I hope you had a great weekend. I heard about NEMO and sent all my good thoughts out to everyone!! I hope you were all safe!! We did not have blizzards around here, but it was really cold.
Sandro picked me up from the station and we went for a drink and chat at the bar around the corner of our home before he had to head off for his boys-card-game-night.
When I arrived home a great surprise waited for me – my Foodie Penpal package arrived! Nic put together the nicest stuff for me and included a sweet card, I was so happy about it. Talking about Nichola – this woman is amazing! Not only is she the mother of 7 (SEVEN) children but she also runs her own Cake-Decoration-Company. How COOL is that?? I had a creme egg years back when I was in the UK, and YES, it is probably loaded with many unhealthy additives, but you know what – I don’t care. For the really rare times I get to eat one of these I know my body will forgive me. It did not live long you can be sure….and I enjoyed every bite!!
Unusual for a Friday but I got into a baking mood. I created a really yummy version of a Protein Muffin and sent the pic to the ToneItUp girls. Since I used Perfect Fit Protein for it, they immediately posted it on their Facebook site and I was really pleased!
Saturday morning I was awake nice and bright and after a preworkout snack I rocked some of Shannons Beach Workouts she created for me. It left me as a sweaty mess, thanks God I had my HEADBAND, YAY!
I normally don’t eat anything before my morning workout. I get up, meditate, drink hot lemon water and start my workout. But if I sleep longer and plan such a MasterWorkout with lots of HIIT, strength circuit and Cardio I definitely need a booster before. My body normally is out of food by then for about 14 hours and I feel weak and drained. So I had 2 of my amazeballs plus the gingerbread nakd bar:
Do you eat before your workout in the morning? I just can’t handle food at 5:30 in the morning to be honest. But at 8 – yes.
I gave my body a break after the workout with 2 rounds of Savasana, a long shower and some rest before I preared post workout lunch. It was SO simple and SO good.
Saturday night we had a date with a couple, really good friends of us. After a bottle of champagne at our place we went to an oriental place in Zurich. We skipped appetizers and ordered right on the Mezze-Plate to share. It was really really good. I especially loved the stuffed wineleaves, the Goat-Cheese-Tomato-Mousse and the Mint-Couscous. It was nice to have dinner out since I haven’t done this in weeks! It just did not happen, it wasn’t even planned. But since I LOVE going out for dinner, that was definitely a good night.
I knew that they have this all fresh mint tea and asked for one after we ate and well, it was literally stuffed with freshness!!
We wanted to take advantage of this splendid weather as much as possible and took the train up the hill and went for a walk through the snow! It was REALLY cold but the sun and that breathtaking view made up for it!
It was beautiful and so refreshing. When we came home I spent again some time in the kitchen to do some meal prep, stock up on unsweetened applesauce and to prepare dinner.
