’ve come a long long way my beautiful friend.

  8. I hear you on being sick of sugar. Whenever I eat more than normal, my body naturally responds by amping up my cravings for fresh food especially vegetables. I am indeed eating right now…breakfast and that consists of overnight oats topped with banana slices, sunflower seeds, almonds & salt :)!

  9. I drink salmon fat. It’s quite possibly the sexiest sight on the face of the planet. Just saying.

  10. I’m so intrigued by this new diet and meal plan, Lucie- I’m especially appreciative that they aren’t shunning carbs or fats- the two macros which get the flack!

You, my friend, make eggs in any shape or form look so damn sexy.

    • You know what? I placed precut veggies in a bowl, poured over 2 eggs and 4 eggwhites and some nutritional yeast flakes and put it in the microwave. That’s all the sex there is🙂

  11. All I see in that first picture is nutrional yeast cheesy covered broccoli and zucchini rather than what it actually is – can you tell what I’m craving?! Actually, I see lots of broccoli which makes me happy. (:
Sugar overload? Don’t ask me about my childhood because I have some not so pretty memories there. These days I [think I] know my limits and haven’t felt sugared out in a while. Or at least my chocolate cravings haven’t slowed down assuming that’d be an indication.
I’m eating right now. Homemade granola. At work. Yay for the food but nay for the setting I’m eating in.

  12. I love sugar, in fact I’d say I was addicted but I have to avoid processed sugar as much as possible as it makes me feel terrible.
I think you look fab in your new bikini pic & your day of meals look fab, I love healthy fats such as coconut oil and nut butters etc & right now I’m eating muesli with greek yoghurt and berries…fuel for the day🙂

    • Yes, processed sugar is definitely not the best thing for my body feeling either – though I can not turn down some good Swiss chocolate here and there🙂
      Your breakfast sounds delicious!!

  13. Jess says:

My co-workers and I actually had a conversation today about losing our sweet tooth after quitting artificial sweeteners—pretty crazy!

My favorite healthy fat sources lately are avocado and tahini. I also cook mostly with olive oil—so good!

  14. Petra says:

I have been fed up with sugar for a while, I use honey instead. My favorite fat source is avocados. They are an energy bomb, but they are very healthy, full of nutrition and they taste awesome!

  15. Wait, wait, wait…you’re saying there’s something wrong with drinking booze on a daily basis. Well shit, that explains everything.🙂

I like to eat a little of this and a little of that. If I go decadent one meal, I’ll usually have lots more nutrient dense food the next and it all works out in the end.

    • Uhm no. I don’t think it’s wrong, I actually think it’s fabulous to drink booze daily. It’ s just my body who makes arguments…..and they are hard to ignore, we all know that🙂

  16. […] now that is really not true. We all know that I can drink #likeaboss – look back to the weeks in March after my break up….I was a gin-and-tonic-and-prosecco-bottle in walking human form – but I decreased the […]
