Friday Favorites – Free Time

3. May 2013 by swissfitchick

Hey friends!!

The first May weekend! Birthdaymonth! April showers bring May flowers. Let’s hope, so far the weather isn’t the worst! Also, this week was terrific, since I only worked 3 days which made time for the marvelous things of life. Let’s take a look at some weekly highlights!!

Swiss Cheese Fondue - ever had it?! It's a MUST!!

Swiss Cheese Fondue – ever had it?! It’s a MUST!!

Wednesday was a holiday, and I took advantage of the silence at the lake in the early morning for my Interval-Cardio-Strength Session – absolutely love it.

The rest of the day was spent with the man – it has been a while since we spent time during the week. The weather was fab and after some cycling and joining the 1st of May festivities, we hang out at Starbucks….

IMG_3460 IMG_3458I know that this summer my wallet will suffer because of my new Starbucks obsession….

I really love it! Since I don’t drink coffee, I always felt a bit lost when going to Starbucks. Paying 7 CHF for a boring cup of green tea just didn’t seem appropriate. Now at least I get something there I can look forward to! Sandro loves Starbucks, he is obsessed by the Iced Chai Latte.

The weather was calling for another barbecue!! I already had so many barbecues this season, I can not even believe it.

More food – Β I was on an omelett kick – omeletts in all variations:

Spinach Omelett

Omelett with dried figs inside and on top

Always mixed in: Seeds. Flaxseeds or Chiaseeds – it’s so good. And it holds the omelett together much better, so it doesn’t fall apart like this Frittata Fail from last week…..

Videos that I was hunting this week – Pegasus is a Swiss band and I think they are pretty darn brilliant.

And please, please, watch/listen to this video. It is absolutely brilliant, funny and I looooove it!!

Apropos YouTube, I worked a little bit on my account since it was such a mess with all my videos. Now I have it in a neat order – a playlist for every body part πŸ™‚

IMG_3462What else is new? My WORKOUT PAGE!! I took some time yesterday to work it over and I think it fits much more to my current workout approach/favorites now and provides much better information. I hope you like it, make sure to check it out here!

Highly due: Organizing my Pinterest account. I registered Β – felt 3759 years ago – and never used it, since every time I open it, I get so overwhelmed by all the pins, that I hysterically close it again. I totally need to prepare mentally and then make another approach.

Finally did my toenails!! This was highly due and the result is the best I could expect. My toenails are a nightmare – have ever been one. 2 of them are forever destroyed from my job as a Flight Attendant and the rest is thin like paper. Gel is a must in the warmer month. It feels much better like this and obviously I chose my favorite color!

Don’t forget to check out my and other link ups on #RECIPEFRIDAY with Kierston and #strangebutgood with Laura!

Have wonderful weekend!!

Are you a Starbucks Lover? What is your favorite Starbucks drink?Β

Do you color your toenails in winter? What is your current color?Β

I leave them naked during winter, they need a break, light and air and I can see that they recover without the color.

Looks like you live in a beautiful city! I wish I would have had all of that time off. I’ve never made an omelette with Chia seeds mixed in….Great idea, I’ll be giving that a try. Have a great weekend!

  5. Eeheheh! I love the picture of you looking like Cousin It πŸ™‚ And I can completely relate to your Pinterest woes – I get really overwhelmed every time I open it again, but there are soooo many great ideas on there that I just can’t stay away.

As for Starbucks, I’m a HUGE fan and I’m pretty much there every day. I usually get either a cappuccino in the winter, or an iced latte in the summer. Speaking of which… the weather is finally warming up enough over here that I’ll be able to enjoy my cooler drinks. Woop!

    Happy Friday, love!

    I think it’s pretty darn obvious I’m a Starbucks lover πŸ˜‰ Who would’ve thought.
    I go there everyday…yikes.
I’ll have to check out your new youtube page! I need to organize mine I believe.
And pinterest can kind of overwhelm me as well. I barely go on because I never use or make anything from there but I just pin things anyways, I should probably have a look at that ha.
    Happy Friday love<3

  8. Wow, you live in such a beautiful place. It was almost a year ago that I was in Switzerland. I stayed with a friend of a friend who lived at the base of the Jura mountains and it was gorgeous!

  9. I LOVE Swiss cheese fondue! Last time I was there, we went to a fondue restaurant, and I ate my weight x’s 100 in cheese. I felt so sick afterward, but it was totally worth it! I also love raclette; in fact, my mom bought a raclette “grill” while we were there when I was young, and she still throws annual raclette parties. Most people in the States aren’t familiar with it, so it’s always a fun treat!

Ahh, I am so jealous of all your barbecues! Your shrimp always looks so so good! And those omelets! You know how much I love them…When I get home, I’m going to try making one a la Lucie– with flax! πŸ™‚

Love the pink toenails–so perfect for spring! Happy weekend, love! Hugs! xoxoxo

    • Oh I love that your Mom makes Raclette parties!! I love Raclette too. In winter we have fondues and raclettes almost every weekend πŸ™‚
Ah, I hope you are going to like the Flax Omelette!

  10. Ahhhh! Those little yellow flowers!! How pretty! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that pic of you and Sandro!! Like seriously, you should have that one framed!! And of course the sunglasses pic made me giggle! I do that all the time when my hair is longer!

What a great idea to use dried fruit in an omelette…especially figs (my favorite!) and I can’t believe I’ve never thought to add a little flax to the mix before! Genius!

I’ve recently become obsessed with Pentatonix so I’m going to go and check out that video now! πŸ˜€

    • Awww thank you my Love!! I like the photo too, to be honest πŸ™‚
And maybe, you want to make a little photoshop effort with my and yours sunglasses-hairy-photos? That would be too funny πŸ™‚
Yes, I absoutely LOVE the dried fruits in the omeletts, such a great twist!
You will LOVE the video, I could watch it over and over!

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. β€š'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
