MIMM – Birthdayweek, Lauraweek, Snowboarding

5. May 2014 by swissfitchick

This is going to be such an amazing week, I am so excited I have NO CLUE how I should manage to fall asleep at night. I think I need a LOT of red wine these days!!

But let’s talk about the marvelous past days for now.

I went out on Friday with my brother in law. To be honest, I don’t know if he is that. He’s the brother of the wife of my brother. Get it? Me neither. Anyway, we had a great night out with good food at Noohn

My plate: Surf&Turf. Lobster, Sweet Potato, Shirataki Noodles, Beef Steak.

…and I made sure to drop in at Jay’s for an after dinner drink and announce my and Laura’s visit for this week. I used to work as a waitress in Jay’s Indian restaurant and we’ve been good friends since then – and like in old times, I was laughing tears that night cause we can’t behave like normal people when we’re together. I mean, we ARE not normal. Silly times.

On Saturday I had to do stuff in the office – which was ok, as it rained almost all day. But not without breakfast…..

After work I hit the gym for an intense upper body workout&sprints and then rushed to my new found favorite store to stock up on needs – it was 10% discount on EVERYTHING! You bet I went crazy in there. Thank God I was there with Mom’s car.

Saturday night was lazy, as I had am active day ahead of me – the last day in 2013/2014 Snowboard season! I cooked up some good food…..

….and did my laundry. Random note – can you please confirm that this happens to you as well – socks vanishing mysteriously in the washing machine??!! WHAT is this??SocksI got up at 5:30 on Sunday – threw on my Snowboard gear and packed food for the drive.

The day was amazing. We arrived at 8:30 at the slope and it was foggy – but it cleared up as the day went on. The BEST thing was the quality of the snow. This is such a huge and important part when riding. May is usually too warm for snow, but it layered down some fresh powder the days before and so it was perfect. Check out my poser video!!

Soooo…..I am thinking about quitting my job and becoming a full-time travel agent. Organizing Laura’s Swiss Trip is SO much fun – even though I sometimes run around like a chicken with my head cut off, I just love it. And I am embarrassed to admit how much I learn from my own country these days πŸ™‚ Laura will get to see places I have never been to!

Yay for Birthday-Laura-Week!!

Happy Monday everyone!!

What sentence in Swiss German do you want me to teach Laura? She will then present it to you by video πŸ™‚

Do you experience single socks in your laundry? WHERE the HELL has their partner gone?!

Do you celebrate your birthday only on your day? Or for the whole week? Month??

  1. Birthday week ALL the way! And you’re seriously making me so excited for the snowboarding trip I’ll be taking next weekend πŸ˜€ Late season riding is my absolute favourite. As for the socks… No idea. Black hole in the dryer is my guess…

  2. We are going to celebrate you birthday all week!!! I am never going to be be able to sleep. And you’re going to video me saying something in Swiss-German?! I want it to be a naughty phrase. πŸ˜‰ Jay sounds fabulous – so glad to get to meet him straight away! And I have presents for you!!! Wheeeee!

Woo hoo today’s the start of a super exciting week for you indeed…definitely celebrate your birthday all week long! I am glad it started on a delicious note…i am especially drooling at that surf & turf plate!

All that snow looks divine…I am currently blasting the air conditioner to try and beat the heat!

  4. Cat says:

Haha I definitely have to enjoy at least a week of birthday celebrations (though, this April felt like a whole month of it!)

I feel your pain on the sock conundrum – I only buy black socks now so I can ignore the fact that they slowly disappear into oblivion!

  5. I am so damn jelly!!!!! You guys are going to have a blast!

OH my, I thought it was only my washing machine that ate socks- seriously, I go through them like water. And can we also add job whore to your name? the number of jobs you’ve had, yet left a lasting memory on all of them πŸ˜‰

  6. At the very least, you need a birthday week…although I wouldn’t say no to a birthday month either πŸ˜‰ And I’m glad I own a million pairs of socks, because I’m pretty sure I lose one every time I do laundry…le sigh.

oh i don’t know where to begin with this post!?!? how about, YUM and uh… please be a travel agent. I want to come visit you next and vice versa!!

  8. damnnnn girl you are so bad-ass!!!!

I’m ashamed to admit how little I know about my own country and city. I have visitors this weekend and I’ll be going to the hockey hall of fame for the first time lol

  9. A lot of red wine is definitely the way to go ;-). You two are going to have so much fun! And now I want to go snowboarding…

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. β€š'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
