Friday Favorites – I just want you to dance with me tonight

30. August 2013 by swissfitchick

It’s Friday! Finally!

I can not even start to tell you how ready I am for this weekend. It’s been a busy week and it’s been 2 weeks since I spent my last weekend in Zurich, so I truly look forward to be at the lake and relax.

Can we start off this post with the favorite fact of this week? I always knew chocolate is good for us.

Yeah. I think it’s an obligation to tell the truth on a blog.

And because I want you all to get in a good mood with me, I ask you to listen to Olly Murs. I am on a kick. He was the guest star at the Robbie Williams concert, and let me tell you, he is a gem at life performance. My favorite song of him makes me wanna shake my bootey right here in the office on my desk in front of my PC, yelling around ‘I just want you to dance with me tonight’. Maybe I should try it and see what the reaction of my boss and coworker is. No big deal. Are you in?

Speaking of music, I think it’s HIGH time for a new workout AND kitchen playlist! I know you agree that music in the kitchen (inclusive dancing around the stove, using the pepper mill as a microphone) makes cooking and baking even more enjoyable. And it’s not optional to wear an attire of sweatpants, Ramones T-Shirt with spots of eggyolk and balsamic vinegar on it and a messy bun while doing it.

Did I already mention that I love my man? He sent me daily quotes this week – they were in my Inbox the moment I entered the office and made me start my day on a sweet, inspiring and motivational track. LOVE IT.

My mornings this week. TODAY’S morning, I sleep in……Friday is my day off, so that explains everything. Sleeping in is so blissful and as much as I love the very early morning hours, giving my body a few hours more rest just feels great.

On the other mornings this week, I enjoyed the emptiness at the gym. A main reason why I get up so early. Cause let’s all admit, we are not particularly interested how some men sound when they have an orgasm. Cause that’s probably the same sound they make when they’re lifting weights.

One of my favorite parts of the workout is stretching. I ALWAYS finish my workouts with stretching and foam rolling, as I know my body needs it and it is important for my recovery. My hamstrings and inner thigh muscles are the tightest – stretching them with a Yoga Strap daily helped tons!

Before leaving home to get here, I pack my prepped meals – there is no way I leave my house without food. Here is postworkout smoothie (meal 1), meal 2, 3 and 4. Dinner is eaten at home on a PLATE.

I am back at my Yoga Studio! So thrilled. I don’t know what took me so long to finally renew my membership. I was at my favorite class (taught by my personal trainer Markus) on Wednesday lunchtime and I could SO feel that my body loved it. As much as I love my weight lifting circuits, bootcamps and Interval Cardio, Yoga is simply wonderful. Like a sip of water for a thirsty body.

That’s it for today Lovies! Have a wonderful weekend!

Do you do Yoga?

What is your favorite song currently?

Do you agree that chocolate is healthy?

  1. Totally agree!! Stretching is soo important and it makes your muscles look better too. 😛 I always make time to stretch and roll after a workout. For me, my glutes, ITB and calves are always tight. I’m trying to do more exercises to target my inner thighs these days because my muscular imbalance (ITB vs. Inner thighs) is sooo crazy and it’s the cause of my knee pain. Sigh.

  2. Yeah, the gym-sex noises SO aren’t cool. It almost makes you wonder how ridiculous they sound when they’re actually doing the deed. Grossssss.

And yeah, chocolate is the healthiest.

  3. I think Chocolate can definitely be healthy (in moderation of course). I have like 10 songs of various genres that I am pretty much listening to on repeat right now…

  4. Errr chocolate is absolutely healthy…the same logic works with carrot cake, no? I’m trying to make more of an effort with stretching as I know my body more than appreciates it….even 5 minutes after every workout makes such a difference! Love those quotes from Sandro, especially the 2nd one. As hard as it is to believe sometimes, tough times are only presented to tough people :)!

    Hi Lucie!

Chocolate is definitely healthy ;-). I saw the same image yesterday on instagram and loved it!!
I like Yoga but usually I stretch a lot with the core barre class, so I feel its enough. But after each workout i do some stretch.
Right now I love a lot of songs. Everything that is up tempo and help me running 😉
Those quotes from Sandro are really sweet and nice. Such a good start of the day !
Enjoy the week-end with your Man and the sunny weather in ZH!

  6. I came across that chocolate graphic a few times this week and it definitely gave me a good laugh. I always figured that everyone knew chocolate was healthy. I mean… it’s good for the heart, right? Plus all those other psychological benefits 😉 As for yoga, I don’t do any specifically, but I follow some basic routines and do a lot of stretching everyday. I’ve actually always wanted to try out a group yoga class, but just haven’t gotten around to it.

    Happy Friday, love!

  7. I used to be SO against chocolate, maybe because I could eat an entire bag of chocolate chips in one sitting, NUTS I know! I now see its benefits to me as I do love a sweet every now and then and dark chocolate does have antioxidants.:))) Hope you have a great Friday! Love you doll!

  8. Completely agree with the chocolate thing! I have a couple songs that have me literally Dancing on the treadmill! Sara Bareilles: Brave is one of them!

  9. Best quote about chocolate ever! I’m totally replacing all of my salads with chocolate now 😉

  10. Haha I loved that chocolate tidbit when I first stumbled across it and still love it just as much. Although technically, it should really say “cacao” 😉 Oh wow I can’t even tell you how envious I am that you are back at a yoga studio, if only I could find one near me that fit my schedule and is, well, free…

i don’t even eat chocolate, not a huge fan, but i DO AGREE.. IT’s HEALTHY! Good for the mind, body, and soul. Well, a little goes a long way, yes?

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. ‚'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
