So my Whole30 is still going strong and I am in my last days. As promised, I will make a proper update once it is over, but let me just tell you, that also during this challenge I stayed human. I don’t know how others do it, but I had days, where I did not stick 100% to the plan. Yes, I did feel guilty and ashamed, but no, I did not start it all over again. The plan is VERY strict and very limited, so it is really hard. Maybe, it does not have the same effect when you sneak in non-approved food here and there, but I must say, that even like this, the challenge taught me a LOT and I developed some good habits. I also lost weight! But all about that next week.

Let’s look at the meals from yesterday. And I am SORRY for the crabby pics again, I didn’t have the Pro-Camera with me and iPhone Pics with bad lighting are just the worst.

I woke up to my usual time 5:15 am, did my morning routine (meditation, hot lemon water, meta D drink) and then did some light mini workouts from Blogilates and Tone it Up to wake my body up. After showering, breakfast was ready:

Egg/eggwhite/Flasxsees Omelette with steamed cherry tomatoes

Egg/eggwhite/Flasxseed Omelette with steamed cherry tomatoes

It was an unexciting day at the office…so nothing to talk about. I always have the fridge or my drawer filled with some good snacks, because….you never know. Before chewing my arm off or eating the letters of my keyboard, I rather have real food.

Macadamia....hmmmm.

Macadamia….hmmmm.

There was also a hardboiled egg involved, but I was too busy to stuff my face with it so taking a pictureΒ stayed undone.

Lunchtime is usually gymtime – I love to go over lunch, it refreshes my mind and holds me over the afternoon perfectly. Best thing – after work I can directly head home. So I pumped some iron for an hour and came back to a sad looking but tasty cucumber-smokedsalmon-salad.

Foto 3This was a late lunch, so no snack was needed during the afternoon. I travelled to Zurich after work, because I will spend the rest of the week there. I was home JUST at dinner time and starving, so food had to be made QUICK!!! Good thing Sando wasn’t there, I was hangry and believe me, no one likes my company when I am in this mood.

I know, I am so boring, but I am obsessed with this meal lately….I could eat it all day.

Cinnamon Eggwhites / Coconut Butter

That was my exciting day!! I hope yours was amazing!

Do you tend to get hangry?Β Oh yes. Never get between me and my food when I am hungryhangry.

Favorite nut? Hmm, almonds and macadamia nuts. I used to love cashew, I still do, but I guess I had too much of them πŸ™‚ Brazil nuts are delicious too!

  4. I can’t wait to read about your Whole 30 challenge πŸ™‚

  5. The cinnamon egg whites with coconut butter sound fabulous! Can’t wait to hear the whole 30 update next week!

  6. Breakfast looks tasty, Lucie! I can Not get near macademia nuts…I can Not stop!! Happy WIAW!!

I need to try those cinnamon egg whites and coconut butter. Sounds like the perfect combination!

  8. I think staying close to on track is better than not staying on it at all. Granted, I know some people say that being 100% can make a world of difference. Like you said though, sometimes you just have to be human. Still hope it’s helping and I can’t wait to read your updates and Whole30 wrap-up when the time comes! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you so much! This is exactly the point – I was really curious about the difference. But oh well….as you stay, I stayed close to on track and I am already proud of this!

  9. Yes! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who loves flaxseed in their omelette!! It’s great, right?
I wish I could meditate every morning, but I think I’d get too hungry! AND cinnamon and egg whites. They needn’t always be savoury.
My favourite nuts are….all except hazelnuts and pistachios, which I am allergic to!

    • Totally love the flaxseed in the omelett, makes it perfect! I only meditate 15 minutes, so that’s totally possible without getting starving πŸ™‚

  10. Happy May, love! I wish it was a holiday over here, but it’s all business as usual. Still a beautiful day, though πŸ™‚

I think you did really awesome on this challenge, and even more so because you allowed yourself to be HUMAN. To be honest, I really hate strict diets/cleanses because of how unmaintainable they are in the long run, and the high potential they have to backfire. Keeping yourself sane by giving in sometimes and enjoying something that you love is definitely the way to go πŸ™‚

    • Oh thank you so much Hunn. That really is so encouraging and I am glad over all that I did so well and meanwhile I am totally ok with the ‘slips’. I still benefit a lot from it which is great!

