OKAY, be prepared – if you are a nutbutter fan (if not, then you might want to look at the pics and then you are) – you will LOVE this recipe.

When I successfully finished that deliciousness, I couldn’t even believe how similar they looked to the bought ones and how ahahahaha-mazing they tasted!!! I almost died and went to heaven.

Salted Vanilla Cinnamon Almond BUtter & Cacao Coconut Almond Butter

I admit, I didn’t make these with whole almonds – I bought already crushed almonds, the same with coconut. I was freaking scared that I would kill my food processor if I throw in the whole nuts. Speaking of – the poor processor did faint during the process and I had to wait 4 years half an hour to restart when the baby was cooled down and woken up again. Oh my.

I stop babbling now and give you the recipes:

Salted Vanilla Cinnamon Almond Butter

IMG_2139The combo of the 3 spices, seasalt, vanilla and cinnamon together with the nuts – bliss. I recommend to mix it with a tiny bit of honey and you will be in nutbutter heaven.

Ingredients: 

200g or 2 cups of crushed almonds

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

1 tbsp ground vanilla

1 tsp seasalt

Preparation: 

Mix all the ingredients together.

Put them into the food processor and start processing.

I stopped it every minute to scratch down the mixture and then started processing again.

Repeat this process until it starts to get creamy (about 7-8 times).

Once it starts to get creamy, keep processing until it reaches the consistency you like.

IMG_2138And here’s the Cacao Bliss. It’s no a secret that I am addicted by the Cacao Coconut Bliss from Artisana – but honestly, my own creation is even better – and 437073 times cheaper (especially without the shipping costs!)

Cacao Coconut Almond Butter

Ingredients:

200g or 2 cups of grated coconut

80g or 1 cup of crushed almonds

3 heaped tbsp raw unsweetened cacao powder

2 tbsp powdered stevia or sweetener of your choice – it will probably be even more blissful with honey!!

Preparation: 

Same procedure as above.

  2. Oh my heavens, these look to die for. I got on a homemade nut butter kick a while back, but lately I’ve just been buying store bought peanut butter because my food processor broke. Dang thing.

  4. Oh. My. God. I just bought freshly ground cashew butter from Whole Foods (usually I just stick to almond butter) and I fell in love. I’m definitely going to try the salted vanilla cinnamon version using that.

    I’ve only ever made the butters simply from the nuts themselves. Seems so logical now to add a bit of flavour here and there to REALLY bring out the awesomeness🙂 Cinnamon works with everything, so I’ll be sure to remember to add a bit next time😉 Homemade always trumps everything hahaha

  13. Confession: the reason I’ve avoided making my own nut butters is because I’m afraid that my food processor will spontaneously combust if I try, but I’d be willing to sacrifice it for these! Holy.yum. The salted vanilla — be still my pounding heart.

  14. Whoa! Those just blew my mind! I want to make those RIGHT NOW! Unfortunately I do not have a food processor….I tried them in my blender, but it took FOREVER and I think my blender about died! Maybe that will be my christmas present! Yum yum YUM! Thanks for sharing!!!

    • I definitely think it IS a sign!! It’s perfect if you make your own, you can scarf it down without being guilty of spending too much money🙂
      And a processor for christmas – PERFECT GIFT!!

My neighbors also hated me since I left the processor on for an hour haha I’ll have to buy crushed ones next time but omg these look amazing!! Living in Bangkok I now understand how you feel not being able to just buy all the fun health things so making stuff has been my only option and of course a better one 🙂 lots of love and fun your way xx C

    Homemade butters are so much better, you can adjust the flavor, texture, and saltiness to suit yourself. These look amazing! And don’t feel bad about burning out your food processor, I do that to mine all the time. My boyfriend actually suggested that maybe I look into an industrial-grade food processor😛.

  19. Oh my gooooodness. Fair enough to give a warning at the top of this post – these look amazing. You should start a nut butter business – truly needed in Europe!
    So the chocolate variety does really taste like Cacao Bliss?! I’ve spotted it at Veganz but the price made me walk away very quickly. Did you use NuNaturals stevia packets when you say “powdered stevia”? I’m really intruiged to try this one … or both, really.

    • That sounds like a brilliant business idea – I need to think about it!
      I don’t have NuNaturals Stevia, but the powdered one we get here is the same. And I can assure you that it DOES taste like the Cacao Bliss!

    Seriously, you are a FREAKING GENIUS!! I have a huge thing of almond flour that I bought on a whim almost a year ago and have made maybe ONE thing with it. I don’t even know why I bought it since I’m not a huge baker anyway, but now I know…so I can make ALMOND BUTTERRRRRRRRRRR…without killing my teeny tiny baby food processor! Haha!

    Favorite nut butter: PEANUT BUTTER…in any way, shape, FLAVOR, or form!😀

      Though I am not sure if you can make it with almond flour – cause you need the fat that’s in it and flour is de-fatted as far as I know. So you’ll have to look for crushed almonds!
