I hope you all had a wonderful christmas eve or just a great night if you were not celebrating.
This post will be short, I want to save some stuff for tomorrow’s WIAW – What I ate Wednesday, so I will only post a few pics from last night’s christmas eve. Sandro and me spent it together on the Uetliberg, a mountain in Zurich in a fantastic hotel.
Arriving on the top this was what expected us:
Then it was time to dress up for dinner!
I got this glittering headband just a day before and I like it.
We had a drink before dinner at the bar and then stepped outside for a little fresh air and to see this:
I am sorry I did not take one picture of the food. I just felt a bit inhibited to click around all the time, and I really just wanted to enjoy the night with Sandro. I can tell you though the food was really good – not a lot, but good – except the dessert. I took a bite and then pushed it away….and since it is quite difficult for me to end a dinner without dessert, I had to empty the mini-bar in the hotel room and eat some Toblerone in bed….totally fine with me!! 🙂 We also had a really good wine, my favorite, AMARONE. I just realized once again why I never drink wine. I got an awful headache, hot flushes and had a very fitfully sleep. I definitley stay with my few glasses of prosecco in the future!!
In the morning we woke up with this view:
We then went for an outdoor workout. It’s beautiful to run up there and we wanted to take advantage of that. We ran for an hour and then did some Tabatas and Circuits for 20 minutes:
SanTabata by Gina:
30 lunges (15 each leg)
30 juming jacks
20 push ups
> 3 rounds
My own Tabata:
1. Knee Ups
2. Jumping Jacks
4. Flying Lunges
100 Sit ups or 1 minute Plank
30 Jumping Jacks
20 Triceps Dips
> 3 rounds
It was really hard and we were both pretty knocked out, but my headache was gone!
Breakfast was calling:
Sandro’s parents were joining us for breakfast, which was really nice.
We took the train down to Zurich later on and I threw myself right into dessert-making-mode. We have the christmas dinner at my Mom’s place tonight and I promised to bring a dessert. She thinks I will buy something 🙂 So I swore to suprise her and make her favortie dessert, a berry-tiramisu. It’s more a summer-dessert, but that’s why somebody invented frozen berries, right? You bet I licked the spoon when it was finished and….oh. IT IS SO GOOOD. Watch out: this is NOT a healthy version. It contains Mascarpone, Cream, Sugar and Cookies. I wanted to do a REAL one for christmas and for Mom, her partner and Sandro since I assume that they are not as a big fan as me of healthy desserts 🙂 And yes, I am going to eat from it. I have my first Skype date with my coach Shannon from Badass fitness on January 1st, so I will have a long break from indulgements soon!