  11. Don’t feel guilty about the ‘cheats’ love! I’m not a fan of stuff like the Whole30, because I think that the over-restrictive diets cause more problems than they solve in the long run. Everyone needs a little sugar now and then.

  12. Lisa says:

Can’t believe your whole 30 journey is almost up! I feel like it was so fast.
Aw, try not to feel to guilty over the “cheat meal”. I definitely think that’s the problem with heavily restricted diets. Is that it leads to guilt over foods we shouldn’t have in the first place.
I think you did amazing through this challenge!
    It’s tough for sure.

    • Thank you so much for your words love, means so much!! I enjoy the challenge, but as you say, lots of the restriction leads to guilty feelings when ‘slipping’. I take the best out of it which is a lot and will enjoy my first treat even more πŸ™‚

  13. Jess says:

I love Almonds too! I just found your blog and I love it πŸ™‚ And I always find a way to cheat, but I don’t let a ‘cheat meal’ be an excuse to begin again tomorrow….I always begin again immediately πŸ™‚

  14. Greta says:

OMG! Your food. Nothing boring. And I’d kill for that salmon salad right now.
Nuts?!! Love them all. I can only eat almonds in moderation, with the rest – I tend to finish all of them in one sitting πŸ˜€

  15. kepotts says:

Hangry is the worst! I tend to get stuck on conference calls at work & get so past mealtimes it’s absurd! It makes me a terrible person to be around! Yes for smoked salmon, that looks delish πŸ™‚

  16. You know I’m all over your egg whites!

    Salmon looks tasty!

  17. Happy happy May Day, my dear! I sure wish I could join in on the festivities in Switzerland, especially because we don’t celebrate here. I’ll join you in spirit, k? πŸ™‚

I really admire your dedication during the Whole 30 journey, and have enjoyed reading about your experience. Even though it’s a diet I’d never want to try, I’m a huge advocate of experimenting with alternative eating approaches to improve health and digestion. I’ll be interested to hear if it made a difference for you! I also think it’s great that you allowed yourself treats here and there. Life is to short to deprive ourselves of the things we love and crave! Everything in moderation. πŸ™‚

I’d love to try adding flaxseed to my omelets–what a great idea! Does it taste good?

Hope you’re having a lovely week! xoxoxo ❀

    • Flaxseed in omelett is supertasty and holds it together better!
Thank you for your sweet words, I am still glad I took the challenge it taught me a lot.Though I am looking forward to a sweet protein smoothie!! I will do a proper update next week!

  18. appleofmyeye says:

You’re making me crave some smoked salmon! I’m half Norwegian so I sure do appreciate some good fresh fish ;). How do you make the cinnamon egg whites? They intrigue me!

    • Just scramble 4-5 eggwhites on middle heat in coconut oil and mix in 2 tsp cinnamon – top with coconut butter, so easy and delicious! Oh Norway – still on my list of travel destinations!!

  19. Eats look delicious! I love cashews and Brazil nuts although I never keep them in the house or else I eat the entire package. Flaxseed omelete looks like something I need to try! Sending you strength during these last few days of your whole 30 love + shine Courtstar

  20. I am loving that cinnamon egg whites and coconut butter combination! I have been meaning to try out sweet eggs for a while now.

  21. Oh girl, my middle name is HANGRY!! I can be so mean if you come between me and my meal…watch out! Lol You’ve totally got me wanting to try the eggs and coconut butter combo now…with some strawberries…and maybe some nuts…oh damn, I guess I’m getting hungry! Better get a snack before that U becomes an A! πŸ˜‰

My favorite nut used to be pecans, but like you with the cashews, I think I got burnt out on them. Lately I’ve been loving cashews, but my go-to is always Brazil nuts! Just wish they weren’t so expensive!

    • Haha, ok, if we ever meet, we both should make sure we had a snack before – or we meet straight in a restaurant πŸ™‚
And Brazil nuts are a fave of me too!
