Guess what – I need a new Food Processor….

18. November 2013 by swissfitchick

Happy marvelous in my Monday! Thanks to our favorite diva for hosting!

Most important thing first – I made more nutbutter. Dark side: my Food Processor died. At least I think it did. I might try again next weekend – maybe with some kind of weird miracle of technology it will wake up again – hey, who knows? If not – then I need a Pre-Christmas Present e-f-f-i-n-g SOON!

Thank God it died AFTER I made all this #nutbutterporn:

IMG_2242I made a holiday flavor too!

Homemade Gingerbread Almond Butter:

  • Crushed Almonds
  • Ginger Bread Spice (or: cinnamon, aniseed, pepper, nutmeg and cloves)
  • PROCESS (if possible, not until your processor dies.)

AND I made some plain and pure Coconut-Almond-Butter (Grated Coconut & Crushed Almonds – PROCESS) which I must say, is my personal favorite so far.

I guess we are good with nutbutters for a few weeks….do I have a problem?

What else happened in the kitchen this weekend?

Oatmeal Cheesecrackers. We had them as an appetizer with some prosecco on Friday night, and….YES. SO GOOD. Let me know if you want the recipe.

Peanut Butter Fudge Pancakes with chocolatized yogurt. Do I need to say more? Recipe maybe? And a closer look?

IMG_2236Crustless Chicken or Tuna Quiche. I think I ate this three (THREE) times this weekend. And yes, I ate the whole by myself. I can not BELIEVE how easy it is! And light!! Let me know if you want the recipe.

IMG_2227 IMG_1145Heather’s Pumpkin Cornbread. Don’t worry – this recipe will be up on her blog today. And you better run into the kitchen and make it RIIIIIIIGHT away. Seriously, I had to stuff 7 strong peppermint chewing gums into my mouth to prevent me from eating the whole batch in one sitting. It IS to die for (you probably guessed so by now)! One note – I did not have cornmeal on hand, so I used peanut flour. So it’s Pumpkin Peanut Bread and, did I already tell you…..right. TDF. Sorry.

Uhm, yes, I did some other stuff than demolishing my kitchen. I went to the outdoor Bootcamp class (in the COLD!!!), lifted weights at home, AND I also made my own Spinning class at home.

I went on a date night with Sandro – we had dinner at Steinfels. We shared salmon crostini to start:

IMG_5569And then I had a California Salad with baked salmon (MORE salmon??). I think I had this several times before and was never disapointed (despite the horrible light). Here are Papaya, Cottage Cheese, Caramelized Pecan Nuts, Cucumber, Salmon, Baby Tomatoes on a huge bed of greens.

We then went to the cinemas.

thor_trainer(GASP! Cough, cough, cough, ‘HOLY SH***!’ – cough, cough, siiiiigh….)Yeah, girls. I know. Does his body have its own Instagram account yet? I need to do some stalking research.

I almost ran across the cinema doing a perfect dive roll to lick touch the screen. Sandro refused to talk to me after this movie. Haha. 🙂

Wait, the movie was called THOR – The Dark World. Just in case you were interested.

I wore my own armor – now I just need a sword and Nathalie Portman’s lips.

Second date was the next morning at 10am!

#TWERKIT on the Ice!!!!

#TWERKIT on the Ice!!!!

I loooooove Ice Skating! And Sandro could take revenge on me for my drooling over Chris Hemsworth’s muscles the night before. He is far better than me in Ice Skating. So mean, I mean seriously.

We took a break after 1 hour of skating to have breakfast. I brought my oats, which I infused with some Spirulina powder. I think I need to limit this version for eating at home, cause…..I mean, we all know that ugly food tastes best, but this one, now seriously…..THIS crosses the limits of grossness.

I ate it anyway.

Another break to wash down the last bits of oats in my teeth….sorry TMI.

IMG_5574Latte Macchiato with Ovomaltine!! I know SO unusual, but gooood – and it makes it easier for me to drink coffee.

Last kitchen errands on Sunday: I did Amanda’s Double Chocolate Mug Cakes, but I made them in a jar and in the oven – what a PERFECT little birthday or christmas present! Add a little glitter and a candle and there you have it.

