WIAW# 9 – What I ate Wednesday

6. February 2013 by swissfitchick

Good morning everyone, welcome to a new round of WIAW – What I ate Wednesday hosted by Jen over at Peas and Crayons.

What WIAW isn’t about –

Comparison – Judgement – Restriction – Guilt

What WIAW IS about –

Celebrating one of the glorious things we all have in common: We all eat!

We all know that these are my meals from Tuesday, so be prepared for some good Tuesday stuff.
My schedule included my first personal training with Daniel. Since I want to get leaner/tone up my body, he suggested that we start to do some heavier weight lifting than I am used to. He alsoย adviced me not to do another workout on that day. It was weird for me to get up and not workout first thing in the morning, but I followed his advice and only went with my meditation.

I baked this Banana-Protein-Muffin on Monday evening and was excited to have it in the morning, it tastes delicious! The recipe is from Danielle and I use it quite regularly. I am in love with pomseeds lately – so delicious!!

The very rare time I have coffee, I drink black espresso or espresso macchiato. I got this one yesterday which I think is totally cute.

Breakfast was very early and did not hold me over until lunch. I grabbed one of my favorite food since this weekend – a savory chicken thigh muffin!!

I also prepped a huge batch of Quinoa to grab and go during the week. This is what I love with meal prep. I always cook up a good amount of Quinoa, Sweet Potatoes, chicken, and a huge bowl of veggies. This way I can just throw the things together I feel like having for lunch or dinner, warm it up – perfect.

Before my weight lifting session I had to dig in on some energy – since my weekend was full of baking and cooking, I had these ready too:

I could eat ONE – they are very filling and got a bit too sweet for my taste.

And believe me, I was pretty darn glad I had this booster. The workout was REALLY challenging!! Daniel guided me through this:

We did 10 rounds (10 reps, 9 reps, 8 reps etc.) – and YES, I felt almost dead after…..:-) ย But it was great and I am looking forward to be challenged more!

In the evening one of my best friends came over like many times on a Tuesday. We made it kind of a tradition to do a healthy dinner date at my place with girlschat, watching shows and throwing some good foods together.

Oh well, ya know….I might be 34 but I can be so entertained by these…..

  1. Look at youuu!! Beasting it up @ the gym… you go girl!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Isn’t it great what meal prepping does for you? Makes life so much easier.

  2. Nadja says:

I tried making Amazeballz yesterday but they didn’t stick well together. Guess my baking talents are not so great… ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Did you include the dates? There must be a sticky ingredient which is not too liquid. If it still doesn’t stick, add a tiny bit of milk knead well and place them in the fridge – then it should work.

      • Nadja says:

oh thanks for these tips! The recipe didn’t include dates so i don’t know what happened ๐Ÿ˜‰ but i’m not sure i’m gonna do this recipe again as it was a little too nutritious for me! I’ll try another one next time

  3. The heart on your coffee is too cute and I love the look of those Amazeballs!

  4. Greta says:

  5. Looks like a very challenging workout! I’ve been loving pom seeds so much too! Happy WIAW!!

  6. That breakfast muffin looks seriously good, and you are doing a great job with meal preparation. I know personally I HATE doing it, but I’m always glad when it’s humpday and I don’t have to do too much cooking.

Love the heart on your coffee. Too cute.

Great job on the weights. Meditation too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Kinder eggs! Omigosh I love them! I’m 28 and still get a kick out of anything that combines chocolate and toys. 12. livliveslife says:

Prepping food is so smart, especially when it’s healthy things like quinoa! And I’m definitely checking out that chicken muffin! ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I’ve never made savory muffins before. Need to try that sometime! And yay for “รœberraschungseier” ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. P says:

    I love Kinder chocolate :3
Those chocolate eggs remind me of when they made Wonderballs (chocolate hollow balls with a prize inside—stickers, a small toy…most of the time they were Disney characters themed!).

  15. […] Lucie – “I started to lift heavy weights again! I am a circuit/HIIT/TRX/Crossfit freak, but since I want to get leaner/toned up I started to do new heavy weight routines with my trainer. It was challenging and will continue to be – so excited!” […]

Who thought I would ever write again. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
