So you can imagine how happy I was when I woke up after several hours of sleep on my birthday (Friday, May 9th – mark your calendar) and this lady started singin’ ‘Happy Birthday’ from over her bed 🙂 (YES, we haven’t met each other before, and we slept in the same room. I think I snored.)
I REGRET that I did not take a pic of my flat these days – imagine two ladies in a tiny 1-and-a-half-room-appartment. Everything was ALL OVER THE PLACE. There was definitely not a lot of space left to set a foot on – but none of us cared and it was just a cosy mess. It felt like we lived like this since forever.
We got up and in true blogger fashion the first thing that came to our minds was FOOD. BREAKFAST. Though until it was actually time to eat, it took us a while…..preparing (all accompanied with chit-chatting non-stop), cleaning the bowls, decorating and then photographing. Wait, we carried all the stuff out to the patio to catch the perfect light. #sonormal #sobloggerstyle
Shortly after that I took her to my gym – of course by bike (Laura, how’s your butt?? LOL.) We both hit a great upper body workout and then stopped for a #twerking session in the changing room. A MUST.
We stayed and relaxed in the steambath and the Hamam Pool! It was sooo nice. Perfect Birthdaytreat. Then cycled home and then cycled to the grocery store to pick up the stuff for my party. It was a lot. Too much?? Haha. We couldn’t ride anymore and our bikes almost collapsed from all the booze and food 🙂 We finally showered (we smelled.) and then got all dolled up –
(aka – Lucie standing in front of the mirror for a solid hour not being able to decide which outfit. L1:’It’s too short. I can not wear this. I am too old for that.’ L2:’ NO! Look at those quads! You can wear this, it looks hot!’ I love her.) – and then rushed to the office (by car this time) to prepare the buffet.
Yes, I held the party in my office – cause our office is cool like that. And everyone likes to party. I loved having Laura around and introduce her to my friends and Mom and her to see where I work. Everyone loved her – how can they not? The party was super. I did have a little breakdown – first birthday wihtout the man after 5 years. Not easy. But I had all the support I needed there!!
A great night, but the BEST thing about it was the end. We collapsed into our beds by midnight and it started POURING outside. So we hung there each in her cosy bed, surfing in the net, posting pics and chatting on and off about the party – while listening to the rain. PERFECT.
Saturday (we slept in again – I love that we are both sleepyheads!!) – I got up while Laura was still in dreamland and went for a run. Then I cooked up a Frittata (Laura has pics, sorry) and then I brought her to the station for her trip to France. No like. I felt so odd by myself!! I worked all day at the office and was the happiest gal when Sylvia called me up to ask me over for a dinner and movie night. JUST what I needed! A healthy dinner, NO alcohol and SATC 2.
Just so you know (and I am sure you were dying to know this) – the massagepillow is a joke. It does NOT massage your back and it is SO loud you can not even understand your own word.
Sunday was LEGDAY (I spare you the whining. But I have a LOT of PAIN!! Nope, I am NOT whining.) and more work at the office. And mealprep!! I am officially in my first week at LBC!! So excited to see how it goes. First day down 100% adherence – that will only be for 2 weeks and then losen up. SO motivated (still).
Thank God Laura came back in the evening, I picked her up and we chatted about Dijon. I missed her! Today is Canyoning day for her. I did the same tour a few years back -and ohmygod it is soooooo cool. I can not wait to hear how she liked it.
Do you ride your bike on a daily basis like I do? I am SO dependent. Without my bike I am lost – I even cycle in rain and snow.
What do you provide for a party if you have to bring something savory? Laura’s Guacamole was so good!! And Sylvia’s pie as well – though it was supposed to be with ground meat, but I forgot to buy that. #majorfail
Favorite Chick-Flick? SATC. Hands down. I can NOT admit how many times I saw the series AND the movies.
