Hello and happy Sunday!!

We’re spilling it today again, thanks to Lamington Pancake&Co.

Spill-it-Sunday-option-2-1 Here’s today’s selfie. Sorry. I had some stuff done. D’you like it?

I promise, I’ll stop this silly Photo Booth crab as of now.

I like my look from anno 1983 better….

Ok, so now that that’s done, let’s look at today’s theme – childhood dreams vs reality. A tricky one for me, cause NOTHING came out the way I dreamt it – but it’s ok, it’s cool that way too!

What did you want to be when you were younger (career wise)?

Something with horses or a hair stylist. Yeah. Don’t ask. I do know how to ride horses, but don’t let me do someone else’s hair. A mess.

Ok, that was intentional!

What dreams did you have when you were younger?

Meet Aussie. (Insert hysteric laughter here).

Nope, I wanted to skydive, being a Flight Attendant, being a professional saxophon player and helping children in the 3rd world.

Are you in the same career path as what you wanted?

No. I wanted to go to university and speak 10 languages. I speak 2 fluent (3, if you count Swiss German) and 2 more or less (French&Italian). I did study, but on a technical college. I wanted to become a writer and a interpreter. And I wanted to be a Mum by age of 29.

I’m now an educated Flight Attendant, a graduated social worker, graduated massage therapist and a real estate management project assistant. I’m 35 and still not a Mom. Which is ok!!

Have you achieved any of your childhood dreams?

Yes. I did play the saxophone almost professionally, I worked as a Flight Attendant, I jumped out of a plane and I worked in a third world country for 3 months to help the people there.

Will you try and make any of those dreams realities?

Yes. I am still dreaming of playing the piano really well and I even own one, but it currently doesn’t fit in my appartment. But I will play one day, really well. Fortunately my Dad passed his brilliant musical sense on to me.

I want to conquer one more long travel before I will maybe become a Mum – and it is roughly planned for January-March 2015. Can.not.wait.

  1. Wow, Lucie- SO MANY life experiences you’ve had…and all in such a short time span! this is so inspiring. I love how bilingual you are too- that in itself, is one of the greatest assets to have- especially in today’s day and age!

And of course meeting me should be your LIFE goal😉 Let’s make it happen in 2014!!!!

You are an incredible lady Lucie- I admire your achievements and 35 is still plenty of time to have a child or adopt one if you really want to :)! My mama is a social worker by the way! I wanted to be an actor when I was little- think everyone goes through that stage- but I am a journalist and I love it😉 I would love to hear more about your current job some time- sounds very interesting! And I bet you had some fun times as a flight attendant🙂

  3. Okay so I just got ridiculously excited over your January-March 2015 plans… Squee! Does this mean I’ll be an aunt?😀

You’ve seriously had so many awesome life experiences, though, and working with those kids must have been amazing. I love that you’re so open to trying new things and really -living- life. I’m pretty sure that you’ll be brilliant no matter what you choose to do🙂

  4. Hi Lucie! Just stopping over from Arman’s link up, and I’m amazed by all the experiences you’ve had! WOW!

  5. You’ve had some crazy awesome life experiences…and wow, holy language skills batman! If I end up being able to speak two languages fluently (still plugging away at the french) I’ll be happy.

You have done so much – I’ve stayed in the same field and kind of wish I had something else I was passionate about too.
