Hello and welcome to another round of WIAW – what I ate Wednesday!! A big thank you to Jen who is hosting this great campaign!
So this is again more of the food I had on Tuesday and even a meal from Monday. BUT I start with my breakfast from today which is totally delicious:
Now back to Monday and Tuesday – since I did not feel particularly well on New Year’s eve I just cooked up some Pumpkin-Prridge, cause I felt that my stomach could cope with that. It’s warm, comforting, light and quite easy to digest. Well, just not a very festive meal, right….
Tuesday morning I woke up and felt weak and drained and STARVING! I ran into the kitchen and grabbed what I could get and that was this:
-you probaby wonder what the heck that is – this is a very traditional Basel-Speciality called ‘Faschtewaie’ – sorry I can not translate this into English, it’s just a Swiss German word. It was a plain and dry thing which I craved after having this upset stomach the night before. I love these, but I have to be decent by eating them, as it’s white grain and that causes bloating. And this:
So that wasn’t really a ‘meal’, more like snacking, but it was just what I needed. I went out for a walk to start the New Year, Sandro was still sleeping. It was so nice to be out and breathe the fresh air, and no people around yet.
Lunch was GOOD!!!

Tipp: I always wanted to make my omelets or scrambled eggs fluffier – now I tried to add a splash of almond milk, and well, it DOES make a difference!! Much better!!
You probably think ‘I thought she wanted to detox’ – YES, I am actually on it, haha!! 🙂 Detox for me means I do eat even more clean and I cut back on sugar, carbs and alcohol, and practise portion control – but it doesn’t mean I cut it out completely. If I do that I put myself in danger to relapse and that is the least I want to happen. I want to give my body some treats, to satisfy the sweet craving. For the next few weeks/months I definitely need to minimize them, cause I want to shape up.
I had a bit of a timing problem in the evening – we went to the movies which started at 5pm and came back home at 7:30. At 8pm I had ma Skype date with Shannon, so no time for dinner, but sorry, that’s a NO GO! So I just packed a small dinner up to grab right after the movie….
