Marvelous in my Monday!!

21. January 2013 by swissfitchick

Greetings! It’s Monday-Party-Time! Go ahead, check out Katie’s blog for more Marvelousity for a good start off.

Welcome to another weekend recap. It was a great mix of rest and productivity. Off to a good start on Friday with this Lovenote on my doorstep in the morning from my man:

Then lunch at home with my friend:

Spinach Salad, Smoked Trout, Brussel Sprouts. Cherry Tomatoes, Coconut Chips

I did quite some workouts on Friday. In the AM it was a short leg circuit, after work 30minutes GRIT and a TRX Bootcamp class. I loved the classes!! Will definitely do these more frequently.

So I needed to give my body some well deserved recovery treats:

Trainer Daniel was so sweet to give me this Foam Roll for at home. Hurts SO good.

I truly need this in my life.

Sandro came to pick me up and we traveled back to Zurich together. I was completely knocked off by the time we arrived home and crawled right into bed at 11:30 pm. And I woke up. At. drumroll. drumroll. drumroll. 10:00 AM. YES!! 10 and 1/2 hours of sleep. Aaawwww. It was SO good. With all this sleep and NO workout I had the time and energy to get things done which were on my list for way too long…..

Ironing Laundry (not the hair yet)….

Not very pleased about the pile still waiting for me.....

Do you spot the panic in my eyes? Knowing about the pile that is still waiting for me…..

Coloring my nails…..

Snacking around….

Finally getting my hair done with the new bought stuff….

And I finished another scarf! I actually intended to knit one for myself to survive winter, but so far I gave them all away – much more pleasant to see someones smile about it!

Sandro had a night out with his boys so I chilled home alone which I love. I tried out a new recipe and I must say….it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S.

Mashed cauliflower-pumpkin-coconut-cream & roasted giant prawns

You see, I am on a GIANT giant-prawns trip. Seriously, they are SO good and currently they sell them fresh for sale, so how can I not hoard tons of ’em and stuff my face every day??
I took Shannons recipe and added pumpkin and some other spices and you bet, I licked the plate when finished #sorrynotsorry !!

Sunday morning I was well rested and felt like a good workout which included a run outside in the snow followed by one of Shannons strength workouts.

Rest of Sunday was easy and lazy as always and ended with another round of bliss.

Broccoli-Cauliflower-Soup, Coconut-Chicken Fries, Prawns

Chicken-Fries Recipe and a new incredibly delicious Hummus Recipe will be on tomorrow for Tuesday Recipes!!

I totally love to cook my veggies in different ways. As much as I love my simple steamed veggie-bowls or my oh-so-amazing-salad-combos, it’s so nice to switch up once in a while.

So this morning is school again, tomorrow work and then…..FIVE DAYS SPAIN!!! Yup! Sandro and me go for a short trip to Costa del Sol where his parents own a house. I LOVE this place and can not wait to get there and to inhale some sun, temperatures of 15Β°C and the oceanbreeze…..and doing my workouts at the beach which is just so much better!!

Morningsun while my morning run last year - Benajarafe, Costa del Sol

BUT – there will still be Tuesday Recipes, WIAW, Thankful Thursday and a SPAIN-post – can’t wait to share it with you.

Have a wonderful day!

  2. nadja says:

oh where do you buy that coconut water? And these 2 soups look more than delicious, i totally need to recreate this. Love your scarf πŸ™‚ Happy Monday!

    • I bought it at Migros! The big ones sell it. Or you find Dr.Martins unsweetened coco juice in the Whole Foods store. And thanks, the soups taste delicious and I will share the recipes next week!

      • nadja says:

oh great i’m directly going to Migros haha. Can i just ask how many servings make your coconut curry shrimps recipe (as i want to do it for my whole family :))?

      • Hm, depends what you serve with it. The recipe on the post is for 1 person served with veggies. If you serve a more filling side, I would say the serving on the recipe is enough for 2! Hope that helps! Would love to hear how your family liked it!!

  3. Sandro is such a sweetie!! And wow, that mashed cauliflower-pumpkin-coconut cream looks amazing. If you don’t mind sharing, how much pumpkin & what spices did you add in?? I’m literally drooling over it. I don’t know why you need me to teach you recipes, because um girl you are always sharing delicious ones!!

–just sent you an e-mail too btw xox

    • I added 100g pumpkin, that is, hmmmm about 1/2 cup. And I added Coriander, Curry and Garlic. I will share it Tuesday next week! Well, I just think YOURS look and sound to die for. We definitely need a cooking session together, πŸ™‚

  4. Love your love note Lucie – so sweet! Your hair looks so pretty, very princess like πŸ™‚ Glad you had a good weekend, your body obviously needed a good rest!

  5. Your hair looks awesome!! And I love prawns!!! Looks like a fun weekend.

Your meals look delicious! I love that hair too. So pretty! I am obsessed with my flat iron and I know you will be too. Such a great final touch to add to your hair. Happy Monday!

  7. Omigosh, that lovenote on your doorstep? SO sweet! You’re a lucky girl! But then again, someone as sweet and gorgeous (love the new hair!) as yourself deserves no less. So great to hear that you had such a marvelous weekend, hun. Good food and great workouts? Definitely a winning combination. Hope your week is off to just an awesome of a start!

  8. Your hair looks gorgeous! And that salad looks so delicious – smoked trout and coconut chips? Yes please! How good is the feeling of getting up after a long sleep? After traveling from Australia to the UK (24 hour journey), I slept for 13.5 hours and felt like a million dollars!

  9. for some reason I can just not get into coconut water, but man I want those prawns!

  10. sloanepitman says:

Oh em gee I don’t know where to start!!! Your weekend sounds marvelous, your hair is BANGIN, and all you eats look sooooo yummy! I can’t even handle it. I’m going to be all over this page tomorrow as I just ran out of my last batch of homemade hummus! And SLEEP! Glorious glorious sleep. I’m so happy for you! Can’t wait to hear about Costa Del Mar!
    Love you!

    • Awe Hunn, your comment gave me a huge smile thank you so much!! You definitely need to check it out the recipe is so unbelievable easy to make but ooooh so superdelish!! Happy Monday Sweetie!!

  11. What a sweet note to leave! He’s a keeper πŸ™‚ Smoked trout is one of my favourite things ever! I would love a big chunk of it right now. I too have been making more of an effort to foam roll lately. It just makes me feel so much better after working out hard!

  12. Awww, that lovenote is so sweet – you’re one lucky girl! And beautiful :).

It’s so kind you keep knitting scarves for others rather than yourself. Nothing sweeter than a handmade scarf to keep you warm. While I can’t knit myself my mum keeps knitting me hats, pullovers/dresses and wristlets. How long does it usually take you to knit one scarf? I know I’d need aaaaages.

Would you mind mailing me some of that Pumpkin-Coconut soup?! It looks soooo good!

  13. Oh my gosh, I went to be the other night around 11pm and shocked the heck out of myself when I didn’t get up till 9:30!!! It felt SO good to get caught up on some much needed sleep (which can be really hard when you work nights). Sounds like your weekend was nice and productive! I love checking stuff off the list of things to do…especially when it involves laundry (my most hated chore). I never iron though…I just can’t do it…most of the time I just put the clothes in the dryer and hope it will work it’s wrinkle magic! Of course, I have been known to take my hair straightener to some of my sleeves or the ends of a shirt! I’m so lazy! Lol

Ugh, I wish I were more crafty! I want to make scarves!

If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
