Marvelous in my Monday!!

Good morning and happy Monday to all of you!

MIMM is hosted by lovely Katie, thank you so much!

I hope you had a great weekend. I heard about NEMO and sent all my good thoughts out to everyone!! I hope you were all safe!! We did not have blizzards around here, but it was really cold.

Sandro picked me up from the station and we went for a drink and chat at the bar around the corner of our home before he had to head off for his boys-card-game-night.

Campari Tonic for me

IMG_2669When I arrived home a great surprise waited for me – my Foodie Penpal package arrived! Nic put together the nicest stuff for me and included a sweet card, I was so happy about it. Talking about Nichola – this woman is amazing! Not only is she the mother of 7 (SEVEN) children but she also runs her own Cake-Decoration-Company. How COOL is that?? You should check out her Facebook Page!

Different flavor green tea, nakd bars, cadbury chocolate and creme egg!!!

Different flavor green tea, nakd bars, cadbury chocolate and creme egg!!!

I had a creme egg years back when I was in the UK, and YES, it is probably loaded with many unhealthy additives, but you know what – I don’t care. For the really rare times I get to eat one of these I know my body will forgive me. It did not live long you can be sure….and I enjoyed every bite!!

Foto 2But before this indulgement I fueled my body with a good load of proteins since I did 2 intense workouts that day (including GRIT!).

Unusual for a Friday but I got into a baking mood. I created a really yummy version of a Protein Muffin and sent the pic to the ToneItUp girls. Since I used Perfect Fit Protein for it, they immediately posted it on their Facebook site and I was really pleased!

IMG_2680I will post the recipe PLUS a new DELICIOUS savory bake tomorrow!!

Saturday morning I was awake nice and bright and after a preworkout snack I rocked some of Shannons Beach Workouts she created for me. It left me as a sweaty mess, thanks God I had my HEADBAND, YAY!

I normally don’t eat anything before my morning workout. I get up, meditate, drink hot lemon water and start my workout. But if I sleep longer and plan such a MasterWorkout with lots of HIIT, strength circuit and Cardio I definitely need a booster before. My body normally is out of food by then for about 14 hours and I feel weak and drained. So I had 2 of my amazeballs plus the gingerbread nakd bar:

Do you eat before your workout in the morning? I just can’t handle food at 5:30 in the morning to be honest. But at 8 – yes.

I gave my body a break after the workout with 2 rounds of Savasana, a long shower and some rest before I preared post workout lunch. It was SO simple and SO good.

Saturday night we had a date with a couple, really good friends of us. After a bottle of champagne at our place we went to an oriental place in Zurich. We skipped appetizers and ordered right on the Mezze-Plate to share. It was really really good. I especially loved the stuffed wineleaves, the Goat-Cheese-Tomato-Mousse and the Mint-Couscous. It was nice to have dinner out since I haven’t done this in weeks! It just did not happen, it wasn’t even planned. But since I LOVE going out for dinner, that was definitely a good night.

I knew that they have this all fresh mint tea and asked for one after we ate and well, it was literally stuffed with freshness!!

IMG_2698Sunday was rest day. I slept until I really could not fall back asleep anymore and then got up to see this:

IMG_2704Sandro was aleady out for a run so I decided to do my meditation and then get my stuff and hit a nice walk.

IMG_2702 IMG_2703 IMG_2709We wanted to take advantage of this splendid weather as much as possible and took the train up the hill and went for a walk through the snow! It was REALLY cold but the sun and that breathtaking view made up for it!

IMG_2722 IMG_2725 IMG_2733 IMG_2740

It was beautiful and so refreshing. When we came home I spent again some time in the kitchen to do some meal prep, stock up on unsweetened applesauce and to prepare dinner.

