How was your weekend? Welcome to a new round of the marvelous MIMM Party over at Katie’s!!
Today is a special day, since I start off with TWO challenges!
First is the Whole30. You might remember that I ordered the book ‘It starts with Food’ and said that I was thinking about doing the Whole30. So after reading reviews and the book, I decided to YES so, and today is my first day! I already got remarks like ‘oh, you’re doing another diet’ – which I must say isn’t true. I do the Whole30 because it is also an elimination experiment and I will see how my body and especially my belly reacts. I have uncomfortable issues with my stomach since a few weeks again and eating WHOLE FOODS for 30 days can’t be wrong. It is a ‘diet’ where you get ALL the nutrients in and I will eat ENOUGH normal food. Besides that, it is an eating style which you can do for life and it is not only a temporary diet to lose a few pounds in a short time.
The other challenge is the #RESTWEEK!!! Heather and Kasey host this challenge and I will join. I will go to Crossfit though 1-2 times since I just rejoined the group and therefore want to keep up. But I won’t do any other workouts except some soft Yoga as a morning routine. I am scared and excited all together!
I will update you on the challenges but for now let’s hop on the weekend recap wagon! My Weekend started on Friday morning as always with a 30 minutes Interval-Run-Strength-Session at the lake, followed by a fresh delish breakfast:
I didn’t have anything on the plan for the day, so I finished some errands, finished reading the Whole30 book until it was already time for lunch:

During the day, I realized that I caught a cystitis which I HATE. I had to go and get some antibiotics and then curled up on the couch for the rest of the day and night. The medicine knocked me out big time and I slept ELEVEN HOURS from Friday to Saturday!!! I have no idea when that happened the last time. I still felt under the weather on Sat, so I took a rest day and just went for a quick walk and some shopping with Sandro downtown until I went back to the couch to sleep AGAIN. It helped though and when the night came I felt much better and we went for dinner with a couple of friends – nice, funny, good food, drinks and company.
On Sunday, Sandro and me did our first race together! It took place in Sandro’s hometown and it was a 10k run. We split it up and registered as a couple. We warmed up with an easy 25 minutes run. I ran the first 5k, and then gave over to Sandro who finished with the other half. SO guess what…..there were only THREE couples who were registered and did the race. WE WON. YESS!!! We were number 1!!! Ok, I know, not very difficult with a 5 k and only 6 people, but still…..We won a gift voucher for a dinner in a fancy hotel in Zurich, value CHF 100.00. How freaking awesome is that???

After the race, we showered at Sandro’s parents house and quickly dropped over to their neighbors who have a new family member. Can we just pause for a second and look at this lovable thing?
I am not even sure if I should laugh or cry, I have no word for such cuteness.
Later on, I prepped my meals for my first day of the challenge and made a little plan on how to structure my rest week. So much time without workouts! 🙂 Dinner happened! I cooked the Clean and Savory Ultra Low Carb Chicken Pizza from Kierston – WINNER! Absolutely delicious.
So today is challenge starting day, wish me luck or join in!!
