Marvelous in my Monday!

14. January 2013 by swissfitchick

Welcome to a new round of this flipping cool Monday party! Head over to lovely Katie at and check out more Marvelousity!

Monday usually is kind of a weekend recap which I love. This one will be a boring one, as I had no plans at all. And you know what? I loved it. We had a crazy December with so many dinnerparties, get-togethers, drinks out and celebrations, we decided to take it really slow in January. And I felt weak and umotivated, I think the busy week knocked me off and I surely overdid once again with workouts. So Friday night (Sandro was at the movies) was chilling along with the couch, a movie, a light and yummy dinner, iPad and knitting.

Saturday morning a shorter than normal Cardio/TRX workout happened. Followed by – guess what – Pancakes. Did I mention that I am obsessed by my pancakes lately? I did. Ok, sorry.

Saturday afternoon consisted of sipping tea and reading magazines/newspaper in our fave coffeplace –

– walking at the lake –

– having a snack –

– grocery shopping and sending off Foodie Penpal stuff –

Mostly eggs and veggies.....

I felt a bit guilty that I was so burnt out all weekend. Especially for Sandro since I knew he was thinking about going out for dinner with me.

‘Honey, I am sorry I am so boring this weekend. – ‘Naah. You just need a rest. I’ll rest with you.’

‘Is it very bad to spend the weekend with such a boring person like me?’ – ‘Well, you obviously got the right man. I am boring too. Let’s be boring.’

‘I am a boring girlfriend right?’ – ‘Not boring. Relaxed. I like it.’

I love this man.

Sunday morning I slept in. Till 9am. And then I took my book and started to read while still lying in bed. Sandro got up and went for a run, I stayed in bed. Did you read this? SANDRO WENT FOR A RUN AND I STAYED IN BED. I think that never happened ever before and it didn’t happen because I was sick or depressed, no, I just loved to rest some more and to stay in bed as long as I want to with my book because I can and because I want and because it’s Sunday. It was BEAUTIFUL especially after my man brought me some needed stuff near me.

We actually got active later on with something we wanted to do since weeks – iceskating!!! It was so freaking cold, but it was SO MUCH FUN. And it totally woke me up 🙂

We spent quite some time in the kitchen (I did my meal prep) and created this. A bomb exploded and some housebreakers were looking for gold. Ah, no, Sandro and me were cooking. I know we have a problem. But believe me, after cleaning up, it looks superclean again. But we just can’t stay organized while cooking!! Anyone else has this problem?? Please, anyone!!! :

And since Januar 13th is the day when my Dad passed – 12 years ago, I was thinking of him and missing him even more.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. If you have a rough week ahead I send you loads of positive power and energy!!

  1. You guys finally went ice skating!! It looks like y’all were having a friggen blast! I cannot believe (but am so proud) that you decided to stay in bed instead of heading out for a run with Sandro. Maybe you should think of doing this more often if breakfast in bed is what happens? Ha Ha

–Thinking of you & your dad today girl ❤

  2. What a lovely weekend Lucie! I’m so glad you managed to rest and take time to relax and be yourself, no better way to recharge those batteries :). Your ice skating looks amazing and I want to try that hummus!!

Looks like such a fun weekend. I’m jealous that you have TRX at home and that you went ice skating. Stay positive!

  6. Can I have your cooking motivation? There are some killer eats lady, so jealous over here.

  7. Big hugs to you, hun. It’s never easy to go through those days that have such negative memories attached to them, but I’m glad to see that you were able to do some smiling this weekend 🙂

So beautiful, Lucie, I’m wordless. I long for the weekend like that, I meditate and plan of doing nothing and then suddenly something comes up… like a birthday dinner or something.
I laughed at you not joining your boyfriend for the run – bravo! It was such a lady like gesture and a wise one as well – sometimes we just need the rest.
Your food – oh, so yum! And I hope you’ll share the recipe on humus.
Also, the saddest part – I’m so sorry for your dad. I love mine deadly and I can hardly imagine a life without him. And we’ve celebrated his birthday on the 13th… unfortunate coincidence, I wish I knew what an imported date it was to you… Sending you lots of virtual hugs and kisses, and millions of beautiful thoughts.

    • Thank you love! It is so good to have nothing on the plan sometimes. You should do it, it’s so relaxing!! The Hummus Recipe is on the Recipe page, check it out! And thank you so much for your thoughts and hugs. Means the world to me.
