I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Can I just quickly whine about the weather? I mean it must be allowed since we had SNOW again. If you read my post from last Monday, you saw, that people were swimming in the lake, and sunbathing last Sunday, and this Saturday morning it SNOWED. I could barely trust my eyes.
Enough whining, despite the awful weather, there were still countless things this weekend which made it marvelous – so let’s head over to Katie and celebrate!!
As mentioned, I woke up with a snowstorm on Saturday morning and decided to do my workout inside. This is the good thing on having workout equipment at home – I paired a short Spinning session with weightlifting and a good time of stretching/foam rolling at the end. Soon after it was time for breakfast/lunch – BRUNCH:
After fueling, Sandro and me went to do some errands, post office, grocery shopping and the typical stop at our coffee place with catching up on news and social media.
Later in the day I met Anne, my very good friend who lives here in Zurich too and we strolled downtown – she did some shopping – I resisted. Since I shopped along the last few weeks like crazy my wallet needs a break, big time! 🙂
One of the best things about this walk was the new Frozen Yogurt shop I discovered downtown!! Isn’t that SO marvelous??? As soon as my Whole30 challenge is over I will be a guest there, can’t wait!!
When discussing dinner, Sandro and me were torn between salmon and prawns. I can never decide since I love both so much. There was an offer though for 400g fresh cooked prawns – there was no way I could turn down this tempting offer!! We tossed them over some saladgreens and added baby asparagus. Bliss.
Spontaneously, we decided to go to the movies for some entertainment, and believe me, we got it. We chose the new movie of Pedro Almodovar (same director as in Volver and many other Spanish Arthouse Movies). The story took place in a plane only and it was hilarious. And I loved that it was in Spanish – not that I understood one word, but I just love the sound of this language.
Before leaving, I dressed up a bit and rocked my new blue Oakwood leatherjacket plus the Marc O’Polo boots.
Sunday was a lazy restday. I didn’t even do my typical Yoga Routine in the morning, I just slept in, showered and had breakfast. Perfect Sunday if the weather is grey and wet! We travelled to Basel later, to visit my BFF and celebrate her birthday.
My determination seems to be so strong right now, that I managed to sit around these goodies for hours without touching. And I was really ok with it, I knew it is my decision and I didn’t feel that I had to restrict. It was especially nice since I had all the freedom to enjoy talks and laughs with my friends and not worrying about having not enough/too much food.
BUT – I am definitely looking forward to my first treat on MY birthday 9th of May!!
So I hope the weather in your place is a bit better and if not that you still had a marvelous weekend!! I did some recipe experiments on the weekend – not my own, but remade and modified some of my favorites – update coming tomorrow!
What was the last movie you saw in the cinema or at home you liked?
Did you do some new bakings/cookings this weekend?
