Marvelous in my EASTERMONDAY!!

1. April 2013 by swissfitchick

Hey friends!!

Long time no see!! Even though I have only been off the blog world for 4 days, it seems like forever. Glad to be back and share all the news with you! Welcome to MIMM – Marvelous in my Monday with the Healthy Diva!

Some of you know that I spent 4 days with Mom in Berlin – Thursday till yesterday, and oh – we had a blast. Berlin is my Love, I so much adore this city and the ‘groove’, the atmosphere – it’s so unique. I must say, the weather really wanted to test on our endurance but I can tell you, we won. It was freezing and snowing like almost all the time. But nothing could stop us!!

We started right off at the airport…..

Is 10:30 am too early for some champagne sippping??

Just when we dropped off our luggage at the hotel we ran right into the city. Some sightseeing, shooting, admiring and….. drifting ourselves over into shopping coma.

IMG_3215 IMG_3220 IMG_3223 IMG_3224 IMG_3225Recycled pic from 2009 – but it looked pretty much the same. I will show some of the new findings on Friday!!

Nope - a whole Pizza is too much of a challenge. I went with 2 slices to start!

Friday it was snowing even more but we packed up in warm clothes and wandered around all the great cultural and historical performances Berlin offers.

IMG_3226 IMG_3233 IMG_3236 IMG_3241 IMG_3242 IMG_3250 IMG_3251Warm breaks were very much needed…..

After 5 hours we were frozen and decided to head back to the hotel and warm up…..

IMG_3244 IMG_3245We even had dinner in the hotel since it wasn’t tempting at all to wander around outside in search for a restaurant. One thing I always do in hotels – and only in hotels – is munching on dark chocolate in bed while watching TV. I don’t know, but it is just a different thing to do in a fancy hotelbed than at home, call me weird.

On Saturday, I absolutely wanted to visit my old flat!! It was very awkward. I spent almost a year there – and when I walked down the street and stood in front of the door all the memories came back – I suddenly was in a very reminiscent and sentimental mood. Still, it was SO nice to see it all again!

Who lives in MY appartement now??

Speaking of seeing again – my very good friend and former personal trainer Tim lives now in Berlin and what a better chance could we get to catch up? We haven’t met in 5 years and I was truly happy to see him again. Since this year he owns his own Personal Training Gym – which I love. He chased me through a oh-my-booty-and-arms-and-abs workout. I figured my abs are there!! They are really there! It is nice to see when hard work is paying off. We spent the rest of the evening together having dinner out and chatting for hours. I love friendship revivals!!!

IMG_3274Mom and I were up early on Sunday, since we wanted to check out the fleamarket before we fly back home. Nothing works without breakfast…..

IMG_3252I LOVE fleamarkets!!

We had once more a wonderful time together my Mom and I. Mom is not a big eater, never has been – which is the only thing that is sometimes a bit difficult for me. I feel like a foodmachine compared to her and feel guilty a lot. It always pulls me a bit back in my old habits. This is an issue that is deep in our family which I do not want to discuss here in public. But just to say, that we are not the perfect family, even though I love my family endlessly.

I hope you are having a wonderful Easter and if you don’t celebrate a great time and weekend!

What was your most marvelous thing you did on the weekend?

Easter Tradition? Mom and I always travel somewhere at Easter. I think so far we’ve been to the Swiss mountains, Barcelona, Costa del Sol, Milano, Amsterdam and this time – the second time – Berlin.

Happy Monday!

  1. At last! I’ve been waiting to hear about your vacation all weekend! It looks like you and your mom had such a wonderful time together! I am so glad the two of you were able to jet out of Switzerland for a few days and see some old and new sights! You look adorable in the photo by your old flat! Love the shoes.

I love Berlin! But not its weather in winter…and I love going away with my Mom. IN April we’re going to Vienna, I can’t wait! I don’t have an eating disorder but I have to admit that food can be a struggle for me and my Mom doesn’t eat that much either (or less than me), which can also be difficult for me at times (she says things like “careful if you eat like this when you have less time to work out, you’re going to put on weight”. I know she means well, but it’s hard…haaa Moms…)

  3. Wow….what a fun Easter weekend you had! Berlin looks like a really neat place and that indoor hotel pool looks amazing! Have a great week!

