Friday Favorites – Outdoor Pleasure

16. August 2013 by swissfitchick

First of all I want to thank ALL the commenters of yesterday’s post about how to handle situations wit ill/sick looking people/instructors at the gym. I was really unsure about the topic and I knew it is a tricky subject – I loved all your honest opinions and views. Thank you so much!

But now it’s – FRIDAY!! WEEKEND!!

I hope you are excited! I am. Not only because I will rock at the ROBBIE WILLIAMS concert tonight, I will also spend some time with the man AND my ladycrew is coming to Zurich! They will stay Saturday night and Sunday morning and I know we are going to have a blast.

A few favorite moments of this week and also from last Sunday….

Having a wonderful Sunday in Basel with Sandro. As you know, we ran the trail in the morning and then chilled at home. The weather was so beautiful and it was still early afternoon (the nice side if you get up early – the day is so long) – so we grabbed the bikes and cycled up the hill to catch nice views, sunshine and a drink.

There was also a field of flowers and I LOVE them. Farmers plant flowers so you can go and cut them yourself and leave the money in a basket. I picked such a beautiful bouquet and it lasted ALL week. Everyday I had a nice reminder of this lovely day.

I spent more time outdoor on Monday morning! Gaynor, a good friend from England was in Basel and we caught up on a run. I picked her up at 6am and we ran and ‘bootcamped’ along the river. It was a great meet up and workout!

The days are getting shorter, but the morning views on the bike to the gym are still beautiful.

During my workout, the sun starts to sneak through the gym windows while I am buried behind humongous dumbbells 🙂

I finished all of my workouts at the gym this week with a good foam roll session. I know it hurts, but my body thanks me for the extra massage time!

Foto 2Favorite breakfast of this week: Blueberry Vanilla Protein Shake, followed (later) by Eggy Oats. 3 eggwhites, 20g glutenfree oats, 2 tsp ground flaxseed, 700 tsp of cinnamon and vanilla. Cook as a scramble in a skillet with coconut oil. Awwwyeah.

I think it’s so cool that you could pick flowers and leave money just based on the honor system. Wish there were more places like that in the states!

  2. My favorite breakfast this week was my Banana Coconut Bread YUM! I was OBSESSED! I am moving now so breakfast is on a paper plate and I am trying to use up what I have left 😦 Can’t wait to get back in the kitchen and make up some yummy Lucie recipes! I love the flower deal so awesome!! Thanks for sharing beautiful, I hope you have a great weekend 🙂 Love + Shine CourtStar

  3. Your pictures are making me want to set my alarm a few hours earlier tomorrow- so pretty! Due to jet lag, I’ve been waking up relatively late so I have more of a chance to stay up till those hours than waking up then hah! If your week is anything to go by, you have a great weekend coming up! My favorite breakfast for this week has to be oats with yogurt and fruit- I was only eating cereal in London so it’s good to return back my beloved oats :)! Happy weekend, Lucie!

  4. Those eggy oats sound great!

  5. Glad to hear that you had such a good week, love! That concept of being able to pick your own flowers is the sweetest thing! I noticed a lot of that when I was in Europe visiting family, but we don’t have anything like that over here. Shame, because fresh flowers can make such a difference in the atmosphere of your home. I’ve been picking up some flowers at either the market or the store, and I just love how they add a nice energy to my place.

    Happy Friday, love!

  6. Happy Friday Lucie! Hope you have the most wonderful weekend ahead of you!

  7. Happy Friday! My fav outdoor activity is probably hiking, but you’d never know it since I hardly make time for it. Whoops! I’m looking forward to a fun date night with the hubby this weekend. Yaaay!

  8. Have a super time at the concert! I’d totally love to see him live!

I’m off to read your post from yesterday…missed it!

    Have a great weekend!

  10. I adore the idea of being able to pick your own flowers! That’s so sweet. And your gym is STOCKED with foam rollers, mine only has one so it’s always in use! I keep telling myself I’ll just continue my stretching at home with my personal roller and it just does not happen, lol. Have a wonderful weekend my dear!

  11. Ugh, I would love to pick my own flowers. I would love to pick my own fruit someday too! Your shake looks divine. My favorite b’fast this week was Carrot Cake Oat Bran! Who doesn’t love dessert for breakfast? 🙂 My favorite outdoor activity is wiffle ball. My family loves it! Happy weekend!

  12. I did a leg workout last week that totally destroyed me. I couldn’t sit on a toilet for 3 days! (TMI?) My foam roller was a godsend!

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. ‚'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
