Ok, we all know by now what happens on a Wednesday. It’s WIAW on the blog and we all get to stalk each others food days!

Last week, I posted my eats and routine of a workday. So clearly, I am not working seven days a week and love to switch up my routine on the weekend. Which is different every weekend too, so here’s just an example:
00:00/01:00/02:00 AM: Coming home from dinner out, cinema, friends event, concert etc. – and collapsing into bed. Depending on how tired I am, I sleep in – talking about 9-10 hours (BLISS!!) and take a restday, or I get up around 7/8 am so I have time for a morning workout. Getting up later than usual makes me eat breakfast before my workout, which I don’t do during the week – definitely sits better in my stomach than at 5 am.
My current breakfast obsession: Sweet Eggy Oats. When they sit overnight, they almost turn into a oatmeal bake which is even more delicious.
A little later, I get my workout done. I love to take the chance to do Interval Cardio at the lake, but before I do that, I hit a strength workout in our meanwhile nicely equipped home gym. Workout time: Something like 9am – 11am.
Right after, fueling with my protein shake and some nuts or a little fruit.
Obviously while catching up on some blogs.
The rest of the day is easy with the man – grocery shopping, spending time at the lake, cycling, drinking tea and reading at Starbucks etc……
….until it is time for another meal. I would call it lunch, but it happens around 2-3pm, so maybe more like a bigger snack.
I used to eat only twice on weekenddays, I had a huge brunch and a huge dinner – and I never felt good with it, my stomach just couldn’t handle it. So now, I break the big meals down to 4 smaller ones (on workdays I eat about 5 small meals) and this works a lot better.
Later in the afternoon – around 4-5pm – Sunday meal prep happens.
….along with cooking dinner! If we are staying in on the weekends you bet we turn on the grill. Actually, we even make BBQ’s in winter. I mean, as long as I can stay inside and prepare the veggies while Sandro is freezing his butt off outside at the grill, all is well, right? 🙂
Dinner is served around 6:30 – 7pm.
I made this bowl just recently and I was so surprised how delicious it turned out! I was definitely sad when the last bite was gone.
A perfect end of a perfect weekend is – CHOCOLATE.
Sunday night is the laziest of all – savoring the last few hours of our weekend until I have to go back to Basel for work. We love to go for a short evening walk at the lake, and spending the evening on the couch with trash TV and passing out early.
Here you have it – an example of a weekend day!
What is different on your weekends compared to a workday?
Do you go out for dinner a lot? I used to go out a lot, but since I discovered cooking a bit more, I love to eat in – eating out at friends or at a restaurant happens about once a week – but I enjoy it even more!!
