WIAW#13 – What I ate Wednesday

Let’s get this party started! WIAW party is the subject today so join in and check out all the What I ate Wednesday’s over at Peas and Crayons! I made sure to have some greeeeeeen in my eats these days!!


I have to throw in a short story before I head on to this Tuesday food. Sandro and me had our 31/2 years (three and a half – not 31 and 2….) anniversary yesterday. Don’t ask me how that tradition began, but we always celebrate this one more than the full year, probably because he always remembers it and I don’t. We wanted to take a picture of us, which turned out to be a hilarious fail. First of all, we both looked fucked up pale, worked off, make-offed and tired and…..it took a little time to get settled….


…then we had no clue where the camera is…..

…when that was sorted out we were already drunk couldn’t hold our eyes open…..

….and when we finally made it, we could only burst in laughter.

I got up at 5 am only to find ANOTHER bottle of champagne, PLUS a sweet letter and a gift voucher for a fancy SPA Hotel in Marbella/Spain for the next time we will be there (October).

Only 5 am in the morning and I was already happy. I jumped on the Spinning Bike for 45 minutes and after that headed off to the station to catch the train to Basel. My Go-to Breakfast was a piece of Banana Bread, a Protein-Plum-Coconut-Cookie and a Bowl of Low Fat Curd Cheese with Cocoa. No greens yet, besides the bowl!!!

When arriving at the office, I made myself a huge cup of green tea and an hour later I was already hungry again…..

I had a Lunch date at my favorite Sushi Bar with a good friend! I LOVE the Sushi Band. Despite being horrendous expensive, I am in love with Sashimi. And look, and I had some greens too!

When I come home after work and don’t go to the gym, I need some time to find my relaxation and inner peace before I start my evening. I don’t know what that is, but I do struggle a lot with the moment of ‘stress release’ when I come home and tend o fall into a slump. In my deep ED days, these were the moments where a binge started.

To avoid the slump, I found some strategies like a short Yoga session, meditation, a shower, a light workout etc. So to ‘beam’ myself to a sunny place, I did 2 Toneitup.com workouts (they are mostly taking place on a beautiful beach) and then did my daily hamstring-stretching-poses and hip-openers….just as my trainer told me πŸ™‚ To finish and relax, I went through a guided 10 minutes Savasana.


A shower after and I was a walking Zen-Tree πŸ™‚

In the mix: 1 Avocado (YES, a WHOLE!!), 1,5 scoops protein powder, 2 handfuls spinach. Since I tend not to feel very satisfied with a ‘drink’ for dinner, I chopped up some carrots to munch on. Nothing wrong with these orange babies.

Relaxing time is also dessert time. I always make sure to have some dark heaven floating around in my house….

    And I’m happy you had a wonderful day. And mmm those treats are so tempting! If I had to pick just one the only dessert – I’d choose chocolate – white (though I have no moderation with it) or dark (not less than 70%).

  2. Oh…my…gosh!!! I LOVE the pictures of you and your man!! You had me laughing out loud by the last couple of poses! And awww, how sweet of him…a bottle of champagne AND a trip to the spa?! What a way to start the day!!

    Since I work nights and usually faceplant into my pillow within minutes of walking through the door, there’s really no “routine” for me other than working as fast as I can to scarf down a bowl/plate of something before I slip into my zombie coma, BUT when I worked nights if I didn’t go to the gym right after work, I always liked to come home and go for a walk around the neighborhood/enjoy some outside time before getting to work on chores/dinner for the night.

    Is that one of those sushi places where the sushi comes by on a conveyer belt? The man-friend told me about a place like that near his house in Nashville and I’m so excited for him to take me one day…hopefully as soon as my knee is feeling better because it’s been TOO long since I’ve had some sushi! Like THREE WEEKS! I know…crazy!

    Favorite dessert: Lately, I’ve been loving on some protein ice cream or Greek yogurt for dessert, but tonight I totally went for pretzels dipped in some (ok a LOT) “healthy” chocolate sauce…I thought I was over my addiction, but alas after only a couple of days, it is BACK! haha!

      YES, this is exactly such a Sushi place with a belt. The only irritating thing is, that when I see a Sushi plate from far and it has to pass 4-5 other customers before, I go crazy because I am panicking that they pick it up before it comes to me. I mean, you could do a dive roll on the table, knock the person who wants to grab YOUR plate down and run back to your seat while stuffing your face with the babies. I just assume that it won’t be appreciated by the staff….
      So I can recommend to do some mental training before you go there πŸ™‚

    That green avocado protein smoothie looks so creamy and thick. I bet it was great. And I’m the same way with not feeling full unless I’ve *crunched* on something.

    And I’m loving your after work routine, too! You’ve really come so far in dealing with those slumps and keeping the negative feelings at bay πŸ™‚ I wouldn’t say that I have much of an after work routine aside from changing into comfier clothes and starting on dinner, but it’s always nice to relax a bit after a crazy day.

  13. Happy (Half-)Anniversary, Lucie! You and Sandro are such a cute couple! The picture fail made me laugh and you, too, apparently which is so important in a relationship. It’s fantastic when you can just laugh a lot with each other. Regarding the presents: I bet you can’t wait for October anymore :D. But then again you’ll have Sandro by yourself every day until then so waiting won’t be too hard, right?
    Funnily enough, a friend of mine used to – or maybe she still does ;)?! – celebrate her half-birthdays, too.

No filter. And no one ever tells me again bullshit like that CrossFit makes me look like a man. Left side, 1998 (19y), ~60kg, in an abusive relationship, fueled by a daily dangerous skinny drug cocktail which almost killed me and hours of cardio, no lifting and an oh so fucked up mindset. Right side, 19 years later today (39y), ~68kg (~8kg gainzzz!!). Recovered from 20 years of extreme disordered eating and drugs; and passionate about CrossFit. A healthy mind (pretty much at least πŸ˜πŸ˜‰), a healthy body, freedom and a joy of life I had never experienced before. To be alive and healthy is a fucking miracle. I've always been a stubborn kid and I never half-assed things - contrary, I went and still go full-ass with everything I did and do - which also led me to extreme addictions. But it also allowed me to fight through suicidal thoughts and hurdles. Yet, if you want to overcome something so incredibly strong and stubborn like an Eating Disorder you have to be stronger and more stubborn and to want it with all your heart and to give everything you got. If you are willing to let go in favour of your health, then get your shit together, you can do it. It's possible, I'm the living proof. Trust your strength and never stop believing. And for fucks sake, no one ever goes trying to make me feel embarrassed about my muscles again. I'm not.
