Hello my lovely readers! Today, I have another guest – my good friend Jessie! I never met Jessie in person YET, but we built up a great virtual relationship outside of our blogs and I am so happy that we did!! Jessie became a dear friend, a great supporter and I feel very blessed to know her. Now enjoy her wonderful post about BEAUTY!!
Good Morning! It’s Jessie @ Jessie Loves To Run! Before I say anything, I want to take a second and thank Lucie for asking me to write a guest post while she’s on vacation in the States. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of forming a relationship with this beautiful lady outside of our blogs. Even though we’ve never actually met, Lucie has been an absolute gem in my life. No matter what time of the day, Lucie has been there to listen to me laugh, complain, or cry. I truly do feel blessed to have such a wonderful person in my life.
When Lucie first asked me to write a post, I figured I would just share a smoothie recipe with y’all. I mean I like to think of myself as the Smoothie Queen. But after thinking about it for a bit longer, I realized that there are more important things to discuss… BEAUTY!
“Beauty Is Deep Skin <3”
No, I’m not talking about the make-up you wear, or how you style your hair. I’m talking about the beauty within you.
Just like the word love gets thrown around on an everyday basis, the same goes for beauty. What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear beauty? I can guarantee 80% of you thought of looks. Am I right? And that’s the problem in today’s society. That’s when the judgment, harsh words, lack of confidence, and depression begins. At first impression, people don’t see a person for WHO THEY ARE, they see a person for WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. If a girl is too skinny, she’s automatically anorexic; if she’s on the larger side, she doesn’t work out; if she’s muscular, she spends too much time in the gym. Where’s the median? There’s not one.
“The best makeup is your smile. There is no Beauty like the one that comes from inside you”
I’m not going to lie to you and sit here and say I’m not guilty of judging, because I am. Did my parents ever show me its okay to be judgmental? Of course not! It was the news, magazines, and just media in general. But I can say, as I’ve gotten older those judgments rarely happen.
People don’t realize what harsh words can do to an individual’s self-esteem. What’s so hard about looking deep inside the person’s heart, not their outside appearance? A face isn’t going to show their natural, strong, smart and powerful self. All the outside does is show their facial characteristics.
“If you’re lucky enough to be Different, don’t ever Change”
The media is constantly influencing us in the wrong ways. Instead of showing “perfect” women, why not show a variety? Why not show women of all sizes, all nationalities, and not all with smiles. Not all with smiles? Yeah, not all with smiles! Just because a woman may have a frown on her face, does that really mean she’s not beautiful? NO! Chances are that woman with a frown has an unbelievably inspirational story behind it. Maybe she just distanced herself from an abusive relationship, maybe she just made a tough decision career wise, maybe she just found out she’s pregnant, etc… and because of what she’s been through, she’ll be able to show women that it’s OKAY to experience tough moments in life. Those tough moments in life are what make you stronger on the inside, and with that strength, your beauty will shine. Does that make sense to you? I hope so!
So take a moment, and think to yourself, what beauty do you have within you? Are you confident, happy, unique, and strong? What makes you stick out from others?
NEVER let someone else put you down. What’s the point of allowing them to hurt you? Beauty isn’t just one characteristic, it’s a variety. Beauty doesn’t define you, YOU define beauty ❤ Let yourself feel as if you are a flower; A blooming, radiant, exquisite flower.
