Recipe Roundup – Dessert!

31. December 2013 by swissfitchick

Wait….shouldn’t we eat dinner first??

Oh well….I definitely sometimes eat my dessert first. Because seriously, isn’t dinner just the excuse to get through dessert? Ok, so here are my favorites!!

I first present you 2 of the ‘real’ stuff – means, they are not healthyfied and contain sugar and fat. OMGOMGOMG!!!! Heeyyyyyyy. Calm down. If you had the first bite, you will forget aaaaall about the ingredients. Because you will be sent to heaven.

The first one is my birthday cake. I seriously never had a more delicious chocolate cake than the one of my Momma. Plant face big time.

Choco Cake Choco CakeIf you live in Australia (I’m looking at you guys) and want to present a fresh and delightful summer recipe, I recommend that you make the Berry Tiramisu. It’s SO easy, it’s no bake and it’s super delicious.

Berry Tiramisu TiramisuOk, now that we fell into sugar coma, let’s look at some healthier stuff. Not that they would taste less delicious, but they have definitely some great nutrition facts.

If you taste one of these, you would never guess the secret ingredient which makes them so fudgey. Chickpeas. YES. #strangebutgood, and I mean REALLY good!!

Healthy Fudge BrowniesIf you’re not in the mood for baking, here’s something raw for you. This recipe is not originally made by me, I just made a few twists to skip the food processor (remember….and NO, I did not receive a new one for christmas. Thanks Santa/Sandro.) I made these for guests and friends and they were a serious hit.

Another no bake recipe which is made in no time. I love to serve these with coffee or tea, or they also make a nice little present in a truffle box.

RAW CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES (Recipe at the end of this post)TrufflesLast but not least, a more seasonal dessert for fall and winter. Cake. Warm and fluffy and doughy. Chocolate and Pumpkin. GF if you like and in form of mini muffins if you like.

Ok lovelies, maybe you will have to bring a dessert to the New Years’s Eve party tonight and can pick one of these – if not, I remain by wishing you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Love you all!

Chocolate, Cake or Cookie??

What do you eat first – dinner or dessert? Be honest.

What do you usually bring if you are asked to bring the sweet stuff to an event?

I live in NZ- and that berry tirimisu looks amazing! But truthfully I am actually eyeing your mums chocolate cake for my table tonight! Chocolate cake and cookies please! All equal- it just depend on the moment 🙂 I actually ate dessert before my lunch today (a cherry ripe- famous NZ/Aus chocolate bar) and I usually bring a chocolate fudge coconut cake or passion fruit pavlova or cheesecake 🙂 Happy New Year!!

  2. Oh you did NOT just ask me to choose between cookies, cake, or chocolate… Yes to ALL! Actually, right now I’ve got cake on the brain since my birthday is coming up soon… And your mom’s chocolate cake looks a lot like the one that my mom makes for my dad for his birthday. Definitely a European thing 😀

OMG! I love them all! I cannot choose one! I am usually the one taking care about dessert. I always try to bring one with fruits like a salad fruits or a crumble and another one with chocolate. Thanks for all the dessert recap!

Have a good new year’s eve

    • Haha, I know, I can not decide either – NEVER. I love a combo of all the three together 🙂
ANd I’m so thrilled that we share all these European traditions together!

You had me at dessert! 😀 And yes, dinner is just the excuse to eat it 😉

That Berry Tiramisu looks so creamy, and absolutely to die for! I can’t say no to coffee flavour usually 😛 Berries in summer though is a winning choice 🙂

I really do love the fudge brownies because I have a serious addiction to chickpeas – I would put them in just about anything, so dessert is the most obvious place hahaha, cottage cheese and chickpeas has been part of my post-dinner for too long now 🙂

    Happy New Year!

  4. Happy New Year my swiss Chalet!

I actually try to make my last bite of breakfast something savoury (usually have a sweet and savory component…unless its pancakes) because I’ve found I have a crazy sweet tooth if I end things on a sweet note thus- Sweets before should be a rule 😉

Love a pavlova- Actually, perfect as my best friends birthday is in a few days time (January 3rd) and she hates creamy desserts but loves Meringue! you genius!

    • Swiss Chalet – I like 🙂 🙂
That’s an interesting point that you crave more sweets if you eat them post meal. I might have to try that and eat it BEFORE all the time 🙂
      Aww! That’s great!

  5. Happy New Years, Dear! We must catch up after the holidays. I miss you!

Anyways – you have become quite the little baker these days. Seriously, I always know which page to come too when I’m looking for a good recipe. Those brownies look unreal and quite delicious. Next time you make a batch, can you pretend I’m there & maybe just eat one for me? 🙂

    • WE MUST CATCH UP – i’ts been waaaay too long since we last chatted!!
And I will definitely eat one for you, though I will also shead a tear for you not being here 😦

  6. Happy NYE!!! All of these desserts look fabulous and I totally agree, dinner is just an excuse to eat dessert. I’m going to be checking out that Berry Tiramisu!

  7. Dinner is always an excuse to get to dessert 😉 But cookies, cake or chocolate?! I can’t chooooooooooose! Chocolate is usually my go-to, but sometimes you just need a cookie or a big-ass slice of cake :-p

If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
