WIAW #7 – What I ate Wednesday

23. January 2013 by swissfitchick

Wednesday! While this post is uploading, I am already doing my morning workout routine to be ready to jump on the plane later – direction SPAIN!! Yes, you know it already, but I just wanted to make sure I said it again….this is where I will be in a few hours….

But before I annoy you with sunny pics from the beach I join another round of the Wednesday Party!!

I am in love with new breakfast creations and when I saw this Protein Buckwheat Bowl on Lisa’s blog, I knew this will be a good one.Β I adapted it a bit and switched the milk by 2 eggwhites and replaced the banana by pumpkin. It turned out just the way I expected and to have that this yesterday morning after my early run, was just the perfect start into my day:

Yes, hers looks much prettier. I still need to work on my ‘plating’ and ‘photographing’ skill.

I topped mine with a little bit of unsweetened applesauce instead of her peanut flour frosting.

I actually wanted to head over to the gym at lunch to do my Shannon-Killer Workout, but a meeting at work lasted longer than I expected, so IΒ postponed workout time to the late afternoon and had lunch instead which was perfectly fine with me….

PLUS a piece of olive bread, which I forgot to take a picture of…..It didn’t do me any good as always when I eat bread, my stomach got upset, but oh well, will I ever learn.

Even though I was hungry for a preworkout snack, a very popular one around here lately….

So after work I cycled to the gym and did a dumbell circuit, a TRX circuit and some Cardio rounds and was clean and bright for my date with one of my very best friends Sylvi. I was SO SO SO much looking forward to this, since I haven’t seen her since christmas!! She was on her honeymoon which was surely wonderful for her but so lonely and long for me. Now she’s back and I am one happy girl. Oh, well, now I leave for Spain tomorrow. What a bad timing. Anyway, the night was fabulous filled with girls talk, laughter and SUSHI.

PS. Is this only me or do you have this little mental war with the other customers when you sit at the Sushi line? I always bet, that someone picks JUST the one plate I spotted from far away and waiting for it to tootle near me. And then she/he grabs it….and there’s nothing you can do about it. Well, you could jump up, run over, hammering the customer from the side, punch him/her down, grab the plate and run away.Β

I am in for Thankful Thursday tomorrow! Make sure you check in!

  3. Ah Lucie I’m so envious of your trip to Spain, I hope you get some lovely weather there πŸ™‚ Sushi looks delicious too!

Why is your new post NOT on my reader???!!! Are you hiding, Lucie? πŸ˜€
Gosh! Spain!! Gosh! I was there only once. And I’m in love with it! Will you be blogging from there or you are taking a vocation from your blog as well?
And I’m in love with sushi too!
Your looks humongous and so delish!

Have a fabulous time on the beach! Can I come join you?!!! Meals look great as always! I’ve been dying to try Lisa’s buckwheat bowl. It just sounds amazing!

  6. Safe trip, hun! So incredibly jealous that you’ll be enjoying a gorgeous time in Spain shortly! Send some sunshine and good weather vibes my way? I’m drowning in snow and ice here. And your eats are looking delicious as always!

  7. I have never been to a sushi bar like that but I bet I would feel the same way. I am jealous of your trip but hope for the best.

  8. Picky Nicky says:

I have that quest bar in my cupboard but I havent tried it yet! Now I will!

  9. Lisa’s buckwheat bowls do look insanely good. As does yours.

Enjoy the sunshine while we in the states writhe in ice and coldness πŸ˜€

I’ve been meaning to try a buckwheat bake/bowl, I even bought the buckwheat…but am still missing other ingredients. It’s gonna happen!

  11. Haha that’s so funny. If I see a plate that I want from far away I’m always sending vibes to the people ahead of me not to pick it up! You’ve made me crave sushi!

  12. Oh yum! I’m guessing the sushi place was tapas-style? There’s one of those in Nashville (the “big” city) but around here, you just order a whole roll (anywhere from 5-12 pieces) at a time or ala cart sashimi. Speaking of sashimi, that tuna and salmon is making me drool….LOVE it! I would love a place where I could just order sashimi and avocado on a plate…with some eel sauce (I’m not a huge fan of rice)…wonder if I can find a restaurant like that? So glad you got to see your bestie! And it’s always great to catch up over sushi! My sis and I are long overdue for a sister-sushi date! πŸ™‚

I think I need to try that buckwheat bake…looks delish…especially with the pumpkin! And a little styling tip? After you microwave anything, transfer it to another bowl or wipe it clean with a towel so you don’t have the mess on the sides! πŸ˜‰

    • So me!! I am not too big of a rice person. (Are rice-persons as a word existing? πŸ™‚ ) I just LOVE these Sushi bands, as you can really choose what you want right in the moment. And look at it first, haha. Awe, THANKS!! As ou (F*** spanish tzpeboard, can’t handle it!!) ok again: As yyyou know, I am still working on my plating and photographing skill. I am getting better. My first posts are disgusting. How was I ever able to eat what I photographed?? Haha πŸ™‚

Who thought I would ever write again. Link in Bio. β€š'In essence, love is the consistent embodiment of care, compassion, kindness, and joy toward yourself, your partner, and each other as two interconnected and supported beings. If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
