Good morning everyone!!
I hope your day is off to a great start! As much as I loved the past week with all the fun events, I am looking forward to some more structured days with normal brain function.
But let’s celebrate some marvelousness with a recap of my weekend with my office friends! Thank you Katie for the host!
I count myself very lucky to be part of this office and of this team and boss. We were able to travel to Valbella on the weekend to the residence of my boss. Before we left, I managed to absolve a great weightlifting session at the gym, followed by a massage. That was SO much needed.The journey in the train was already a blast – think about 11 crazy people who take off on Friday after work to spend a weekend together. We were all excited and started with drinks in the train.
After our arrival and wandering through the house in astonishment, we headed out for dinner. It was one of the architect-girls’ birthday, so we had to celebrate. We started with salad followed by – guess what – Raclette. What else if you spend time in the Swiss Alps? BUT – I will save the food for WIAW! The house is amazing. The first thing we did when we woke up the next morning was attacking the pool, whirlpool and sauna. If it wasn’t clear that we are people in the 20ies and 30ies, you would have guessed we’re a bunch of 13 year old school kids.
After being well fed, sledging was the plan. We walked for a while and enjoyed some beautiful views….
He was the brakeman (he’s a pro in real life – bonus) and I was the pilot. Good team. But before we started the race, we enjoyed some sun on the top of the mountain with baileys coffee!! I am not a fan of cream at ALL, so I fed it to my Sherpa🙂 But the coffee with baileys was soooo delicious. And then we hit the slope. And we won. :-)
It wasn’t a real competition of course, it was just so much fun. And everyone made it safely to the finish line! The next activity would have been hitting a coasting slide, but it was closed cause of some weather changes. We still had fun on the chairlift and with more walking.
Around 5, we were back at the house for another pool/sauna session – and before we were allowed to sit down for drinks and food, we went for an hour snowshoes walk in the dark and snow. It was SO HARD, cause it was steep and the snow was wet – tallk about an intense workout! We had a great dinner out, with an awesome menu and location. Foodpics to follow! I can not believe we stayed up until 1am after all we did that day. No wonder we had to sleep an hour more on Sunday – and enjoyed the pool for some waterball craziness unleashed the whole morning!! We had breakfast around midday and after chilling on the couch and cleaning up the house, we made our way back home.
Let me say, I am very, very, very thankful for all the shenanigans I was allowed to be part of this week. The Survivalrun, The Fasnacht, this Snowweekend….I was surrounded by so many amazing, wonderful and fun people and I was lucky to be able to spend time with them, on beautiful places and with perfect weather. I say this, cause I know this is not a matter of course and I don’t know how I deserve all this. But I appreciate every single moment, embrace it and make it a precious memory.
But I won’t leave you without any food. Since it is St. Patricks Day I want to present a GREEN recipe which I will link up to Davida’s ‘The Great St.Patrick’s Day Green Food‘ host! I can not wait to make these again next weekend…..I didn’t have pancakes in forever and these taste delicious AND are green!
1 scoop Protein Powder (I used Growing Naturals)
2 tbsp greek yogurt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 handful spinach
Blend spinach, eggwhites and Protein Powder.
Mix in Greek Yogurt, baking powder and spices.
