Marvelous in my Monday!!

Good morning!! Today we celebrate once again MIMM – Marvelous in my Monday hosted by the lovely Katie over at, thank you!!

I had a busy AND chilly weekend, it was the perfect mix! Friday I woke up early and headed off to the gym for a heartpumping workout. Coming home, I cooked up some good fuel and checked emails, blogs, Skype and all the other virtualities.

After hardly getting over that fact that my flat needs some cleaning I did that unwillingly (while cursing the vacuum cleaner)Β and got picked up by Mom by lunchtime, to drive to Zurich for some shopping. What else is better than having a day off and spend it with Mom doing christmas shopping? But first, after arriving in Zurich, we sat down to have a cup of tea and a chat.

While Mom was despoiling expensive stores which clothes I can not afford, I made myself comfortable with a very rare cup of coffee and some important news.

I got my christmas present. SHOES.

I am not sure though how happy Sandro is about this picking. It’s kind of an issue that I just don’t have space left in my shoecupboard. That means I just leave the ones I use currently spreaded around on the floor. Hm.

Do I have a problem?

After powershopping for several hours, when the day was already dark, we sat down to celebrate our findings with a drink.

IMG_1672I was knocked out after that day and wanted to be home and chill. But we did agree with our friends, that we would meet them at the christmasmarket a short drive away from Zurich and will go to the attached party later on. I was really not feeling like this – but once I got there, had my first hot spiced wine, and saw all the friends, everything was good. We strolled around the market for quite some time and then headed off to the party for some fun and dancing.

These events took place in the little village close to Zurich where Sandro grew up. As we both had drinks, we planned to stay overnight at his parents place. They own such a beautiful house there and I always enjoy staying there.

It was raining hard when we woke up so we decided a chilling Saturday should be happening. We just went for a walk before breakfast instead of a run and returned very soon as we were craving the breakfast that was ready. I loved it.

Sandro had another dinner party with his boys in the evening so I returned home to Zurich in the afternoon. It was SO peaceful, to just know that I could go home on a Saturday afternoon/night, alone and with no plans at all. I grabbed a salad on the way for dinner and sneaked in a short spinning/HIITcircuit before the couch soaked me in completely πŸ™‚ I called it a night when I sat down with dinner and my favorite christmas movie.

Sunday was racetime again!! This time it was the christmas-race here in Zurich, 8,6km. Sandro was with me again to support me and to take pictures and even 2 friends from the Crossfit team showed up to cheer. I made it a tradition and wore my pink shoelace as a hairband again πŸ™‚ and even colored my nails in pink.

I made it in about 44:39, I don’t have the official time yet, anyway this is not so important to me. I loved the race, the route led downtown through all the christmas lights, passing by christmas markets where people stood, cheering, drinking hot punch and christmas songs in the background. It was lovely!

Even though it wasn’t a long distance, I felt really exhausted after the race. I think I did really challenge myself, but did not eat enough. I had a funny stomach and trouble to feed my body. Still, Sandro and me cooked a nice dinner, which I had to pass over the half to him though. I just didn’t feel like food. But at least I had a small fuel before the night.

  1. Great weekend recap, Lucie! I love that you talked your momma into buying you those new sneakers, YAY! Ha Ha =) Also.. just by those few photos, I can only imagine you have a ridiculous amount of shoes.. cute ones too! Don’t be afraid to send some my way if you grow outta them & just aren’t feeling em. I’ll be happy to take them from you, Ha Ha!

&& can I just tell you how adorable you are! Great race photos girl. Again, love the “headband”. Such a neat and clever idea. I usually don’t have much of an appetizer after any race, no matter the distance. My hunger usually kicks in the day off.. and boy does it kick in, Ha Ha.

    Have a wonderful day

    • Thank you Hun! Ah yes, I was so happy Mom got me the sneakers – and the other 2 pairs too πŸ™‚ . Oh Dear, believe me, you don’t want my old shoes πŸ™‚ – I’d rather get you a new and glam pair! Interesting to hear that you’re not feeling hungry either after a race! I was a bit irritated yesterday, but maybe this is normal. And yes, I am hungrier today!

What a great weekend, love the pics! and oh my goodness, Love Actually is seriously one of my all time favorite holiday movies as well!!!! I had a quiet night on Friday night and stayed in with some wine, Christmas music, and made holiday sweet treats for coworkers and finished it with watching telly so I truly can say I enjoyed a quiet evening indoors. The rest of weekend was for dancing with my friend visiting from Los Angeles, so it was a good balance πŸ™‚
I love your shoes! I just bought my mum two pairs of shoes for Christmas because she is the ultimate shoe queen in our family! I am the Perfume princess, scents are my guilty pleasure.. i can’t walk by a perfume counter without being tempted to buy something!

  3. Nice work on the race! I have a shoe obsession too! It’s totally a normal problem πŸ˜‰

  4. That sounds like quite a weekend! And congrats on finishing the race!

  5. Awwr there’s that pink headband again! Super cute! And great job on the race, Lucie πŸ™‚ I can definitely relate to exercise snuffing out hunger, but make sure to try and keep yourself properly fuelled so that your body can repair and keep up its energy to run more races!

    • Yes, haha, the pink headband, I love it too πŸ™‚ I am glad you had that experience too, I was quite irritated that I wasn’t hungry at all after that challenge. I did eat a bit though, I knew my body needed it!

  6. Looks like a great weekend!! Cute pics. A girl can never have too many shoes! πŸ˜‰

  7. It looks like you had a truly wonderful weekend! Amazing race πŸ™‚ and cheerleaders too?! ha! Love the pic of the banana peels btw lol I wondered what that photo was πŸ˜€ Have a lovely week!

If you encounter those feelings, you can't work around your own vulnerability.

But: there is one emotion that is stronger than fear, and that is forgiveness. For power is never simply a possession but an exercise; power is about how we understand ourselves. If we can forgive, we can let go. If we can let go, we can detach. If we can detach, we find happiness.' #blogger #heartstories #detachment #happiness
