Peach Chocolate Yogurt Layer Thingy

10. October 2013 by swissfitchick

Ok, that title is weird. But I really don’t know how to name this dessert, so it’s that ‘thingy’ how I called it when I presented it first in my WIAW post yesterday.

Now what can I say – it is SO easy to make, it tastes like, errrr……dessert (obviously) and it is approved from the man AND his parents! It might be more a summer dessert, but it can be easy adaptable to a winter dessert, cause there is yogurt all year long, right? Thank God.

Peach Chocolate Yogurt Layerย Thingy

IMG_1564 IMG_1562Ingredients (4 layered desserts in glasses):

6 containers of plain greek yogurt ร  125g (as we don’t have greek yogurt in Switzerland, you can use Magerquark or Blanc Battu) – you can use one big yogurt container, they just didn’t have them in Spain.

4 peaches (for a fall dessert, swap this with – you knew it – pumpkin)

2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

3 heaped tbsp raw unsweetened cacao powder

cinnamon (not measured)

vanlla (not measured)

stevia (not measured)

Mix 4 containers of yogurt with cinnamon, vanilla and honey. Just use as much of the spices as your taste requires. Don’t blend!! I did that and the yogurt turned out all liquid.

Layer the bottom level of the glass with that cinnamon honey yogurt mix.

Puree the peaches or the pumpkin. Sweeten if you like – I just left it plain.

Layer the second level with that fruit puree.

Mix the 2 left yogurt containers with the cacao and add a little stevia.

Put the chocolatized yogurt as top layer. Decorate with fresh mint.

If you want this to be more like Ice Cream; freeze it for an hour! Otherwise just keep it in the fridge and then enjoy.

Thanks for linking my GF & Vegan Fresh Peach Crisp. Your stuff looks marvelous.

  2. I do believe these layered desserts are called parfaits, but thingy sounds like something I would say as well ๐Ÿ˜‰ Whatever you call it, though, it sounds delicious. And I have to agree with you that squash is probably the best fall food, but apples definitely come in a close second.

  3. Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli says:

How about a parfait…Cocoa Peach Parfait! Sounds great to me…especially with the “chocolatized yogurt”! Though I have to say I’m ALL over the idea of a pumpkin layer! YUM!

Oh and it’s no secret to you anymore but I’m over the top obsessed with squash. Since kabocha hasn’t been available anymore around here I’ve switched to spaghetti squash. I hadn’t appreciate by far enough until now but it’s sooo good.
