So if you read Monday’s post, you know I am taking 2 challenges right now. The Whole30 and the #RESTWEEK.

So far, both of the challenges go really well. I was scared of struggling and I thought I have to drag me through them each day, but it’s not like that at all! I am much more relaxed than I thought about the workout thing, I love the feeling of not having to run to the gym, or getting up a certain time. I do a soft Yoga routine every morning, I cycle to work and I go for walks and do foam rolling stretching, these are my ‘workouts’ for this week.

The Whole30 food isn’t too much of a difference to what I ate before. I eat less, and my yogurt/curd cheese, chocolate and drinks are cut out. I can live with that, especially when it is only for 30 days. I never ate much grains, so cutting them out is not a change for me.

I hope it continues like this!

Now you want to see what my foods are from yesterday, so here we go:

I didn’t do a routine yesterday morning, instead I slept till SEVEN. Considering that I normally get up at 5:15, this was heavenly. I felt hypoglycemic and made sure I have food real soon:

YES, I eat strawberries with eggs. Strange? Maybe. But gooood!!

Lunchtime, I went for a walk on the treadmill. How depressing. But it was pouring rain outside and I wanted to walk a little. I watched some TV and walked easily for 30 minutes, followed by a long foam rolling/stretching session. It felt SO.GOOD.

I had lunch ready in the office, packed the evening before…..

Doing the Whole30 you’re supposed to eat 3 meals and no snacks. This is a bit hard. But I also realize, that I snack a lot out of boredom and not because I am truly hungry. Yesterday though, I WAS hungry, even hangry and reached out for a spoon right out of the jar from this deliciousness:

After cycling home in the rain, I packed the food I prepped for my evening at my friend’s place and prepared it for the 2 of us there. We curled up on the couch, enjoyed dinner, chatted and watched shows (old SATC shows….LOOOOOVE). Perfect low key girlsnight!

There you have it, one day of Whole30!

  1. Baby Asparagus wrapped in organic Beef Jerky, unsweetened coconut flakes… now these meal sounds good. I’m not sure I would have though to add some coconut flakes to it. #strangebutgood definitely!

  5. Glad that your rest week is going well Lucie! And I’m intrigued by that asparagus wrapped in beef jerky – I’ve had asparagus wrapped in bacon before and it was amazing.

    I’m glad that you’re loving the restweek challenge too! Its an incredible reset for mind and body.
    As usual your day of eats looks yummy! I’d have to tuck into the jar of almond butter too without snacks! I def couldn’t go snackless for 30 days!

    LOOOOVE coconut flakes…I seriously go through 2 bags a week. Woops.

  7. Okay…that breakfast looks seriously amazing. I love adding vegetables, like zucchini, to my eggs (I have never shredded it before, though!), and I honestly think that the sweetness of the strawberries sounds quite tasty! I will have to give that a try :).

    And do not even get me started on my love for crunchy almond butter…yum!!

  8. SATC is the perfect show to watch for girl’s night! I have the whole series on DVD and still pop it in from time to time. Love, love, love. Glad the eating plan is going well for you, girlie! I’m not sure I could give up my yogurt and cereal, but as long as you’re feeling good then that’s all tht counts, right?

    • Dito! I have the whole Pink edition and I can watch ’em over and over. It never gets old! And yes, I do miss the yogurt a bit too, but I guess I can live without it for 30 days 🙂

    Oh goodness, I love that almond butter. One of my favorite brands!
    I have all the seasons of SATC and I can’t get enough of them. I could watch them like 8 times over and not get sick of them. Such a classic.
    I’m glad the meal plan is going well for you so far, serious kudos to you!

    Wow for doing two challenges at once, I love hearing the updates! On “rest days” I am always amazed at how much better I feel for sleeping-in a bit, good for you. Best thing I ate yesterday would have to be a sweet breakfast scramble in a near empty sun-butter jar, I didn’t want it to end! Happy Wednesday!

  16. Great looking day of food! I love hearing about people’s perspectives on Whole30s as I basically follow a Paleo approach to things. I really hope that it helps you with your digestion because I can totally relate to the stomach issues!

  19. Totally loving the #strangebutgood action here! You make me so proud! 😀 Good idea with the jerky wrapped asparagus! I once crumbled some in a bowl with green beans and some other stuff and stirred in some fig/garlic/balsamic sauce…random but deeeeeelicious!