  1. Your meaning to tell me Sandro didn’t make you breakfast in bed this weekend?? Ha Ha!

…I adore both the photos of you in the snow. You are so gorgeous Lucie I love hearing your weekend recaps because they always sound like so much fun. Can’t wait for this muffin recipe. They look yummy πŸ™‚

  2. What a wonderful weekend Lucie! Love that you received Nakd bars for your foodie penpal package, they are wayy too good! And so cute that you ate your Creme Egg with a spoon, so funny to see the different way people eat theirs!

wow that seems like a great weekend for you! I went skiing the last 4 days with friends and it was amazing – so great to be on holidays after these awful exams!
And it’s funny to see how we’re all so different: when i wake up, i’m usually so hungry that i have to eat something within 15minutes. Happy Monday! πŸ™‚

I saw your recipe picture on tone it up and was so excited for you!!! Can’t wait for the recipe! Those cadbury cream eggs were my favorite when I was younger! I haven’t had one in forever and I think that needs to change πŸ™‚ Happy Monday!

Gosh, can I come for your next weekend? I loved it.Thank you for sharing all this in PICTURES, love πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
I’m so exited for that recipe of yours and you have so much more great ones to share. I have to check out that site asap.
As for your question – you already know I had a birthday party and an amazing sunday night with my girlfriends.
And I never eat before my workouts, if you see me do – I’m not working out that day. I can’t lift anything while my stomach has stuff in it πŸ˜€ but that nakd bar looks appetizing. Bon appetite, dear!

    • Haha sure Sweetie, always welcome!!! (Seriously)!
I am so happy for you that you had such a wonderful birthday weekend.
Totally agree – food in my stomach and sweat on my fave does not go together πŸ˜…

  6. Omigoodness – the views on your walk really were beautiful; and speaking of which, you’re looking gorgeous yourself, girlie! As much as I wish it, I can’t sleep in… no matter how late I go to sleep, my body naturally wakes me up every morning around 5:30 or 6… I can’t even remember the last time I slept in past 6:30! Annoying for sure, but I guess that’s what afternoon naps are for πŸ˜€

    • Thank you girl!!!
Gosh…..I would look like a Zombie. I mean I get up 5:15 every day during the week so I have to get some more on the weekend. Afternoon naps are great though! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜΄

  7. gosh all the food looks amazing. i have never whipped cottage cheese but I do love my cottage cheese a whole lot

Gorgeous views you’ve got, amazing! I love Cadburry Creme Eggs & only get them around Easter, so delish! I am terrible at sleeping in, my body clock is SET in stone! We had a fabulous weekend getting “things” done around the house & then some relaxing time drinking wine & watching the Grammy’s! Happy Monday πŸ™‚

    • Ooh that sounds like the perfect weekend too!!
I used to have a hard time sleeping in too. But since I allow myself to really just stay in bed with no clock at all it works and it’s so refreshing for a change!

  9. That ginger bread Naked bar sounds super delicious! I wonder if they are available here in the States??

    • They are really good!! I don’t know – we definitely do not have them here in Switzerland but I am quite sure that there is a good chance in the states to at least order them!

  10. Oh my, can I come join you on your adventures next weekend? It looks like the last few days were packed to the brim with fun! πŸ˜€ My mind can’t move past that Cadbury creme egg–one of my all-time favorite childhood chocolate treats! My brother and I used to find them in our Easter baskets each year, and it was the only time that my parents allowed us to eat chocolate for breakfast. πŸ˜‰ I’ll need to pick one up for memories’ sake this year.

Everything else looks wonderful–the chocolate muffins (can’t wait for that recipe!), the breathtaking scenery on your snow walk, those Nak’d bars (I’ve never seen them in the US! 😦 ), and your Sunday night dinner. Truly a marvelous weekend! xoxo ❀

    • Haha, thanks Love! I think I need to organize a blogger get together in Switzerland, take you all to these beautiful views and cook for you guys πŸ™‚
The nakd bars are from the UK so not sure if you find them in the US. And I am very sad that the creme egg is already in my belly πŸ™‚ xxxx
