Sunshine Award

20. August 2013 by swissfitchick

Good morning! Instead of a recipe, I will join in an award nomination today
– my lovely friend and blogger Amanda nominated me for the sunshine award, which is so nice of her and I am more than happy to join in this fun and answer her questions.

The Rules:

1.  Include award logo in a post or on your blog.

2.  Link to the person who nominated you.

3.  Answer 10 questions about yourself.

4.  Nominate 10 bloggers to receive the award.

Amanda’s questions:

1. If you had to move to another country, where would you move and why?

California, and if possible, San Diego. I spent 2 months there many years ago and I fell in love. I am a fan of the US, and California just offers the pleasure of living near the beach, cities and hills. My dream!

2. Would you rather live in the country or in the city?

CITY. I am totally a citygirl. As much as I love to go outdoors, enjoy the nature or relaxing on a quiet place for a few days, I ALWAYS miss the sweet hectic of a city and all its offerings. Though it is important for me to live close to nature like I do now in Zurich (forest and lake) or in Basel (park, forest, hills).

3. If you could try out any job for a day, what would you like to try?

Professional Travel Blogger. I mean, who doesn’t want a job where you can go and try out new hotels and places??

4. What’s your favourite part of your body?

Eyes, lips, legs. Ok, these are three, but oh well, I like 3 parts of my body.

5. What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I used to dance Rock’n Roll when I was about 11 or so. Yeah, I was hilarious like that. It looked really stupid me dancing Rock’n Roll, believe me and I did not have on of these cool dresses! Thank God I switched to Hip Hop as a teenager, which I was much better in 🙂

6. If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say?

Loosen up, let go and enjoy the moment.

7. What are some of your favourite books?

Everything that plays around 1800 – 1900. Especially fictive women stories. Or the books from Nora Roberts. They might not me super intellectual, but I just LOVE the easiness, romance and entertainment in her books.

8. If you were going to write a book, what would you call it and what would it be about?

Hmm. I think I would write the story of my Mom how she grew up. She had such an interesting/funny/tough childhood and teenage years. I love to hear all about it when she tells stories from back then. Now I need a name for this book. Suggestions?

9. Name three things hanging out in your fridge door.

Essie Nail color, Chamapgne, Nut butter. Essential things in my life, believe me.

10. What do you want to be remembered for?

That I was a smiling person.

My questions:

1. If someone would produce a movie about you, who would you want to play your role?

2. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

3. What would you change in this world if you had the power?

4. Speaking of power – if you could chose, what superpower would you want to own?

5. What was your career aspiration when you were a kid?

6. Where is your favorite place in this world?

7. And which place do you dream of visiting one day?

8. How do you get through your day – cycling, walking, public transport, car?

9. When was your last dinner out and what did you get?

10. Do you know how your parents would have called you if you were a boy?

My Nominees:

  1. YAY Thanks for the nomination I can not WAIT to post this 🙂 I love SAN DIEGO too its such an awesome place + nut butter DUH! I didn’t know about putting essie in the fridge does it help it last longer? Random advice would be live each + everyday with a SMILE, fridge door is almond butter, salsa and dijon mustard and I would rather live in a city, I am a city gal as well 🙂 Love You doll!!

  2. Woo! Loved reading your answers, Lucie! 😀 And I also loved the fact that you listed more than one thing that you love about yourself… Heck, the more, the better! But I do have to ask… why the Essie in the fridge? That’s honestly the first time I’ve ever heard of anyone doing that…

And for your questions… the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is check my phone. Such a horrible habit, and one that I really need to cut out. And if I would have been born a boy, my name would have been Adam, after my dad. Thank goodness I came out a girl… I don’t want to be a Junior!

    • Yes, I always store my nailpolish in the fridge! They last longer, don’t get that dry and sticky so soon!
Oh, I am happy too that you came out a girl. Amanda is beautiful, Adam is….ok 🙂

  3. Ah you’re so sweet, thanks for the nomination Lucie :)! Loved reading your answers and getting to know you! If you ever hear about a vacancy for a Professional Travel Blogger (and you’ve already landed a similar role), please do pass it on- that would be IDEAL! Getting paid to do what I love sounds like a dream! You’ve gotten me all intrigued about your mom’s childhood- any chance of her writing a guest post?

    • Oh well, let’s just create a travel blog together and conquer the world! this would be amazing….
Haha, I besides that Mom does not speak English, I think she would be too shy….but maybe if I talk to her long enough she will give in!

  4. Your essentials sound very smiler to mine, I love it. 😉 Does refrigerating the nail polish really help?

  5. I’ve always wanted to visit SD, oh and SF! I’ve heard both those cities are incredible.

    1. I’d want Reese Witherspoon to play me. I get that we look alike all the time
    2. I check my temperature
    5. Orthopedic Surgeon
    10. Well they actually thought I was a boy.. so I guess Jessie 🙂 lol

  6. Thanks for nominating me Lucie! Love hearing all your answers! I will totally move to San Diego with you! That’s my dream place to live too! I think we should go 🙂

  7. Caitlyn says:

man i’d love to be a travel blogger too. i don’t think i could do it for too long but it’s such a sweet gig! i want to visit cali too- i’m thinking i’d never leave if i did though, haha.

  8. I love learning more about bloggers! I have to ask though – why nail polish in the fridge?
    1. When I was in high school I got told all the time that I looked like Julia Stiles, so she seems like the obvious choice. But I really love Emilia Clarke (she plays Daenarys on GoT) so I’d probably pick her.
    10. Brian Richard. I am so, so happy I wasn’t born a dude.

    • Hey, that’s right! You look very similar to her!
I like Brian! But Sam is definitely so much better 🙂
Yeah, it works – Nail Polish in the fridge makes it last longer!

  9. Thanks fo the tag! I would be a travel blogger too – getting paid to see new places?! Perfection.

  10. cottercrunch says:

wait, nail polish in the fridge? Do tell me why! and yes, your smile is memorable, it’s BEAUTIFUL!

  11. And thanks for the nomination, girly, I definitely didn’t see it when I first commented! 🙂

  12. Lisa says:

Yay! So excited you nominated me! Can’t wait to do this.
I definitely love getting to know you better – so surveys are always a good thing for me:)
I need to know why you put your polish in the fridge! I have never heard of that before!
    So sweet.
And I heart what you said you’d love to be remembered for ❤

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. ‚'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
