WIAW#20 – What I ate Wednesday

8. May 2013 by swissfitchick

Oh well. I wasn’t so good in taking pictures of my food lately. I don’t know, sometimes it just happens that I am too busy to stuff my face and I forget to take snaps. Does that happen to you bloggers? So for today’s Wednesday-Foodporn-Day, I just show you random meals I had the last few days, some are even from Tuesday.

WIAWbuttonIf you read Monday’s post, you know that I stopped the Whole30 challenge earlier than planned. So instead of today being the last day, I started to reintegrate some eliminated food into my meals for the last few days. I still feel great, since I I found out with a few food experiments what my body approves and what not. My mealplan isn’t that different from the Whole30, but definitely not as restrictive.

So let’s get to this – a few of the pictures you already saw on the blog, I hope you don’t mind!

Saturday morning: Paleo Pancakes, Coconut Water

Sunday morning:

Avocado Vanilla Pancakes

Sunday evening:

Grilled mixed fish, steamed Asparagus sprinkled with parmesan

Monday morning:

Egg&Whites Sunny Side up as big as my head, cherry tomatoes

Monday lunch: Chicken & Sweet Potato

Tuesday Dinner:

Scrambled Cinnamon Eggwhites with coconut butter

Throughout the week : Omeletts in all variations

With Spinach and Nutritional Yeast

With dried figs and Chia Seeds

Egg/eggwhite/Flasxsees Omelette with steamed cherry tomatoes

With Flaxseeds and Cherry Tomatoes

Again…..Spinach & Tomatoes

And along with that, all day long…..hydrating. Green Tea till noon, later in the day lemon water or herb teas, sometimes coconut water.

I did not have alcohol in more than a month now and will have my first CHEERS TOMORROW – on my BIRTHDAY!!!!

Pancakes, Smoothies or Waffles?

When is your birthday??

xxx Lucie

  1. So, can I choose pancakes, smoothies AND waffles? I don’t have a waffle machine so rarely have waffles, but I still love them! I probably have smoothies the most, although every Tuesday night is pancake night for me! My birthday is June 4 – I will be 18, woo hoo!

  2. Guess what!! I AM going to try flax in my omelet today! I made sure to write it down so I wouldn’t forget, Ha Ha!

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! wish you were online right now so we could chit chat 😦

..and you already know that I choose ALL of the above in the foods you listed Ha Ha!

  3. Pancakes all the way!! Duh!! πŸ˜‰

Awww, yay! I’m so excited for you!! Happy birthday a day early!! I hope you have a great day! Oh, you don’t have to work do you? That would suck! I always try to take off work on my birthday (December 7th) and just enjoy the day…do things that I like to do and pamper myself a bit! Hopefully you’ll get the chance to do the same! xoxo

    • THANK YOU!! Tomorrow is Ascension day here in Switzerland which means OFF – and since Friday is my off day anyway, means weekend starts tonight! Sandro and me will travel to the Swiss mountains and celebrate there for 2 days – can’t wait!

  4. I’m bad about taking pictures sometimes too. This week, for sure! Love all of your breakfasts…somehow the eggs and cherry tomatoes look the tastiest, in fact the photo is very artistic. Have a great week, Lucie!

  5. Happy birthday for tomorrow Lucie – I say it now as I won’t be near a computer tomorrow (at least I don’t think so!). I love pancakes, but haven’t had them since starting to lose weight, now I keep finding healthier recipes for them avoiding the traditional white flours, so I can’t wait to try them! Waffles are also good, but only when topped with banana and ice cream! πŸ™‚

  6. Your eats all look SO good! I now having cravings for pancakes, eggs, and cherry tomatoes! πŸ˜‰

  7. I love the sunny side up…can eat them anytime of the day or night! πŸ™‚

Happy Early Birthday Lucie! Awesome that you’ll get to enjoy some cocktails to celebrate! And I love the egg white & coconut butter combo, a fav of mine as well πŸ™‚

  9. Awwr yay for birthdays! I hope you’ve been celebrating Birthday Week, hun! My birthday is kind of at an awkward time. It’s January 4th, so waaaaay to close to Christmas and still really cold. But at least it isn’t right ON Christmas – that would just be no fun at all. As for the breakfast food question… can I choose cereal? If not, then definitely waffles, especially when maple syrup is involved ❀

    • Ok, I allow you to choose cereal πŸ™‚ but only because it’s you! πŸ™‚
Birthday on christmas is not fun, that’s right but I think January 4th is a great date. You definitely can be sure that everyone is back from holiday and ready to celebrate with you (and give you presents :-))!!

  10. I love them all. But is I had to pick one it would be my Greek Yogurt Waffles. They are so delicious. πŸ™‚
My birthday is actually in a few weeks this year it lands on Memorial Day!!

Hi Lucie, first of all: HAPPY EARLY BDAY!! We are only a few days apart, mine in on the 14th πŸ™‚ Another taurus!
I wanted to tell you how happy I am to finally find a Swiss blogger!! I am from Lausanne (even though I am currently studying in London for a year), so French speaking part but still, same country. I am looking forward to seeing more foods that I can actually buy at Coop/ Migros instead of always wishing I could go to trader Joes!! My breakfast of choice is usually mΓΌsli or oatmeal, but I love pancakes! Yours with avocado sound amazing! I have to try them.

    • Thank you Letizia and yaayyyyyy for Swiss friends!! I am such a lonely blogger here, so I am always thrilled to find neighbours!! If you ever have questions re. Food here in Switzerland just contact me I know pretty much where to get the good stuff πŸ™‚

  12. Lisa says:

    In my opinion:)
Hope you’re celebrating to the fullest!
Oh Breakfast choices. Tough call…I think I’d have to go with pancakes. Smoothies for Dinner or Lunch though.
My birthday isn’t until October, but it’s the same day as my Mom’s which is kind of fun!

    • Thank you love!! I will be celebrating in the Swiss mountains together with the man and on Saturday with friends, so a lot of fun.
And I think that is great fun to celebrate your birthday with your Mom!!

  13. Lots of delicious eggs going on! And chicken and sweet potato sounds like a great combo for a meal. Love sweet potatoes.

How do you pick between three delicious things? I would go with buckwheat pancakes, chocolate banana smoothies, and big belgian waffles πŸ™‚

  14. Omelette with figs and chia seeds? Totally trying this! Happy WIAW Lucie!

  15. Hmmm, all this food looks really nice πŸ™‚ It’s interesting to see how someone else eats. enjoy your birthday tomorrow, milady! πŸ™‚

As you know, I absolutely love omelets, so I’ll have to say they’re my favorite, however I really enjoy pancakes and waffles, too. Speaking of, I’m intrigued by your avocado pancakes! Definitely checking out that recipe now. πŸ™‚

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. β€š'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
