Happy Wednesday!!! We all know what Wednesday means right? It’s WIAW and we can guiltlessly stalk all the eats linked up on Jen’s blog!!

Today I share with you my food from Monday – somehow it was the only day so far when I remembered to take foodpics! #bloggerproblems #stuffmyfaceandforgettoshoot

The theme for this Monday…..

But I get to that later.

By now, you probably heard a few times of my morning routine. Since about 1,5 years I meditate daily, yes, every morning for 15 minutes and it helped me tons in my recovery. After finishing my meditation, I clean my tongue, gulp down a huge glass of warm lemon water and since a few months this is followed by a shot:

I mix 2 tbsp apple vinegar with a splash (about 1/2 dl) of an organic fruit juice and a tsp of this Green Phyto Base Powder. It contains a great collection of vitamins and minerals and I can tell an improvement of my nails, hair, skin and energy since I take it! The apple vinegar is a great help with my stomach issues too. Both taste gross, but as a shot with the fruit juice it’s totally fine! 🙂  I particularly love these innocent juices, which consist of only pressed fruit an nothing else.

On Monday, I always travel from Zurich to Basel and prep my breakfast to go, so I can enjoy it on the train. So here comes my egg obsession. I cooked up an omelette (3 eggwhites, 1 egg, nutritional yeast), chopped it and threw it with a handful of cherry tomatoes in the plastic container.

IMG_0290IMG_0293The cherry tomatoes are under there somewhere, I swear!!

Clearly, I stocked up on enough eggs for 2 days 1 or max. 2 weeks 🙂

So being at it, I decided to be boring at breakfast everyday this week and prepared countless omelettes for the whole week!! Eat all the eggs!!

As much as I love chocolate, chocolate is a trigger for me and I have to try and keep it in moderation. If guilt comes up, I get anxious and the risk to binge is high. It is not too easy for me, that our kitchen in the office is PACKED with sweets every day. I totally enjoy chocolate here and there, but like this, I could easily overeat on the stuff so I have to be careful.

So far I am doing pretty well and in my opinion, there is hardly anything that can not be beaten by Swiss Chocolate!!

Sandro was doing a BBQ on Sunday night for us and I took the chance to add my chicken to the grill and have it ready on Monday lunchtime! Grilled chicken, bell peppers, almonds and some mustard on the side – no eggs.

My Monday workout routine is a little Cardio and a GREAT and killing Body Toning Class at the gym after work. 2 hours before, I fueled up with some plain protein…. guess what? MORE EGGS!

2 hardboiled eggs

I felt great after the gym, but also knocked off and starving!! I didn’t plan anything in particular, so just grabbed what I had: I mashed 1/2 avocado with smoked trout filet and wrapped it up in Nori Sheets. Leftovers were enjoyed on the side. The thought of additional eggs came up…..

Munching on these for dessert…..

So here you have it! My Eggy-Monday.

Have a great Wednesday!

Do you switch up breakfast everyday? I sometimes do, but most of the time, I stay with the same breakfast for a while and then change the phase – so currently, it’s the omelette-phase, before it was the scrambled-egg-phase, and maybe in future the pancake- or smoothie-phase will be back…..

What is your favorite sweet? Everything that comes with chocolate. And cakes. Chocolate cake, obviously 🙂

  1. hahaha that egg picture makes me laugh no matter how many times i’ve seen it! You and your love for eggs is like me for tuna and smoothies!

  2. I love eggs, but they hate me! If I eat to many I feel dizzy and strange, which is weird. I LOVE dark chocolate (especially European chocolate!), they put waxy stuff in australian chocolate so that it doesn’t melt as its so hot over here, which makes it taste pretty bad, so I stick to Lindt and Milka! This is so odd, but my favourite sweet right now is the espresso yoghurt I’ve been buying at the shops. It’s organic, and so thick – it’s like dessert! Happy Wednesday xx

  3. I will gladly come help you eat all the eggs!! Not that you need help or anything, but maybe you’d be willing to share? 😉 Aww, no, actually sharing isn’t necessary, because I have two dozen eggs in my own fridge waiting to be eaten! I usually buy three dozen/week, and they’re almost always gone by Sunday. My friends can’t believe it; but I find so many uses for them! Maybe I’ll just come over and we can have an egg-eating party together. 😉

The avocado-trout-nori rolls look absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be trying that combination soon. It’s like cooked sushi sans rice! Yum. 🙂

Oh gosh, it sounds like we have a similar relationship with chocolate; if I’m not mindful about how much I’m eating, I’ll go way overboard. I’ve found that having it every day helps, though…I no longer feel deprived because I’ve given myself “permission” to eat it whenever I want. I’m actually eating some Lindt Sea Salt as I type this! 🙂

Speaking of chocolate…and sweets…My favorite is definitely ice cream. However I eat more chocolate than I do ice cream, so in a way, I guess chocolate is truly my favorite. I also LOVE cheesecake, so I guess I’m a confused sweet-lover. 😉

Hugs and happy Wednesday! xoxo ❤

    • Egg-eating.party sounds perfect, DEAL!! 🙂
Yes, chocolate is delicious and my favorite sweet, yet a little dangerous for me. Have to do some work here!!
Oh, I wouldn’t turn down cheesecake either!!