  5. So glad that you and your mom had a fabulous time in Berlin and a great Easter weekend!

    Happy Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh Berlin, you’re so lucky! I went there with my class like 1 1/2 year ago and it was awesome (even if it was raining all the time but well… doesn’t really change from switzerland ;)) I’m glad you had a good time with your mum ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m leaving on wednesday for Innsbruck (Austria) with my mum too to visit my sister, it’s gonna be amazing: lots of great food (i hope) and shopping, I can’t wait and it’s sooo good to have one week of holidays!
I remember you talking about taking a rest week, are you doing this next week with Heather & Kasey “challenge”? Or you’re doing it on your own?
    Happy Monday!

    • Oh I think Innsbruck is amazing too!! I am sure you will have a fantastic time!!
Funny enough I planned my restweek exactly on Heathers and Kasey’s date! Perfect! Will you join? Happy Monday!!

Oh what a fun Easter weekend! That is so awesome! All of your sightseeing, food, drinks & workouts look phenomenal. I am traveling to Iceland with my Mom this Summer & I’m really looking forward to this. I have to say time with family was the most marvelous part of my weekend. Enjoy your week Lucie ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Tim says:

Was really great to see ya again. awesome time. thanks a lot. btw: you did a great workout ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ve been waiting to hear how your vacay was! It looks like it was such a blast!
Seriously, what a fabulous Easter celebration in Berlin.
Family time is always amazing, especially for holidays!
    Happy Monday love!

  10. Welcome back, love! Your trip sounds (and looks!) like it was amazing time. I can imagine that it must have been really something to visit your old flat and wonder who was living there now. My parents still live in the house I grew up in, and the thought of them moving out and someone else moving in just feels so strange. And speaking of my parents’ place, that’s where I spent pretty much the whole weekend… cooking, eating, and just spending time with mom and dad ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I totally feel you! When my Dad died we had to sell our house where I grew up in and it was one of the sadest thinhs ever. I still own a key (I kept it hidden :-)) and go back sometimes just tomstare at the house and feel as a kid again.

  11. The recap I’ve been waiting for! I love Berlin, but I love you IN Berlin even more! I’m so glad you were able to enjoy a weekend there with your mom! Revisiting places you spent a lot of time–and created many memories–is so much fun, and definitely invokes nostalgia. The workout your former trainer put you through looks intense; but girl–you’re rocking some amazing muscle!

My favorite Easter tradition is definitely searching for baskets Easter morning. My brother and I would wake up at the crack of dawn and begin roaming around our house. Sometimes it would take us 30+ minutes to find our baskets! One year, mine was in the oven. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Happy Monday, beautiful! โค xoxo

    • Thank you yo much Sweetie!! I loved the days there. And it’s really nice to finally see some progress in my hard fitness work!

Oh my god, this cracks me up, the basket im the oven!! I loved that tradition too. Today I stillmgetba easter basket not hidden though but full of chocolate – fine with me!!

  12. Greta says:

    Beautiful Easter, Lucie!
Love the picks. Thank you for them. I won’t be heading to Berlin afterwards so seeing these makes me feel better.
I also love your tradition to travel with your mom. You too are so beautiful.
I always visit my parents during Easter and Christmas and we do church at midnight – this is the loveliest as the atmosphere there is mesmerizing and the music spellbinding.
    Happy Monday, love!

    • Oh, sad that you won’t see Berlin, but you will start a new job, how great!!!
Your Easter tradition sounds absolutely wonderful. Have a good start tomorrow!

  13. What a great weekend!! I love how you met up with your old Personal Trainer and that he has his own gym now! Love the Champagne campaign at 10:30, that is my airport thing too ๐Ÿ™‚ Dark chocolate in a hotel bed, sounds fit for a QUEEN! Usually on Easter I get a HUGE basket filled with goodies but this year we just went to brunch with friends..maybe next year ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great week! Love + Shine CourtStar

    • Thank you Courtney!! Yes, the meet up was great and the gym and the workout rocked!! Haha, exactly, champagne at the airport and dark chocolate in the hotelbed is the best!! Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter too!! xxx

  14. Glad you had such a fabulous time Lucie! It would be strange to go back and think about someone living in your old apartment…but it would bring up some nice memories to see it again.
I went home and spent the weekend with my family and the boyfriend’s family. No other way i’d want to spend Easter!

  15. That looks like such fun Lucie! So glad you had a good time!
