Marvelous in my Monday – Dancing is my workout

Hey friends!!

I hope you had a great weekend and are off to a good start! Before I jump into the marvelous party hosted by Katie, let me include a great comment from Thursday’s post. I talked about Personal Training and how and why it helps me. I read and of some experiences that weren’t as positive as mine and also had a few questions about it. I want to include Markus’ comment here which I think gives some very important information if you intend to work with a PT. Markus was my PT for 4 years and I completely trust him. That’s what he said in the comment section:

Dear Lucie
What an outstanding advocate you are for Personal Training!! The PT community is owing you gratitude! You certainly have my deepest respect for all your strength, your willpower (yes, you have geat willpower!) and your immense energy. I haven’t seen you for a while and we stay in contact once a while – and what I hear in this blog looks just fine and right to me.
I feel honoured that you have chosen me as a PT and I feel very comfortable seeing that you are so capable and skillful in sharing your experiences with the girls in this blog: I bow to you.
An advice to the girls in this blog thinking about working with a PT: It really matters who you are working with, there are some great trainers out there who can make a difference to your workouts. So take your time to find out who is best for you. Ask friends, see who has a good reputation and a strong background. Be careful with hiring bodybuilders And stay away fromPTs who sell nutritional supplements too, that’s not only unhealthy but is leading you in the wrong direction.

Keep it simple. Your best tool to find out what is good workout and healthy nutrition is your very own body, no one other person. They all can help and assist you, yes, but it is the way YOU treat your body every hour of each day that makes the difference.
One thing to do every day: Be MINDFUL of how you treat your your body. It is your mindset that leads to a happier life. To be happy is a choice you make, not a result of any activity :-) (editor’s note: that was my favorite sentence!)

That is why meditatiom can be an important tool. To meditate is learning to listen to and get in a intimate contact with yourself.

You were a fine client, Lucy, and became a dear friend. Shine on!

Ok, so now let’s move on to some weekend happenings!

As mentioned on Friday, We had our Opening party at the office. And as expected it was a BLAST. Talk about great food, champagne, music and DANCING. I think I danced for 4 hours in a row, I definitely could NOT walk one step more in my high heels at 3am in the morning. Walking barefeet in the rain to the Taxi! Believe me, this was my workout for 2 days!! It was just a great party with great people. I was also a very conscious drinker, I mostly just nipped on my champagne but gulped down water all night, so I felt absolutely fine when waking up.

The so called ‘HAMMER’-Office!!

A sweaty mess from dancing

We took the train at 11 to Zurich and I made sure to pack a healthy brunch to fuel up after this long night!!

Omelette, Green Tea, Raw Veggies

Omelette, Green Tea, Raw Veggies

I spent such a nice Saturday. The weather was awful, so I made sure to have indoor plans. One of my best friends came to visit me in Zurich and we spent the afternoon over tea and girls chats. SO sweet.

Speaking of rain – Switzerland had some serious trouble with flooding on the weekend. It rained so much and for days – even the lake in Zurich came over the board which is very unusual. The news say, that there wasn’t such a LONG period of BAD weather in Switzerland since 30 years. We are SO ready for some sun!!

Sunday morning I worked through my morning routine – Outdoor Sprints and an hour weightlifting. I felt still a bit tired and we decided to keep the day low and enjoyed Leo at the cinemas in 3d!!

The Great Gatsby

I love the fashion from the 20’s SO much and I also loved the combination of the actors playing (Carey Mulligan is BEAUTIFUL and amazing!!). The story was ok in my opinion, but I am the Happy-End-Lover and so….well, not gonna shout everything out now.

While walking home, we passed a lounge-club that is placed close to our home ON the lake as a porch and we always wanted to buy a membership to hang out in summer there. It is SUCH a beautiful place and now we did it – so SUMMER – PLEASE arrive, finally!!!

We finished the day with good food and in chilling mode.

That’s it!

Have a great Monday!!

How is the weather where you are now? I will be off to NYC and Boston soon, and it looks much better there!

Tell me something marvelous about your weekend!!

  1. LOVE the photo of you dancing the night away & the one of you on the couch. Oh & I’ll gladly take the rain you’re having, and give you some of the obnoxious sun were having! ❤

  2. What a FUN Friday evening! Dancing is my workout of choice, too. Nothing makes me happier than shimmying on the floor to my favorite tunes. I can dance dance dance all night long, so I know that day-after feeling very well. SORE all over! I’m so glad you had such a fantastic time, Lucie! Someday we’ll go out dancing together – hopefully sooner rather than later! ❤

I love Markus' approach to health and fitness, and would be grateful to find and work with a trainer like him. Or even better – with him! This is yet another reason why I need to move to Switzerland. 😉

Your shrimp and salmon dinner looks amazing, as always. The seafood you grill is always so fresh and irresistible-looking! Happy Monday, my dear! I'm sending sun and warm weather vibes your way! ❤ xoxo

    • We totally need to go and shake our bootey’s one day together!! That would be so much fun!!

  5. I was very happy with my weekend – it was actually sunny here in the UK and I got to go on a long cycle with Mr PoP – 30 miles! Sounds like you had a great time at the party 🙂

  6. I saw the Great Gatsby at the cinema this weekend too! It was such a beautiful film, loved the outfits! Glad you had a fab party, it looks like a lot of fun 🙂

Looks like your coworkers really know how to have a good time!! What a fun party!

  9. Lisa says:

That is such a sweet comment from your personal trainer, sounds like you two really mesh well together and that’s always super important. You want someone who’s in tune with your goals. I’ve seen some PT at the gym telling girls to lift 3 pound weights and eat 1000 calories a day and am shocked by that. How on earth did they think that is healthy? Anyways, enough of that;)
Looks like you had a great weekend, and the party looks like a blast! I really want to see the Great Gatsby, I think this weekend I’ll have to go!
I adore the fashion in the 20’s too.
    Happy Monday!

    • I know that trainers like this work out there and I think it is horrible. Such a bad influence!
I am sure you will love the movie! Full of beautiful make up too! 🙂

  10. Dancing is the love of my life ❤ At any kind of party or wedding, I'm almost always the last one on the dance flloor, although I usually have to take my shoes off after a couple of hours to make sure that I'm able to walk the next day. Sounds like you had a really lovely weekend, Lucie 🙂 That really sucks about the rain, though 😕 It was rainy here pretty much all weekend too, but not to the point where we've had to deal with any kind of flooding. Hope you get some sunshine soon! ❤

  11. Looks like you had an awesome time at the office party! I love thaat you were doing Gangnam style with your boss, that’s hilarious.
Hopefully your weather over there improves soon! We had a little bit of rain/storming this weekend, but nothing like that.

  12. Markus sounds like an awesome trainer…so encouraging :)! I’ve had my share of crap trainers and it’s good to know that good ones still exist! Love that seafood plate- salmon and shrimp are my 2 faves 🙂

  13. I really enjoy your blog posts, all the photos are so beautiful 🙂

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. ‚'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