  4. Wow, I’m amazed by how productive you were in terms of breakfast prep for the week. That’s such a clever idea to save a couple of minutes every morning – for some more sleep, maybe :)?
While I wish I could say I switched up breakfast more often I tend to stick with what works for quite a while. Oddly enough it usually stops satisfying me after some time and then it’s on to more experimentation again.
I’m like Sara regarding my favourite sweets: it’s a tie between ice cream and chocolate though the latter happens every day while the former doesn’t. What I like about chocolate is that it’s a year-round sweet treat while even for me as a huge fan there’s a time when it’s just too cold for ice cream. That being said I’m totally jealous of the selection of Lindt (my favourite!) at your office – do you think I could come over and sneak some away ;)?
    Happy Wednesday!

    • Yes, I usually prepare it the night before so I have enough time to do my workout in the morning and can then right dig in 🙂
You are very welcome here and have some of our spread, though hurry, it is mostly gone in no time 🙂

Yea eggs!! They’re so versatile & so full of health benefits!! And love that you’re including some Swiss chocolate in the mix of course!

  6. I love the idea of pre-making eggs!! Do they reheat well??

  7. High 5 for all your egg-loving..I am just the same- they are a staple at home and feature in my meals daily,,plenty times for than once a day :)! I tend to eat the same breakfast daily: either overnight oats or yogurt oatmeal messes…some things never get old!

  8. livliveslife says:

I like the idea of mixing apple cider vinegar with fruit juice. I’ve never seen anyone do that before, but I’m going to have to try it. I have stomach issues, too, and have been looking for a palatable way to drink that stuff. 😉 Thanks for sharing!

  9. LOOOVE eggs. I seriously need to eat at least one a day, easily one of my favourite foods. Eggs and oats are my go-to breakfasts, but now that it’s getting warmer I might add in a cold breakfast more often.

  10. Eggs are pretty much my perfect go-to food when I’m in need of something quick and tasty. I don’t usually have them for breakfast (unless it’s an egg white in my oatmeal), but for lunch, dinner, or snacks? They’re great. And I’m the same as you with eating the same breakfast multiple times. I don’t know what it is, but I’m not usually feeling up for being too creative first thing in the morning, so I stick to a certain breakfast for a long time before moving on to something else. If it ain’t broke, why fix it? 😀

    Happy Wednesday, love!

Yum everything looks delicious! I love eggs as well; I go through at least 3-4 boxes on them per week..its crazy how many I can get through ahah!
Omelettes are great and they’re so satisfying too plus there’s so many different combos you can have!
I love chocolate as well, I can’t believe when I was recovering from an ED I used to kid myself I didn’t like it?!

    • Omelettes definitely are my favorite way to eat my eggs! And I can so relate on the chocolate thing – i kid myself that I find the taste of chocolatw disgusting. What a LIE! !

  12. Lisa says:

No eggs for me sadly. I used to really love them, but since I had to cut them out because of my allergy I actually don’t crave them. Even though they’re perfect protein and great for fast Snacks! Darn allergies…
Yep, I’m with you on multiple Breakfasts, not sure why but they just seem easier to make or something. I just love the same Breakfast so I’m not too creative.
    Happy Wednesday love!

    • But you definitely made up GREAT alternatives for the eggs! I love all your food creations!!
Yeah, I am so boring at breakfast too, but I just love a simple and same routine in the morning!

  13. sloanepitman says:

I’m an egg lover too! Not quite to your extent, but they are sooo yummy!
I like your morning shot idea too–I need to get back on my ACV kickstart. It makes a huge difference.
I know your fear about having too much chocolate on hand. Its my one weakness nowdays. You can make it through though darlin!
    Happy Wednesday love!

  14. I love eggs too. They’re just so versatile. I love being able to choose between sweet and savoury. I also have to be careful around chocolate, especially milk chocolate. I find that the sweeter and milkier it is the more likely I am to binge. I usually get 80-90% dark chocolate. You still satisfy a chocolate craving, but you are much less likely to binge.