And yes, I SOAKED this one in chocolate sauce. It was for Sandro’s parents, I hope they liked it!!

And the finalized birthday show:

IMG_1496Theeeeen to end this weekend on a tasty, comforting note: Heather’s Pumpkin Chilli. With a ton of ground chicken. YUM.

Any kitchen successes lately?

What was the last movie you saw?

  1. Ha ha Ha Ha @ all your nut butters (some may think your outta control but I personally think it’s normal) & to the photo Sandro snapped of you falling on the ice. What a funny guy 🙂 🙂

p.s. a broken food processor? oh heavens, you poor poor thing. Let’s hope that Santa read this post.

  2. Lady… I can’t even handle all the marvelous things in this post! First of all… the food — omigosh! Nut butters, pancakes, chocolate, quiche, and chili? I can’t even pick a favourite. Second… you are TOO cute on your skates! I’m Canadian so I’ve basically been skating since I was born 😛 But it’s not something I do all that often anymore — these days I usually snowboard in the winter. And Thor… 😯 😯 Yeaaaaah I’ll be going to see that one…

  3. Omg girl! Marvelous OVERLOAD!!! Too much…I can’t stand it! The nut butters, the ice skating, my recipes, all THAT DAMN FOOD!!! 😯 I’m salivating! Oh wait, that’s just the picture of Chris Hemsworth! Yeah, I was totally undressing him with my eyes in the theater on Friday night…and the man-friend is none the wiser! 😉 Haha!

I’m not much of an ice skater what with my lack of grace and never ending clumsiness, but on the off chance that I AM able to stay upright for more than 5 minutes, it’s a lot of fun! Thanks for reminding me that I need to make Amanda’s mug cake…LOVE that picture with the sparkler! Oh and I just want you to know that you look absolutely GORGEOUS!! Love you! xoxox

    • awwwwr, thanks gorgeous!
I think we need to organize a girls blend to watch THOR 3!! No men! Haha 🙂 Poor seat neighbours…..
The mugcake is really delicious and unbelievable easy – perfect for a lazy kitchen ass like me! Long recipes turn me off, seriously – not so much Chris Hemsworth, hahaha 🙂

Before we get started, can we talk about how HOT you look on that ice?! How did you not melt it all ;)? You are seriously GORGEOUS!

Now, onto the food. The gingerbread almond butter looks insane. How good would that be sandwiched between a couple of gingerbread cookies? Mmm.

  5. “Let me know if you want the recipe” YES YES YES!!!!
Also, I killed my food processor last spring after making 7 different nut butters, so I feel your pain. Guess I just need a vitamix?
You are so stinkin’ cute! The movie outfit, the ice pics–Love it all! xoxo

  6. This post should be illegal.

So much goodness going on I don’t even know where to start.

    1. The pancakes
    2. The crustless quiche
    These two = MUST.

Love the ice twerking. Where CAN’T we twerk these days huh 😉

    RIP food processor…until next weekend.

  8. Oh no your poor processor! Disaster! I love ice skating too – there is a rink in the town where I work (and used to live, which was great – now I moved in with Mr PoP it’s now 35 miles away), and we usually have a few temporary rinks that come for the Christmas period 🙂 So fun, and great for you! Your recipes look amazing – please post them all! Also, any ideas for savoury Winter breakfasts? I’m in need of a change-up, but need some inspiration! Hope you’re having a good Monday 🙂

new reader here, and must say I am loving your recipes so far!!!!

  10. Seriously considering packing my things and planting myself on your couch, just so you can cook/bake for me! Everything looks so, so good! And now I’m regretting the fact that I didn’t have pancakes for breakfast. Those might have to happen for lunch 😉 Also, you look so cute in that hat!

  11. Okay, so everything obviously looks even better on the computer than on my little phone via Instagram! Why do you live so far away?! I want to come over and eat all of your food. I actually do not like ice skating. I know, I know, that’s weird for a Canadian but it’s true. I had a pretty scary experience (I will save you the bloody details) when I was little and have been turned off ever since.

  12. […] that I am drowning in self-pity cause I killed my food processor, and I have to wait until I found one on a reasonable price (why do the BF’s not understand, […]

  13. So much marvelousness. I love that black jacket/vest thing. So hot. Loving your smile and happiness 🙂
